Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Li Younan arrived at the hospital according to the address given by jk Long.

To be honest, up to this point, Li Younan was still somewhat bewildered.

The reason was jk Long’s request was not very specific. Brother Long asked him to help take care of the person lying in the hospital, but specifically emphasized not to inquire about too much of his own information from the person.

This was indeed a rather open-ended request.

Li Younan had imagined all sorts of possibilities but couldn’t make any sense of them, so he simply chose not to think much, believing that when he met the person, he would probably understand the whole story.

Li Younan inquired about the hospital room at the admissions counter and then went directly upstairs.

This was a private hospital with an excellent environment, but the prices were not quite affordable.

In the hospital corridor, there was a faint smell of disinfectant, and the floors were scrubbed clean.

The hospital rooms on this floor were all home-styled suites, showing that the people staying in the hospital were not short on resources.

Li Younan arrived at the door of the hospital room, double-checked that he hadn’t arrived at the wrong place, and then gently knocked on the door.

After a pause, a voice came from inside the room.

The person only said two words: ”Come in.”

But that familiar voice made Li Younan suddenly freeze.

Since the first video that jk Long helped with editing, there had always been a first-person narrative voice—a voice that was very magnetic and matched very well with Li Younan’s appearance. Li Younan had long assumed the voice’s owner was jk Long.

And now, the voice he heard was exactly that ”own voice” he had heard who knows how many times.

Li Younan took half a second to calm his mood before opening the door.

The home-styled hospital room had tiled floors, with a hotel-style bathroom at the entrance. Besides the facilities and equipment for medical use, the room was fully stocked with a television, coffee table, sofa, and more as found in hotels.

And at this moment, Li Younan focused his gaze on the person lying on the hospital bed.

It was a youth around his age, with a slight trace of arrogance in his brows. His skin was somewhat dark, and he wore frameless glasses, exuding a kind of coldness that kept others at a distance.

But at this moment, he looked somewhat disheveled, with his right leg in a cast and elevated high.

He was holding a tablet computer, writing and drawing, perhaps checking the news or busy with work.

After Li Younan entered, the person then put down the tablet and turned his head to look over.

The cold face showed a slight expression of shock upon seeing Li Younan, but quickly returned to calm, with only a brow slightly furrowed, revealing a strange expression: ”Li Younan?”

...

After the person spoke his name, Li Younan could naturally be sure that even if this guy wasn’t jk Long, he must be someone extremely close to jk Long.

The doubts in his heart increased, but he remained calm at the moment.

However, before he could speak, the other party spoke first and asked, ”Why are you here?”

Then, as if having a realization, he showed a look of sudden understanding, ”She told you? She actually told you about this thing.”

A moment later, he lowered his head and sighed slightly, like mumbling to himself, ”But it seems like there really isn’t anyone else to ask for help.”

While saying this, Li Younan clearly saw a hint of heartache in his eyes.

Li Younan didn’t speak, knowing the other party would definitely say something.

Sure enough, the other party casually placed the tablet on the bedside table, pointed to the sofa by the bed and said, ”I know you have a lot of questions, feel free to sit, we... can talk a bit.”

...

”First, let me introduce myself, my name is Liu Yu, and you don’t need to introduce yourself; I’ve been involved in basically every one of your videos, which you should know, including the voiceovers being done by me.”

Liu Yu pointed to the fruit on the table and said, ”Help yourself, don’t be formal.”

Li Younan thought for a moment, and indeed didn’t stand on ceremony, directly picking up an apple from the fruit plate and taking a bite.

Liu Yu’s gaze scanned Li Younan’s calm face, showing a peculiar smile at the corner of his mouth. In real life, encountering this fellow as such a laid-back person turned out to be just as he imagined.

He slowly spoke: ”She probably told you something like asking you to help look after me, right?”

Li Younan nodded, but didn’t interrupt, patiently waiting for him to finish.

Liu Yu sighed slightly and pointed to his plastered right leg, saying, ”As you can see, there was a little accident, the ground was icy, and there was a car accident while driving, a comminuted fracture, and some other parts of my body need observation, so I can’t be discharged for the time being.”

”It has been three days since I last went home. Although I’ve already told her it’s alright, she must be worried, pondering for a long time without anyone to entrust, and finally ended up sending the message to you... which is not so surprising.”

After saying this, Liu Yu looked up at Li Younan.

Sure enough, Li Younan appeared even more confused after hearing this.

Liu Yu continued, ”But, it doesn’t matter, this incident was purely an accident, though it was somewhat thrilling at the time, there wasn’t any danger to life. Now, with such good medical conditions, I’ll be discharged soon, just tell her not to worry too much.”
