Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 96: Chapter 86: Privilege: In-Depth Exploration [6,200 Words!]

Early the next morning, just as the sky was beginning to lighten, they had arranged to meet near Tengwang Pavilion.

Li Younan strolled over carrying a small bag, inside which were a water bottle, a spare T-shirt, some energy bars, and his DJI-sponsored action camera.

The media center’s car had already arrived, with Brother Zhang and Xiaoliu unloading equipment from it, along with two additional safety personnel nearby.

”Younan, morning! Have you eaten yet?”

Xiaoliu handed over a bag containing steaming hot Nanchang mixed noodles and clay pot soup.

”Teacher Yang specifically instructed us, saying you’d need to eat well to have the energy to run.”

This treatment was really nice.

Li Younan leaned against the car, enjoying the cool morning breeze by the river as he slurped down the noodles and drank the soup dry, feeling refreshed all over.

Brother Zhang said while adjusting the equipment, ”We’ll follow the plan and first shoot the exterior of Tengwang Pavilion. No rush, we’ll start in about half an hour when the light softens a bit more. Go ahead and warm up, get familiar with the spots we scouted.”

He pointed out several spots: a low wall, a stone railing, and a staircase leading to the riverside.

Li Younan responded and began to leisurely stroll around the area.

Others come to Tengwang Pavilion to look up at the main building or squeeze in among the tourists.

But Li Younan was different — with a professional team on hand, he could focus entirely on those overlooked nooks and crannies that tourists typically miss.

He ran his fingers over the texture of the old wall bricks, tested the railing’s sturdiness, and bounced a couple of times on the steps to feel their elasticity.

Xiaoliu walked beside Li Younan with a storyboard, occasionally exchanging a few words: ”Younan, if you leap over the railing from this angle, you can frame part of the main building in the background; the effect should be nice?”

”Sure, no problem.”

Li Younan nodded, finding the feeling quite good.

As the light became just right, Brother Zhang called out, ”Get ready to start shooting!”

Li Younan took a deep breath and loosened up his limbs.

As soon as the camera was set up, the feeling kicked in.

Running, jumping, and vaulting along the mapped route... His parkour skills were undoubtedly at a master level, a whole notch above the professional level. While professionals could perform the actions, a master did them with ease and natural grace.

Because of the professional angle of capture, it felt even more exhilarating.

Brother Zhang’s camera steadily followed, with the drone buzzing overhead. After completing a long take, they stopped to review the footage, which was smooth and captured Tengwang Pavilion in the morning light with a particularly impressive presence. Even the flutter of Li Younan’s clothes as he vaulted over the railing was captured with a dynamic flair.

”Beautiful!”

Brother Zhang was satisfied. ”Take a break, have some water. Next, we’ll shoot from the perspective of the action camera on your chest, charging down this staircase to get a feel for it.”

Li Younan took the water handed by the safety officer and leaned against the railing.

As the river breeze blew by, looking at the Ganjiang River and the scenery on the opposite bank, it truly felt like having a private view of the beautiful landscape—

Even though there were plenty of staff around, the job itself was an enjoyment of the scenery.

In the afternoon, they switched locations to the old streets near Shenjin Tower.

There was a more authentic local feel here, with cobblestone paths and low, old houses.

During a break in filming, Brother Zhang pointed to a spot deep in a small alley: ”Younan, there’s a mung bean soup place over there with an old Nanchang flavor. I’ll take you to try it later.”

Xiaoliu also joined in: ”At the end of this alley, if you turn, there’s a small temple. It’s not very popular, but the wood carvings above the door are particularly intricate. Only locals know about it. It’s not on the storyboard, but do you want to take a look?”

Of course, Li Younan was keen and blinked: ”Can I?”

Xiaoliu and Old Zhang exchanged a knowing smile without explaining. Seeing this, Li Younan smartly stopped asking further, and the three of them exchanged a glance and burst out laughing.

This job really was quite enjoyable.

After finishing the planned shots, the sun was already setting.

While packing up the equipment, Li Younan followed Xiaoliu into the small alley he mentioned, drank the mung bean soup, and continued walking inside.

Indeed, the small temple at the end was very quiet, the wood carvings of figures on the lintel lifelike, glowing with a gentle light in the glow of the sunset.

Li Younan took out his phone, not to film parkour, but to quietly take a few pictures of the wood carvings’ details.

Brother Zhang and the others didn’t rush him, standing nearby smoking and chatting leisurely.

On the way back to the hotel, they played some relaxed music in the car.

He was a bit tired, but his heart was extremely full. Not having to search for angles himself, nor worry about the shooting plan, and getting to discover hidden corners with the locals, this in-depth exploration was much more interesting than wandering aimlessly alone.

In this light, the paycheck hardly mattered; just this city exploration at an official tour guide level was worth it.

Tomorrow they would go to Bayi Square. He heard there were a lot of pigeons there; he wondered if any would fly into his face while running. It should look great... he thought to himself, already smiling.

The main attractions hadn’t been visited yet, but there’s no hurry for that.

...

The shoot entered its second day, transitioning to Bayi Square.

As the car approached, they saw a long line at the entrance of the square, full of tourists waiting for security checks to enter.

The sun was already a bit hot, with several people in the line holding umbrellas, craning their necks to look ahead. The air was filled with heat and the impatience of waiting.

The car that carried Li Younan and the others didn’t stop outside; Brother Zhang skillfully drove to an inconspicuous entry point on the side.

Xiaoliu rolled down the window, showing the security guard their media center work pass, and simply said, ”Filming task.”

The security point nodded, opened the barrier, and let them through. The car drove directly into the square, parking in the shade near the monument.
