Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 95: Chapter 85: Atypical Internet Celebrity

Yang Hui was slightly taken aback: ”It’s hard to say...”

Li Younan laughed: ”I think so too.”

Yang Hui pondered for a moment, then also smiled.

At this moment, Yang Hui looked at Li Younan, and the professional detachment on her face had eased considerably. She took out her phone to search for Li Younan’s account, while he watched a video on his phone and she reviewed the contract.

After a while, Yang Hui said in surprise: ”Your interests are quite broad... parkour, cooking, and woodworking? That’s not quite... usual.”

”Just messing around,” Li Younan had finished looking over the contract by this point and put it down, ”When you’re traveling alone, you need to find something to do. Shooting videos also serves as a record, and it’s a way to meet new friends and learn about new places.”

Li Younan picked up the letter of intent and pointed to a clause about content modification rights, saying, ”This clause, if it’s about factual errors or guidance issues, I completely understand. But if it’s about style or points I personally find interesting, I hope we can communicate a bit? Of course, the bigger direction will definitely follow your promotional needs.”

She nodded and this time agreed readily: ”This can be negotiated. We mainly worry that the content is too... frivolous, or has significant issues.” Her tone noticeably softened, ”Honestly, Younan, after chatting with you, I feel you’re quite down-to-earth, not like... um... someone floating around.”

”Keeping it grounded lets you go further.” Li Younan smiled, ”I think there are no other problems. How about we schedule the specific shoot for tomorrow, does that work for you?”

Yang Hui completely relaxed and held out her hand: ”Deal! Let’s set it for now, and later I’ll have our script director contact you to send over the detailed creative and script for further discussion!”

...

Later wasn’t much later.

Li Younan had just been out for a short walk when Yang Hui contacted him.

This time there were two more people in the meeting room, one was a man carrying a professional camera, and the other was a sharp-looking young man, the script director.

”Younan, this is our center’s cameraman Brother Zhang and the script director Xiaoliu.”

Yang Hui introduced them and handed a more detailed plan to Li Younan, ”We discussed and thought your parkour idea is especially suitable for linking city landmarks, and it has strong visual impact. We’d like to have a professional team from our side to shoot it, while you handle the on-screen presence and actions. What do you think? This way we can ensure better content quality.”

Li Younan carefully examined the plan.

Their idea was quite clever, wanting to use parkour moves to link places like Tengwang Pavilion, Bayi Square, Shenjin Tower, and the Manshou Palace Historical Cultural Street. The visual design included long shots, medium shots, and a first-person perspective shot from a sports camera mounted on him.

It’s a bit similar to the videos edited by Brother Long from Xiamen.

”That’s great!” Li Younan nodded, ”Seeing the city while parkouring definitely offers a different perspective. However...” He turned to cameraman Brother Zhang: ”Brother Zhang, parkour moves are fast with many route changes, will that make filming difficult? Especially the follow shots.”

Brother Zhang grinned and patted his equipment: ”Don’t worry, we have experience with this. We’ll scout locations in advance, plan the routes and camera positions, and have wide-angle, telephoto, and stabilizers ready. We’ll also give you an action camera to mount on your helmet or chest for the subjective viewpoint. Plus, we have someone bringing a drone for aerial shots.”

Li Younan actually already had an action camera.

”Safety first,” the script director Xiaoliu chimed in, ”We’ll have safety staff along your planned route, and will keep the ground as clear as possible. You know your limits best, don’t push too hard.”

Yang Hui listened to them discuss the technical details, not saying much, but looking clearly more relaxed than during their first meeting.

As the discussion neared an end, she finally spoke: ”The filming period is about two days, focused shooting. We’ll handle the team, equipment, and post-production, while you focus on the on-screen presence and providing creative input. Payment is as discussed before, plus food, lodging, and insurance during filming. Is that okay with you?”

”That’s fair.” Li Younan agreed readily.

The compensation wasn’t high, but they provided manpower, expertise, and equipment, plus food and accommodation, which equates to experiencing professional team service for free and enjoying Nanchang to the fullest. Once the video is released, it will be a collaborative publication, which will bring him a wave of new exposure—not a bad deal.

”Let’s refine the script further, define the actions and intended feeling for each point to improve filming efficiency.”

”Sure!” Yang Hui made the decision, ”Xiaoliu, work with Younan on the storyboard script. Brother Zhang, make scouting arrangements.”

She turned to Li Younan and for once joked, ”Younan, this time don’t use our equipment as parkour props and jump over them. We’ve had a team before where the equipment almost got broken.”

Li Younan laughed too.

As he left the multimedia center, Nanchang’s sun was still blazing, heating up the ground.

Thinking about parkouring around the familiar city with a professional team was a bit exciting.

This shoot’s video would definitely be of higher quality than the one in Xiamen.

After all, they are professionals.
