Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 55: Chapter 55: This Is What a High-Quality Video Looks Like

Early the next morning, Li Younan opened the curtains and breathed in the fresh air while taking out his phone to shoot videos outside.

After a while, he put down the phone somewhat bored.

He had to admit that he indeed lacked talent in this area. You should know that video shooting and photography seem related, but they are actually completely different things.

The only connection perhaps lies in composition and light and shadow. However, shooting videos is more about the ability to provoke emotions and tell stories, transforming things that seem uninteresting to the average person into engaging content through scripts and camera language.

He shot videos completely haphazardly, shooting wherever he went without any purpose or direction. If he had such sensitivity, he should have shot videos while repairing cars long ago.

Thinking about these things now seems pretty useless.

Li Younan thought of this and opened the short video app on his phone. Just yesterday at dawn, that irritable dude sent his video over and also accepted that 200 yuan red envelope.

Noticing the other party accepted the red envelope, Li Younan’s mood became much more comfortable. To be honest, if he had helped make the video without any pay, Li Younan would have felt a bit uneasy.

Li Younan downloaded the video and started watching. The basic structure and logic were similar to the rough version the guy edited before, but this time it was edited using the original materials, with higher image quality, and some unused clips by Li Younan were added by the guy.

After watching the video on his side, it showed as read on the other side. Perhaps for this reason, the dude sent a message: ”Satisfied or not?”

Li Younan quickly replied, ”Satisfied, very satisfied!”

The other party said, ”Then delete the video you uploaded.”

Li Younan hesitated, saying, ”There’s no need for that, is there?”

The other party coldly replied, ”The one you made yourself, leaving it on your homepage, is really degrading.”

Li Younan could only reply with an awkward smile. After thinking, he set the video to private instead of directly deleting it. He then uploaded the new video.

The guy sent another message, a combination of letters and numbers, saying, ”This is my WeChat. Add me. If you have videos in the future, I can help you arrange and edit them.”

Li Younan thought it over and replied, ”Does this mean a long-term collaboration?”

The other party was silent for a while before saying, ”You can understand it that way.”

Li Younan gladly agreed and promptly added the guy’s WeChat. What surprised him was that the guy’s WeChat name was also ’jk Long,’ but hadn’t posted any updates for a long time. The last photo he posted was three years ago, a lonely shot of the moon taken late at night.

The guy sent a message on WeChat, ”You’re going to travel, right? Where’s your next stop?”

Li Younan said, ”Planning to go to Xiamen to join a youth carnival festival.”

After a while, jk Long sent a link, which was an advertisement for the youth carnival festival, then asked, ”Is it this one?”

Li Younan checked and said, ”Yes, it is.”

The other party was silent again and sent a message, ”Why do you like going to such boring places?”

Li Younan looked at this message, paused, but wasn’t angry, and replied, ”I think it should be alright. Traveling is just about experiencing different places and different customs. In the east and south, naturally it’s about technology, modernization, freedom, and an open atmosphere. This kind of activity showcases the vibrant and flamboyant youth of these cities, so I think it will be interesting. Of course, even if it’s not it doesn’t matter; experiencing uninteresting things is also interesting. I’ll set off for more places in the future. The central regions have many historical sites, while the western regions offer grasslands, plateaus, forests, and other natural sceneries. They’re all different.”

After Li Younan sent this lengthy message, the other party quickly replied with several words, ”Too long, didn’t read.”

Li Younan was speechless.

After a while, the other party asked, ”You can do a backflip, are you trained in gymnastics?”

Li Younan humbly said, ”Just know a bit of parkour.”

Although both are impressive skills, gymnastics and parkour give completely different impressions. Mention parkour, and the first thing that comes to mind is freedom.

”That’s a great video shooting topic,” the other party said, ”So, if you want to shoot videos, follow the method I give you. It’s best to find someone to help with the shooting. If you just want to enjoy traveling, it’s not necessary. But if you really want to make it in social media, leverage your own strengths, and listen to me.”

Li Younan thought about it, and since Jing Chaoyi was over there, it would be just right to ask her to help with the shooting.

After waiting for a while, the other party sent the shooting script. It wasn’t very detailed, just pointed out a few must-have shots. Then the other party said, ”You must shoot these shots I gave you. The rest you can freely shoot. If you encounter something interesting, just remember to capture it.”

Li Younan repeatedly said, ”Okay.”

On short video platforms, Li Younan didn’t have message notifications enabled; otherwise, his phone would be constantly busy. But this also had a downside; if there are important private messages, he would miss them unavoidably.

Li Younan drove to the airport. Being a new driver, he took great effort to find a parking space and park the car. But what annoyed him was the parking spot was far from the terminal. Fortunately, he always leaves early, so after going through the checks and processes, he arrived at the boarding gate and checked his messages.

On WeChat, the irritable dude sent another message, ”Check your video’s stats.”

Li Younan was a bit surprised; from the time he uploaded the video until now, it had only been one morning. How much traffic can you get in one morning? However, when Li Younan opened the video, he was stunned.

14,000 likes, over 100,000 plays. As he was being amazed, jk Long sent another message, ”Did you see it?”

Li Younan quickly replied, ”Yes, yes, I was shocked. I’ve never seen so much traffic.”

jk Long said again, ”According to big data statistics, the user activity proportion in the morning is about 20%. If the video content is high quality and fits the public taste, releasing it at this time can quickly gain exposure and enter higher traffic pools. Generally, a viral video during this period can gain tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands of plays in a short time, with likes reaching tens of thousands, comments hundreds. It shows your video quality fully meets viral standards.”

”High-quality videos are like this.”

Li Younan realized with a jolt; what he said was correct. Tourists being picked to be lead stunt doubles and having intimate scenes with the female lead — these elements alone have buzz, and combined, they’re hard not to go viral.

Li Younan was extremely grateful to this irritable dude. In comparison, the 200 yuan reward was insignificant. Looking at his homepage, his followers exceeded 10,000.

jk Long seemed pleased too, not as irritable on WeChat, saying, ”Mainly it’s because your experience is interesting; I just tried to present your interesting experiences, at most achieving 80%.”

Li Younan’s mind moved, but he hesitated then brushed it off. He turned to talk about when he decided to set off after repairing a car, somewhat regretfully saying, ”If I had known then, I should’ve shot a video to start it all.”

But, the irritable dude blandly replied, ”What’s interesting about repairing cars?”

Li Younan’s emotions became strange, saying, ”If it were me, I would watch it.”

”Then you’re pretty bored.”

Li Younan was speechless again.

To think someone would find car repairs boring?

Afterward, Jk Long stopped sending messages.

He put down the phone and went to the nearby automatic water dispenser to pour a cup of water.

He sat on a cold plastic chair at the boarding gate, holding the cup of hot water.

The tarmac outside was empty, with only the plane standing quietly.

There weren’t many people around. The man opposite him leaned back on his chair, nodding heavily. Next to him, two young people were scanning their phones quickly. In the distance, the sound of suitcase wheels rolling on the ground hummed, and the broadcast occasionally made announcements; the sound was clear but emotionless, reporting other flight information.

Li Younan looked down at his boarding pass; the departure time was still far off. Since there was no hurry, he sipped the water, watching the comings and goings in the hallway.

Time passed slowly, as he quietly waited for the boarding announcement.
