Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Zhang Jingdong felt a sudden warmth in his heart: ”Go ahead, answer it. It’s fine.”

”But you...”

Zhang Jingdong’s lips curled into a mischievous smile: ”Don’t worry... this is an important point, I’ll wait for you.”

Ye Jinyan hesitated but answered the call anyway: ”Hello, Le...”

”Where are you guys now?”

”We... we are in the classroom.”

Guan Le was holding her phone in her left hand, tidying up her desk with her right hand when suddenly the folder in her right hand hovered mid-air.

Because she sensed something was off with what Ye Jinyan just said.

Though she hadn’t dated or done anything of the sort, she knew Ye Jinyan very well, even her speaking habits and tone.

Because of that one line just now, she instantly grasped something, and her originally fair face blushed slightly.

But she quickly regained her composure: ”I’ll be done soon, no more than twenty minutes. Are you hungry? Let’s get food right after?”

”Oh... sure, we’ll meet you at the academy building in a bit.”

After hanging up, Ye Jinyan shot Zhang Jingdong a fierce look and whispered: ”You... you did that on purpose!”

Zhang Jingdong laughed heartily: ”Relax, you acted normally just now. She definitely won’t notice anything.”

Ye Jinyan pouted: ”Others might not notice, but Le is my best friend. You’re... so annoying!”

Ten minutes later, the two tidied up and left the classroom.

Ye Jinyan went to the restroom, and then they went downstairs to the academy building.

Not long after, Guan Le joined them, casually asking: ”You two didn’t go to Professor Chen’s class earlier, did you?”

Ye Jinyan’s face instantly turned red with embarrassment: ”No... we just went to our old classroom and sat for a bit.”

Guan Le noticed Ye Jinyan’s bashfulness and felt a warmth in her heart: ”That classroom on the third floor?”

”...Yes.”

Guan Le sighed: ”That classroom holds so many of our shared memories, and I even used to teach there last year.”

”Back then, we were listening to lectures there, and now we give lectures there. It does feel quite special.”

Zhang Jingdong struggled to hold back a laugh: ”So, did you enjoy attending classes back then more, or do you enjoy teaching now more?”

For some reason, Guan Le felt Zhang Jingdong’s question was a bit odd.

But she quickly thought about it and replied: ”Both are enjoyable, but if I had to choose, teaching would be more enjoyable.”

”Why?”

”Because back then, when we attended classes, we followed the teacher’s pace, and our perspective on problems was somewhat limited. Now, as I teach, I can set my own pace, and the questions from students inspire me to explore different angles on the subject matter.”

Zhang Jingdong continued: ”So, do you find being a student back then more enjoyable, or is being a teacher now more fun?”

Guan Le glanced at Ye Jinyan: ”Your boyfriend sure doesn’t see me as an outsider. His questions are so direct. Don’t you manage him?”

To her surprise, Ye Jinyan jokingly replied: ”With our friendship, my boyfriend is like your boyfriend too. Why feel awkward?”

Guan Le was momentarily stunned, then quickly retorted with a playful glare: ”If you say that, then I won’t hold back. I’ll take him, and you go find another one?”

”No way!” Ye Jinyan giggled: ”If I find another one, then we’ll each have to go on dates with different people, which means we can’t go on dates together.”

”So let’s just share one boyfriend. This way, we can date together and also date our boyfriend simultaneously.”

”Hey... Ye Jinyan, are you out of your mind?”

Ye Jinyan replied confidently: ”Wasn’t this your suggestion back then? You said that even if one of us gets a boyfriend, we shouldn’t abandon our girl friendship for him.”

”Also, approving a boyfriend requires the best friend’s strict evaluation. Only with her approval can the relationship move forward.”

”You also said best friends are always more important than boyfriends. Boyfriends are merely witnesses to our friendship, here to carry shopping bags, pay for meals, and act as bodyguards during strolls.”

”And right now, I’ve found the perfect candidate for these roles—our classmate, Zhang Jingdong.”

”Not only is he exceptionally talented and business-savvy, but...”

Here, Ye Jinyan leaned in and whispered something in Guan Le’s ear.

Guan Le blushed instantly: ”Ye Jinyan, you... you’ve really... changed so much!”

Instead of feeling embarrassed, Ye Jinyan was a little proud: ”You could say I’ve gotten better, right?”

Even though Guan Le found her words somewhat undeliverable, she had to admit that Ye Jinyan seemed in better spirits and condition than before, and her smile was more genuine and heartfelt.

So she said: ”Alright... enough of this. I’ve worked the whole day and I’m starving. Let’s eat first!”

Seeing Guan Le didn’t want to delve into that topic anymore, Ye Jinyan eagerly took her arm: ”What do you want to eat? Want to come to my place?”

Guan Le thought for a moment, then replied: ”It’s been so long since we went to Mrs. Chen’s little eatery. I miss her shrimp noodles. Even if you don’t go, I wouldn’t go alone. Let’s go eat there together?”
