Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Li Younan nodded and finally broke his long silence, ”I roughly understand. I’ll convey this message to him.”

Liu Yu nodded, ”Now let’s continue to discuss some things you really want to know. She should have told you not to ask me about her, right?”

Li Younan didn’t shy away and nodded, ”She did.”

Liu Yu laughed, ”But it doesn’t matter. I’m saying it voluntarily, so it doesn’t count as you breaking the rules.”

Li Younan was taken aback for a moment, then smiled with a slightly peculiar expression.

Next, Liu Yu’s expression turned serious, ”But where should I start? Let me think. Hmm, let me first talk about my relationship with her. I am her brother, her biological brother.”

Li Younan said nothing.

Liu Yu continued, ”First, I’ll answer your biggest question right now, which is why after my accident, she couldn’t come by herself to take care of me and instead chose to find someone online whom she hadn’t even met?”

This question indeed struck a chord with Li Younan.

He nodded and said, ”When I saw you, my first reaction was that Jk Long was disabled and had difficulty moving around?”

Liu Yu shook his head, ”Her body is perfectly healthy, and I have her drink milk every day and stay active. Except for not getting much sunlight, which might cause some vitamin deficiencies, her body is very healthy.”

Liu Yu sighed, ”The Jk Long you are familiar with, her problem isn’t physical, but psychological.”

Li Younan frowned.

Liu Yu slowly asked, ”Have you ever heard of a condition called agoraphobia?”

Li Younan raised his head, his eyes startled.

At this point, Liu Yu sighed deeply, a hint of indescribable sadness and pain in his eyes, and began slowly, ”Several years ago, she was a normal person. Our family was a family of four; I was pursuing graduate studies in the capital, and she was in middle school. Our parents took her on a trip. Oh right...”

Liu Yu said, ”Ever since she was little, she especially loved to go outside and play, pestering our parents to take her traveling every holiday.”

”It was a summer vacation, and like always, after much pleading from her, my dad agreed. The three of them prepared for a day, set off happily. The destination was Zigong to see the dinosaur fossils.”

Liu Yu’s tone was extremely calm at this point, but Li Younan could clearly feel the heavy sadness underlying his words.

”I remember very clearly, it was a hot summer. They were planning to take the bus from the station. That day was very hot, and they had just arrived at the station’s entrance and took a photo for me. There were indeed a lot of people at the station entrance in that photo. They weren’t in a rush to go inside because of the heat, and she specifically went to buy ice cream... But unexpectedly, as she was returning, a large, out-of-control vehicle suddenly rushed out from one side of the road.”

Liu Yu paused for a moment, ”In front of her... our parents had an accident.”

Hearing this, Li Younan couldn’t help but be moved.

Liu Yu sighed slightly and continued, ”I rushed back from the capital without stopping and arrived at the hospital. She was crouching in the corner, crying non-stop. That incident deeply traumatized her, and from then on, she changed.”

”For a very long time, she felt it was her own willfulness, her love for traveling, that led to the incident.” Liu Yu gave a bitter smile, ”She shut herself at home for more than a month. At first, she would still move around in the living room, but gradually, she didn’t even want to leave her room.”

”I was very worried and tried to console her every day. After more than a month, her emotions finally calmed down a bit.”

As these words were spoken, Li Younan couldn’t help but think that the man in front of him had also just lost his parents at that time.

Liu Yu sighed long once more, ”A month later, she was finally willing to come out of her room. I thought she had moved on, but unexpectedly, the situation was worse than I imagined,” Liu Yu looked at Li Younan, speaking heavily, ”From that day, she lost the ability to leave home.”

Seeing the confusion arise in Li Younan’s eyes, Liu Yu continued to explain, ”Whenever she tried to leave home, or didn’t even have to leave, just walking to the door, attempting to open it, you could visibly see sweat on her forehead, her face turning pale, and her breathing becoming disordered.”

”She told me, ’Brother, I can’t do it.’” Liu Yu sighed, ”Does it sound unbelievable? I consulted many psychologists, and they all reached the same conclusion: agoraphobia.”

”This is a psychological condition, manifesting as an inability to leave familiar surroundings and exposing oneself to vast environments. Any open or crowded spaces bring about somatic symptoms...”

”We’ve tried many treatment methods, but aside from temporarily controlling it with medication, there hasn’t been a fundamental treatment approach... Doctors said to attempt gradual exposure, but she couldn’t even leave the house.”

At this, Li Younan fell completely silent. All his previous doubts about Jk Long were answered at this moment. He asked, ”How long has this condition persisted?”

Liu Yu said, ”It’s the fourth year now. She is nineteen this year, and all her cultural knowledge has been learned at home.”
