Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 87: Chapter 83: Blue and White Porcelain

She excitedly took out her phone, her fingers flying over it: ”Look, look! I still have your video saved on my phone! The one where you rented an apartment and cooked in Xiamen! I’ve watched it so many times! I think it gives such a sense of happiness...”

The screen was almost pressed right against Li Younan’s nose.

Li Younan was a bit confused, instinctively glanced at Zhu Qingyue beside him.

She was still holding on to that awkward posture of getting ready to stand up, her smile completely frozen on her face, left there a bit at a loss.

She opened her mouth as if wanting to say something, but nothing came out, and finally she silently, slowly sat back down, picked up her untouched cup of coffee, and took a small sip.

Xiaoyu was completely immersed in the excitement of encountering Li Younan, quickly asking if he was filming a new video in Jingdezhen, if they could take a picture together, asking for Li Younan’s autograph, and details about car bed modifications...

Enthusiastic like a little fan encountering her idol.

Li Younan kind of understood the life of a celebrity now.

He was dealing with Xiaoyu’s barrage of questions while intermittently glancing at Zhu Qingyue.

She sat there quietly, her fingers unconsciously rubbing the rough surface of the coffee cup, looking up at the excited Xiaoyu and then at Li Younan, her mouth trying hard to curve upwards, but eventually only forming a very shallow, short arc, gently saying: ”That’s nice.”

...

It was truly a hurtful experience.

But to say this experience made Zhu Qingyue feel really bad, well, not exactly.

These things are all coincidences, who could predict that her fan would also happen to be Li Younan’s fan, and even more coincidentally, the fan would prefer the more tangible video blogger whose appearance and life she can see, compared to a never-met author.

Finally, Xiaoyu managed to calm down her internal excitement a bit, only then remembering the purpose of her visit here.

She glanced left and right before her gaze returned to Zhu Qingyue’s face again.

Zhu Qingyue slowly sipped her coffee, using her hand to tuck the loose hair behind her ear.

Xiaoyu’s expression turned awkward for a moment, and she dumbly asked: ”You... you wouldn’t happen to be Happy Red Bean Bun, right?”

Upon hearing this pen name, even Li Younan beside her couldn’t help but pause.

Zhu Qingyue nodded: ”That’s me, hello.”

”Ah! Bean Bun Madam! I’m sorry, sorry! I’m so excited! I really love your novels! Truly! Um... can we take a picture together? All of us!”

Every time Li Younan heard this bizarre pen name, he felt a sense of disconnect.

Zhu Qingyue put down her cup, once again sporting a smile on her face. ”Sure,” she said steadily, ”let’s do it.”

She stood up, walked to stand next to Li Younan, her shoulder gently touching his arm.

Xiaoyu held up her phone, the lens facing the three of them.

She suddenly thought of something, curiously asked: ”Oh, by the way, you two are...”

”Just friends,” Zhu Qingyue said, glancing at Li Younan.

”Wow, the friends of talented people are also talented people! That’s exactly my life fantasy!” Xiaoyu exclaimed.

Li Younan felt Zhu Qingyue’s shoulder lightly move, probably adjusting her expression.

After taking the picture, Xiaoyu was still chirping away, suggesting if they should visit the nearby handmade market together.

For Xiaoyu, today was a day of happiness.

She encountered an idol.

And also met another idol.

Idols who are friends.

Later, they strolled around the nearby handmade stalls, and Xiaoyu bought a pair of blue and white cups, giving one to Li Younan and Zhu Qingyue as a keepsake.

When parting, she shook hands with Li Younan, saying: ”Be sure to let me know when you’re broadcasting live! Why don’t you have a fan group yet... Also, Bean Bun Madam, I’ll definitely follow your new book!”

She bounced away, her silhouette full of energy.

”Ahem.” Li Younan cleared his throat, ”Haha, your fan...”

”Hmm, curious. I thought I was the main character...”

Li Younan paused, suddenly feeling a tad... jealous?

Zhu Qingyue suddenly burst into laughter: ”Don’t get any wrong ideas!”

The wind blew a few strands of her unpinned hair across her forehead.

”Ha...”

...

Xiaoyu was just a tiny interlude in their journey, the trip continued.

Zhu Qingyue wasn’t a lively girl; generally she was quiet, but every now and then she would chat playfully about some culturally rich topics.

Li Younan began somewhat understanding why Zhu Qingyue enjoyed traveling to places with rich cultural tones, as such places allow you to meet many interesting, unique people.

Zhu Qingyue writes novels. Every person she occurs, every personality she meets, every experience she feels, brings her unrivaled inspiration.

Upon arriving in Jingdezhen, Li Younan hadn’t really thought of many travel plans here; he was adopting a just-roll-with-it mindset, casually experiencing things.

In contrast, Zhu Qingyue’s goals were much clearer.

The first day they experienced the place where the raw clay was made, and in the whole process of making ceramics, there was even greater craftsmanship involved.

After meeting the fan today, Zhu Qingyue’s next target was to go to Laochang Village to experience ceramic painting.

Li Younan just happened to have no plans, so he followed suit.

...

”Blue and white porcelain, it belongs to the world.”

”What I mean is, it influenced the aesthetics globally.”

When Zhu Qingyue spoke this sentence, Li Younan blinked, seeing in this girl’s eyes a kind of depth not typical for her age.
