Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Actively inviting Li Younan to participate in this fishing competition naturally involved a bit of subtle scheming.

Liu Yu is not someone who likes to chase fame and fortune.

For someone like him, achieving great success in his own field means that his world view and values are very mature, and he has his own criteria for judging things, making it difficult to be swayed by matters of fame and fortune.

For the vast majority of people, fame is just something you bring up when you want to show off, making others think you are impressive in some aspect.

Fame is often tied to profit; fame can often bring benefits.

Many people pursue fame only to ultimately return to the pursuit of that ”benefit.”

And he no longer needs the boost of fame to generate income; his advertising company is now truly on the right track, with many excellent planning teams under his command, and several salespeople with substantial resources.

As the boss, he now has enough time and energy to do some things he enjoys.

But to say he really doesn’t care about fame anymore wouldn’t be entirely true.

For him, it’s just that fame no longer needs to be tied to profit.

When it comes to fishing, he still has a certain unspeakable expectation in his heart—the title of Fishing Master.

The so-called Fishing Master doesn’t actually have much more skill than the average fishing enthusiast; for many anglers, luck is the main factor.

The so-called techniques mainly fool outsiders or those who don’t understand the nuances.

Some impressive video bloggers always fish in private reservoirs or ponds, where the catch can always be managed.

If you’re fooled by these videos, then you might be lacking in critical thinking.

Take this fishing event for instance; although he was off to a rough start and almost embarrassed himself in front of Li Younan, his luck eventually turned around, and he caught big fish one after the other.

On the other hand, the fact that Li Younan was able to catch fish proved that the skill involved in fishing wasn’t as exaggerated as people thought.

He has been fishing for so many years, with fruitful days but more often than not, less successful, or even going home empty-handed.

He has tried online tutorials and books, but finally realized that when it comes to fishing, these techniques aren’t very useful.

He currently fishes in a muddled manner; sometimes, even going against certain theories, he can still catch fish.

This reinforces his understanding of fishing.

Of course, not everyone agrees with his theory; a few fishing friends scoff at it.

He once shared it with his sister, who also didn’t trust him.

Liu Li said at the time that if his theory were correct, he should be the Fishing Master sharing experiences.

The various voices of doubt were rather annoying, so the best way to silence them was to gain a resounding title.

Liu Yu has always been the kind of person who, once he decides to do something, will either not do it or do it to the utmost.

Since he had decided to make his name a bit more prominent, merely winning a placement wasn’t enough; he needed more people to know about it.

Li Younan happened to have a role to play here, using his videos to promote this matter.

In other words, in this case, Li Younan had to be a bit accommodating and become a stepping stone for him.

Of course, in terms of experience, he wouldn’t feel embarrassed, and Liu Yu could handle that.

As evening approached, Li Younan finally drove back to Liu Yu’s fishing spot.

Liu Yu had adjusted his fishing spot slightly, but it was just a move from the shore to the lakeside.

When Li Younan drove over, he spotted Liu Yu at a glance.

He Gang hadn’t finished fishing yet; he was more hardcore and planned to fish here for three consecutive days, having already set up a temporary tent.

For an experienced angler like He Gang, this seemingly rugged environment was actually quite pleasant.

During the day, he made some tea on a portable stove, poured it into a thermos, set up a table, and fished while sipping tea.

If he got hungry, he had brought enough dry food for several days.

These days, so-called dry food is actually quite sumptuous.

Li Younan found this lifestyle quite enviable and even thought that if he had time, he could do something like this for a few days.

If he drove a hybrid new energy vehicle, it would be even more comfortable. He could bring a microwave or a fridge with an external power source, fish day and night, sleep in the car when tired, with the air conditioning on for a restful sleep.

The days ahead are long; Li Younan believes that one day he will have the chance to experience such a lifestyle.

Hybrid vehicles do have advantages that gasoline ones can’t compete with, considering even the most advanced tanks in the current military parades use hybrids now.

But before that, buying a house for his mother needs to be prioritized.

Since Li Younan started his journey as a short video blogger about half a year or nearly a year ago, his income has far exceeded his expenses.

Currently, his bank account already has a seven-figure balance.

This is indeed an astonishing earning speed.

And this is after Li Younan turned down some advertisements that might affect the viewer experience to ensure a better experience for his fans.

But to live the ideal life he dreams of, a million in savings is far from enough.

Just as Li Younan was pondering, Liu Yu urged, ”Come over here and help me pack.”

While Li Younan was helping Liu Yu pack, Liu Yu finally slowly revealed the reason he had been thinking about for a long time. ”You are currently in an upward trend in video traffic, so you need to seize this period well.”

”Look at the last video of the mountain climbing; it was very engaging and instantly gained you many fans.”

”We need to try to uncover the underlying logic behind this. I think it’s mainly due to the contrast; you, being a travel blogger with some academic skills, appeared quite different from a mountaineer, and then suddenly you became a hero who climbed Gongga Mountain.”

”So let’s extend this, and if you participate in a fishing competition, even if you don’t achieve any rank, others can see some of your potential in this video... it’s another kind of contrast.”

Li Younan blinked, finally understanding that Liu Yu was persuading him to join the fishing competition together.

He suddenly found it somewhat amusing.

How to put it... Liu Yu’s words seem to boil down to one sentence: making you join the competition with me is for your own good.

Whether this is actually true is open to question.

However, Li Younan was already quite interested in the fishing competition.

The upcoming fishing competition is divided into the Sichuan station, and after placing in the top few, they can participate in the national finals.

The schedule seems quite interesting, and they can use this competition as a thread to travel to some intriguing places, so Li Younan agreed.

Meanwhile, Liu Yu maintained his usual indifferent expression, as if he didn’t care whether Li Younan agreed or not.

...

This brief fishing experience ended here.

Next, they still needed to return to Chengdu.

The plan was to come back and practice properly after a while.

Liu Yu asked Li Younan, ”Is everything done?”

Li Younan told him the video had been sent to JK Long for editing.

Liu Yu was a bit surprised, ”No voice-over needed?”

Li Younan said, ”This time, no voice-over is needed.”

The next day, the final product was ready.

As Li Younan and JK Long had planned, the video had the beauty of a flowing Oriental landscape painting, just like those by Li Ziqi.

First, in terms of color tone, JK Long used more cool and fresh colors, creating a tranquil and harmonious atmosphere, even somewhat transcendent.

And needless to say, the composition of the images — every frame was meticulously designed by Li Younan without even realizing it, something that naturally happened once his photography skills reached Level 3.

Although it was a simple video, it cleverly blended the characters and the environment, with many close-up shots showcasing the process of handiwork and Granny Li’s subtle expressions.

Li Younan was very satisfied with this segment of the video and happily clicked upload.

A few days later, this video gained a high amount of traffic again.

A well-made video lets you feel the atmosphere right from the start.

The video that took Li Younan only half a day to create was considered by many to be of extremely high quality.

The style was different from before, with not a single line of dialogue; all sounds came naturally in harmony.

The core of the video — the process of making the smiling doll — had an inherent, pristine beauty.

The theme of Younan’s video was becoming a successor of an endangered intangible cultural heritage, which was personally certified by Granny Li.

This video also received likes and comments from the local cultural and tourism department.

Of course, at the end of the video, Li Younan didn’t forget to feature his most proud spoof drawings, which instead gained many likes, as everyone thought that such innovative fidelity was fundamental to keeping these intangible cultural heritages alive.

It could also be regarded as an alternative form of intangible cultural heritage preservation.

The initial traffic actually came mostly from people who had not followed Li Younan, amazed at the quality and beauty depicted in his video, but soon linked his style to that of the phenomenal national internet celebrity Li Ziqi.

Due to the similar style, naturally, some people thought the video was an imitation.

However, those who had always followed Li Younan were once again amazed by his painting skills shown in the video.

They suddenly realized that Li Younan, whom they had been following all along, had such a skill never noticed before.

After a few days of fermentation, a comment rose to the top with the most likes.

The comment said: ”Li Younan is the most incredible learner I’ve ever seen. Setting aside his identity as a travel blogger, his astonishing learning ability in several areas alone is a selling point. With such excellent learning ability, only being a travel blogger seems a pity; I suggest trying to learn some local intangible cultural heritages whenever visiting a place.”

This comment had many follow-up comments, with everyone lamenting that as times progress, many regrettable intangible cultural heritages are vanishing.

Li Younan saw this comment too, and it touched his heart... indeed, the disappearance of some intangible cultural heritages is quite regrettable.

Even more regrettably, neighboring South Korea and Japan, and even some Southeast Asian countries, treat certain intangible cultural heritages as treasures.

Previously, he lacked the capability and had not thought about this, but as this netizen suggested, if he learns more, not only can these heritages continue to survive at another level, but it also serves as a form of promotion.

Li Younan thought for a moment and gave the comment a like, and with that one like, his followers realized something — could it be? Is Li Younan really going to take on the role of a successor to various intangible cultural heritages at each stop?

A few days later, everyone suddenly noticed that a new series emerged in Li Younan’s videos, titled ”Intangible Cultural Heritage Directory (Personal Alternative Version).”
