Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Li Younan said, ”I’m the girl’s friend, I’ll handle this situation.”

The woman snorted, ”Can you handle it? Fine, let’s see.”

Li Younan had a blank expression, making it hard to guess what he was thinking.

Before handling such matters, you must first understand what the other party is thinking, what their motives are, while not revealing your own thoughts. Li Younan slowly spoke, ”How do you want to handle this?”

The woman snorted and said, ”My son was hurt, this can’t just be let go. You seem reasonable, so let’s have a proper talk.”

Li Younan’s lips curled into a slight smile as he said, ”I believe my friend hit a dog.”

The woman was momentarily stunned before realizing the sarcasm in Li Younan’s words, instantly shocked and angry. ”What did you say? What do you mean by that?”

Li Younan shrugged slightly, innocently saying, ”Didn’t you say your son was beaten?”

The woman was immediately at a loss for words, then angrily said, ”She hit my dog!”

There was a faint hint of sarcasm in Li Younan’s eyes. He nodded and said, ”Oh, so the dog is your son, I see. So, what do you mean?”

At this point, the woman was too focused to care about the sarcasm in Li Younan’s words. She coldly snorted, ”What do you think? Of course, it’s compensation. I tell you, I’ve checked the surveillance. The girl’s fainting has nothing to do with our dog. Don’t think you can extort us, but she did hit my dog with a broom, and it’s clearly recorded in the video.”

Li Younan remained emotionless, nodding silently, and said, ”Oh, why did the girl hit your son then?”

”You!” The woman was momentarily speechless.

On this point, she was clearly at some fault.

It was only after watching the video that she realized her dog had actively caused a ruckus with that old lady...

But wait, the old lady wasn’t harmed, and the child wasn’t harmed either, so they had no reason to trouble her... That’s right, her dog was just playing around boisterously with the old lady and the child! It just seemed a bit too rough.

Realizing this, she immediately changed her stance, ”My dog never bites people, it was just playing with passersby, and that girl hit my dog for no reason!”

Li Younan looked coldly at the woman making unreasonable arguments. He knew clearly that it’s impossible to make such people admit their mistakes. But Li Younan also had no intention of making them realize their errors.

Bad people, as long as they’re punished, whether they know their mistakes or regret, it’s actually not important, as long as the punishment is adequate.

Li Younan looked at the hospital room and said, ”This is a hospital, many patients need rest; this is not an appropriate place to talk. Let’s discuss this outside the hospital.”

The woman snorted, ”Fine, who’s afraid of who?” As she spoke, she had already taken out her phone. Nowadays, it seems like anyone with a phone and a camera thinks they’re the boss. She babbled to the phone, ”Everyone, come take a look, my dog was hit for no reason, let’s see how this family plans to handle this.”

Li Younan glanced at the woman indifferently, without a word.

Soon they arrived at the downstairs parking lot. They had driven here, and the dog was in the car. The woman stood with folded arms and said, ”Speak, how do you plan to handle it?”

Li Younan glanced at the dog in the car and said, ”Just 10,000 yuan.”

The woman’s eyes suddenly lit up. She had originally planned to ask for only a few hundred to a thousand as a compensation, and this matter would be settled. She didn’t expect the other party to be so generous, offering 10,000 yuan right away. But before she could rejoice, Li Younan continued, ”What I mean is, you pay us 10,000 yuan.”

The woman’s eyes widened in disbelief as she screamed, ”What are you saying?”

”Now that we’re here, let’s do some calculations.”

Li Younan continued, ”First, your dog lunged at the old woman and the child, causing emotional distress, let’s say it’s a 3,000 yuan emotional damage fee.”

”Then, next, my friend came down from upstairs, broke a broom while protecting the old lady and child, let’s say 20 yuan for that.”

”Next, due to this incident, my friend’s emotions were triggered, and she fainted, so you need to pay for her medical expenses, let’s calculate that at 8,000 yuan.”

”I’ll round it off for you, let’s settle it at 10,000 yuan, you should go back and prepare the money.”

The woman was instantly furious, as two other family members rushed up, shouting, ”Looks like you don’t intend to settle this properly?”

Li Younan said calmly, ”Clearly, you haven’t understood the situation.”

”First point, you didn’t use a leash as required. The latest Chengdu dog management regulations clearly state that dog owners must keep their dogs on leashes or in enclosures. Violations will definitely result in fines if proven.”

”Since you’ve already checked the community’s surveillance video, that’s the evidence.”

”I will report this to the relevant departments.”

”Also, because your dog’s behavior is extremely unstable, I will try to have the police forcibly take your dog into custody and have it euthanized. Of course, this might not necessarily happen, but I will try, because the one thing I’m not short of is time.”
