Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

The child’s shoulders were trembling, and the old lady’s back was so tense it was erect, while the brain buzzed and the sound of the dog’s growl grew nearer.

”Go away! Don’t come over!” Liu Li shouted, her voice quivering. It seemed as if the wind had stopped downstairs and only her heart was pounding like a drum.

The dog pounced to the side of the bamboo chair, its claws scratching at the chair legs. The old lady hid the child behind her and moved forward.

Seeing her frail shoulders, Liu Li was so anxious that tears were about to fall. She didn’t know what to do, so she could only shout repeatedly, ”Damn dog! Go away!”

”Where is everyone? Why is there no one around here? Where’s the security? The dog’s owner? Other people?”

At this time, the child began to wail loudly.

And just then, the dog suddenly launched an attack without any warning. Its first pounce was kicked away by the old lady.

It staggered on the spot and then continued to pounce.

The child cried even louder.

The old lady was protecting the child while shouting loudly.

But after all, she was elderly, and it was clear her legs weren’t very agile.

At this time, the babysitter had just gone grocery shopping, leaving Liu Li with no one to rely on.

The young girl couldn’t care about anything else.

With adrenaline rushing, she dashed out of the room, grabbed the broom by the door with a backward hand, and turned to charge outside.

But as she touched the doorknob and opened a crack, she saw the dimly lit staircase, and her heart sank like a heavy hammer hit her, rendering her breathless.

Her fingertips instantly went numb, her legs started to weaken, and the agoraphobia’s reaction came on fiercer than anticipated.

The cry of the child downstairs drifted up with the wind.

Gritting her teeth, Liu Li tightened her grip on the broom, forcing herself over the threshold.

The staircase lights were off, shadows cast on the walls. She dared not look, her gaze fixed intently on the direction downstairs, moving one step at a time.

Why does this road seem so long?

With every step closer to the stairway, memories of her parents’ collision flashed incessantly in her mind, her temples throbbed, and the ringing in her ears began.

”Damn it...”

Her nose tingled as tears welled up uncontrollably. At this moment, she really hated herself for having such an illness.

The hand gripping the broom was full of sweat, knuckles turned white, as her mind emptied but for one thought: She couldn’t let the dog harm them.

Finally, Liu Li rushed to the stairwell.

The outside light was blindingly bright. Everything that once looked beautiful from the second floor now filled her with fear once her body stood truly amidst it all.

However, everything in her field of view was blocked out, focusing entirely on people.

All she saw was the dog trying to pounce on the old lady.

She dashed out, still in her pajamas, yet unmistakably like a genuine magical girl warrior.

In a few steps, she reached the dog, instinctively raising the broom to strike at the dog’s head.

With a ”thump,” the broomstick rattled in her hands, making her numb, while the dog screeched, whimpered, and retreated two steps.

Liu Li’s gaze stayed locked on the dog, panting heavily, sweat pouring off her forehead, yet she gripped the broomstick tighter.

Then chaos erupted around her.

She heard someone shout ”What’s going on,” security footsteps running over, and a woman frantically yelling, ”My dog.”

She knew people had come, it should be... safe.

But those sounds blended together like countless pins piercing Liu Li’s ears. She stood there, vision blurred, legs weak, unable to hold on, and everything went black.

...

The competition was about to start, and Li Younan was interacting with many fans who had come specifically to watch him in the fishing contest.

Liu Yu, on the side, somewhat enviously said, ”Heh, big star.”

Li Younan calmly replied, ”This style of speaking isn’t like you.”

Liu Yu shrugged without a word.

Today was a bright sunny day, but sunny weather doesn’t necessarily promise good fishing. However, for Li Younan, it didn’t matter; there were sunny day techniques for fishing too.

At this moment, the competition organizer began calling the finalists to head to the fishing area. Li Younan packed his equipment, ready to depart, not forgetting to remind Liu Yu to be ready to film a video.

Liu Yu, after all, ran an advertising company, not like some print shop kind. They handled projects for shooting advertising promo videos for actual big brands, from planning to formal shooting, post-editing, and even distribution.

As the boss, he was familiar with the whole process.

Liu Yu snorted, given that he had already lost miserably in fishing, he certainly wouldn’t slip up in his area of expertise.

Holding his camera, he said, ”Rest assured, as long as it’s not a zero catch, I’ll definitely film you so handsome, enough to captivate thousands of girls.”

Li Younan half-jokingly said, ”So, can you captivate your sister?”

Liu Yu gave him a hard punch.

He really couldn’t keep his mouth shut.

This time it was a real hit, and it hurt for real.

Just then, Liu Yu’s phone rang. Looking at it, his eyelid lightly twitched; it was the babysitter calling.

It was unusual for the babysitter to call him at this hour, giving him a sudden ominous feeling, and then he answered the call.

Li Younan blinked, patiently waiting for Liu Yu to finish the call before setting off. But the next moment, after perhaps only two or three sentences were said to Liu Yu, he saw Liu Yu’s expression drastically change.

Li Younan’s heart skipped a beat. Anything that made Liu Yu this anxious, without a doubt, was definitely about his sister.

Li Younan’s expression immediately became serious.

However, Liu Yu forced himself to suppress his panicked emotions, calmly advising over the phone, ”Don’t panic, I’ll be back right away!”

He hung up the phone, looked at Li Younan without explaining much, and simply said, ”I can’t accompany you fishing, you go by yourself! Lend me your car.”

Li Younan shook his head, and in the next moment, he picked up the fishing box and headed for the car: ”Your sister’s problem is also my problem.”

Although Liu Yu didn’t explain, Li Younan had already guessed most of it.

Seeing this, Liu Yu’s heart subtly sighed in relief; he and his sister didn’t misjudge the person.

But he still asked, ”What about your competition?”

Li Younan flatly countered, ”Does it matter?”

Liu Yu was taken aback, nodded silently.

No need to nag any further at this point.

At this moment, they both had great tacit understanding, not immediately discussing the ins and outs. Time was urgent, so they could only talk on the road.

Only those fans were somewhat dumbfounded, looking at Li Younan in confusion.

Without a single explanation, Li Younan threw the stuff into the trunk and quickly got in the car.

Liu Yu fastened his seatbelt and asked seriously, ”Can you drive fast?”

Li Younan didn’t reply, but silently switched the car’s gear to manual mode.

The engine began to roar.
