Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Li Younan’s skills not only don’t regress, but they gradually improve through constant use. Li Younan feels this deeply.

For example, his cooking skills have deepened his understanding of ingredients over time, moving from very delicious to super delicious.

In short, all of his skills only progress and don’t regress.

His highway driving skills are naturally the same. In almost a year, Li Younan has driven at least 20,000 to 30,000 kilometers.

Although this number is trivial for professional drivers in the transport industry, in this year, he’s experienced various road conditions. Even if he hasn’t reached level two of the system’s highway driving skills, his skills have clearly improved.

When Li Younan switched the gear to manual, his control over the vehicle’s chassis limit and engine RPM was exaggeratedly precise.

Once on the highway, he glanced at the speed cameras, and except for a few where he slowed to the limit, he was speeding most of the time.

Despite this, Liu Yu didn’t feel the car losing control at all, meaning that even at such high speeds, Li Younan drove very steadily.

He grasped the timing of gear shifts with extreme precision, perfectly matching the car’s performance parameters.

From the south to Chengdu is about 300 kilometers, but under Li Younan’s speeding, they reached the toll station in just two and a half hours.

Although Liu Yu didn’t say anything along the way, he felt a bit nervous. To be honest, he hadn’t been in such a fast car before, and for a moment, he regretted telling Li Younan to hurry up.

Luckily, they arrived safely and without incident.

Of course, even while speeding, everything was under control for Li Younan.

With his skill level, he naturally posed no risk to others’ safety. In fact, not getting stuck in traffic made the roads smoother, enhancing safety.

Upon reaching Chengdu, Liu Yu relaxed a bit and began to explain what happened to Liu Li.

Yet, Liu Yu wasn’t very clear about the details. The call came from their housekeeper. After coming back from shopping, she found Liu Li already taken to the hospital.

It seems Liu Li went downstairs to hit a dog and then fainted, and someone else called the ambulance.

This was the extent of the information available. Liu Yu didn’t ask the housekeeper for more details, thinking she might not know much either.

The immediate priority was to go handle the matter and ensure his sister’s safety.

So, they headed directly to the hospital.

Liu Yu frowned and said, ”This might have been an accident, but we don’t know the specifics yet.”

He sighed, thinking that perhaps someone called the ambulance when his sister passed out.

”The hospital is a strange environment for her, making her more anxious. She needs me by her side now.” Liu Yu looked at Li Younan, his eyes showing undisguised concern.

Li Younan silently nodded.

Though Liu Yu appeared calm and stable, speaking rationally, Li Younan knew this was only because Liu Yu understood that panicking wouldn’t help. Inside, he was undoubtedly extremely anxious.

Calling an ambulance was the right call when Liu Li fainted, but without a familiar face, she might wake up to an even more terrifying environment.

Liu Yu felt some guilt and pain: ”I shouldn’t have left her alone at home for so long.”

Li Younan shook his head, saying: ”It’s not your fault. But if she went downstairs alone, something must have prompted it. You mentioned she hit a dog, why would she do that?”

Liu Yu’s gaze suddenly sharpened, and he said slowly, ”Whatever the reason, if my sister had an accident because of someone else...” He stopped, knowing it wasn’t the time for harsh words.

Then, Liu Yu made several calls to the housekeeper again, learning that Liu Li hadn’t woken up yet, but her other vital signs were stable.

He breathed a slight sigh of relief and said to Li Younan, ”I hope I’m already beside her when she wakes up.”

Fortunately, traffic wasn’t bad today, and soon, Li Younan’s car reached the hospital where Liu Li was.

They parked the car and quickly headed to the ward.

Standing by the elevator, Liu Yu hesitated, glanced at Li Younan, and then smiled wryly. ”She hasn’t agreed to meet you in person yet.”

Li Younan shrugged indifferently, saying, ”If you think it’s not appropriate, I won’t go in.”

Liu Yu rolled his eyes, saying, ”Is that what I’m trying to say?” He became serious, ”My sister experiences varying degrees of somatization symptoms when meeting strangers. That’s one reason she hasn’t seen you yet.

”Thank you for giving up the finals for my sister and speeding all the way here. If all your license points were deducted, you couldn’t drive on trips anymore.”

Li Younan casually said, ”Don’t worry, I was driving within the limit in the areas with speed cameras. Anyway, should I step out later?”

Liu Yu paused, then gave a bitter smile: ”Originally, I planned to let her eat the food you cooked for a while before meeting you. But now, things have changed... We’ll figure it out when we get there.”

Soon after, they reached the floor where Liu Li’s ward was.

Looking down the hallway, they spotted a middle-aged housekeeper explaining something to a few people outside a ward.

This housekeeper was the one hired by Liu Yu’s family. They headed over, hearing her explaining that Liu Li couldn’t have visitors.

Upon seeing Liu Yu, the housekeeper breathed a sigh of relief, saying, ”President Liu, you’re finally here.”

Liu Yu nodded, first peering through the glass window of the hospital room before asking, ”How’s her condition?”

The aunt said, ”The doctor said the condition is quite stable, she might wake up soon. Why don’t you go in first?”

At this moment, Liu Yu finally let out a sigh of relief, nodded, and went in alone to check on his sister, confirming her condition with the doctor.

After about 10 minutes, he came out of the room and asked the nanny aunt what had happened.

Only then did he focus on the two people also waiting outside the room, one of whom was an elderly woman.

Upon hearing Liu Yu ask about her granddaughter’s condition, she couldn’t help but wipe her tears and said, ”We were sunbathing downstairs when a mad dog suddenly came running over, wanting to bite my grandson. I’m old and frail, can’t handle the crazy dog... At that moment, the girl rushed down from upstairs with a broom to chase the dog away, and then she fainted... Poor girl...”

Li Younan and Liu Yu exchanged a glance, understanding the gist of the story.

...

Half an hour later, Li Younan and Liu Yu’s family’s nanny aunt were chatting against the wall outside the hospital room.

At this moment, for Liu Li, it was a foreign environment, and it would be better if her brother accompanied her inside alone.

When she wakes up, if her emotions are stable, it’s fine; if not, more people inside will add to the chaos.

The aunt had been working in Liu Yu’s home for several years, and Li Younan chatted with her briefly, realizing that she was an honest and kind-hearted person.

Talking about Liu Li’s condition, she couldn’t help but sigh repeatedly, saying, ”Oh dear, such a good girl, how did she get such a strange illness.”

Just then, the door suddenly clicked open.

Liu Yu walked out, turned to close the door, and Li Younan glanced at him, asking, ”Did your sister wake up?”

Liu Yu nodded, ”She’s awake.”

Li Younan asked again, ”Is she okay?”

Liu Yu nodded again, saying, ”She was a bit frightened, but since it’s a somatic symptom causing her fainting, she needs to stay another hour for observation, and if there’s no issue, she can go home.”

Li Younan also let out a sigh of relief, saying, ”That’s good.”

Liu Yu suddenly looked at Li Younan and said, ”Why don’t you go in and see my sister?”

Li Younan hesitated for a moment, slightly unsure, ”Is it okay?”

Liu Yu nodded, saying, ”I just told her about how you raced back and gave up the final competition; she feels a bit guilty and asked me to bring you in.”

Although Li Younan knew it wasn’t the time for jokes, he couldn’t help but ask, ”If I go in, your sister won’t faint, right?”

Liu Yu said irritably, ”I’ll go in with you.”

With that, Liu Yu opened the door again.

For some reason, Li Younan suddenly felt his breath quicken.

Even though deep down he felt Liu Li’s appearance didn’t matter, facing this long-mysterious girl made his heart beat slightly faster.

He chuckled silently, thinking that unfulfilled desires indeed tend to linger, and human nature is inherently curious.

He then followed Liu Yu into the hospital room.

As soon as Li Younan entered, Liu Yu closed the door behind them, and the room instantly became quiet.

In the small space, the hospital bed was right in the middle, and the girl on the bed didn’t look over, lowering her head while clutching a doll, her thick long hair falling over her shoulders like a waterfall, looking gentle like a painting.

From this angle, he could see her long eyelashes and delicate nose, though her skin appeared somewhat pale.

Then, she slowly lifted her head—Li Younan swore he had never seen eyes like hers, as clear as obsidian submerged in a spring, carrying a hint of sleepiness, with a faint trace of stubbornness, as if starlight had fallen inside, gently shimmering with tiny light fragments.

He froze on the spot, his earlier anticipation suddenly grounded, as if something gently nudged his heart.

So this was the girl who had existed only in descriptions, sitting so quietly right there.

Li Younan’s daze went unnoticed by Liu Yu and Liu Li, as at this moment, Liu Yu and Liu Li were even more nervous than Li Younan.

Liu Li also saw Li Younan, the guy she’d always seen in videos, looking even better in person than on screen.

She didn’t know what to say, feeling embarrassed, she lowered her head and softly whispered, ”Hi.”

Her fair face immediately turned rosy like the evening glow.

Li Younan also responded with a ”Hi.”

Liu Yu, on the side, felt relieved... Fortunately, Liu Li didn’t perceive Li Younan as someone who would make her anxious.

Just as the scene was harmonious, the sound of women shouting suddenly came from outside.

”Here! It’s the person in this hospital room... who hurt my son!”
