Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 67: Chapter 66: Whatever You Need, Comes

What Li Younan didn’t expect was that during this time, it seemed as though his luck had suddenly changed, and good things were coming one after another.

On one hand, the third video related to cooking that he uploaded was selected by the short video platform as a featured video, which meant it was entering a larger pool of traffic.

On the other hand, Jk Long watched his parkour video and sent a message saying: ”This video is shot from a third-person perspective. It would be great to have one from a first-person perspective and show something like the Xiamen organ. I’ll edit the two videos together; this time, no storyline needed, just make it into that smooth-edited type with background music. By the way...” Then said, ”This video is shot with a gimbal; you’ve upgraded your equipment! The video quality is pretty good, high-definition.”

Li Younan sent a smiling emoji back, saying: ”Just found a buddy to help me shoot it among the passersby.”

However, K Long’s words reminded Li Younan.

This time on the trip to Xiamen, he had Jing Chaoyi as a companion, who could occasionally help him shoot videos from a third-person perspective.

However, for a long period ahead, it might be just solo traveling. In that case, the best method is to get some equipment that can shoot from a first-person perspective.

Once Li Younan found direction, he did some research online and was secretly amazed.

The slightly cheaper ones were still around 1,000-2,000, and among brands, the best ones were DJI and the GoPro frequently used by international pros.

Li Younan was hesitating whether to order one immediately, but to his surprise, Lady Luck favored him once again.

A guy continuously sent him tens of private messages from dozens of accounts, making it impossible for Li Younan not to notice.

Every single message from those accounts contained the same sentence: ”My WeChat is... add me, there’s something important to discuss.”

Li Younan thought this person was quite silly. Didn’t they know to introduce themselves before reaching out?

However, it was apparent that those dozens of messages weren’t sent via bot accounts but probably from friends in real life helping to reach out.

So, Li Younan used a backup WeChat account to add the person, thinking that if they didn’t have anything significant to say, he could just ignore and delete them.

What he now had plenty of was time.

After adding them on WeChat, the person instantly sent a message: ”You’re quite something; it took dozens of accounts for you to add me.”

Li Younan responded good-naturedly, ”Who are you?”

The person sent over a photo, and as soon as Li Younan saw it, lying in bed, he burst into laughter.

The guy sent over a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed, his foot wrapped in white bandages like a loaf of bread.

Li Younan immediately knew it was the parkour mishap fellow, Zhou Xiaotiao.

Li Younan asked, ”Why are you looking for me?”

Zhou Xiaotiao said, ”Didn’t expect you could do parkour, and at quite a level too.”

Li Younan responded flatly, ”Yeah.”

Zhou Xiaotiao then said, ”I have an ad deal in hand, but I’m injured now and can’t take it. If you’re interested, I can recommend you to the business.”

Li Younan felt a tiny surge in his heart and asked, ”What deal is it?”

The other said, ”It’s for DJI’s latest sports camera.”

Li Younan paused for a moment and curiously asked, ”Why recommend it to me?”

This time, Zhou Xiaotiao didn’t text but sent over a voice message.

As soon as Li Younan played it, he heard the guy’s slightly raspy voice: ”First, you embarrassed that South Korean kid, which made me happy; second, this ad isn’t for just anyone; it doesn’t care about follower count but rather your parkour skills and potential. If you’re interested, I’ll have the manufacturer contact you.”

Li Younan didn’t take long to agree, as this was certainly a good thing. He was in need of a sports camera and was considering trying to get DJI to sponsor him one.

Soon enough, someone from DJI contacted Li Younan. For promotion staff like them, time is precious, so they got straight to the point.

”Hello, is this Younan Li? Recommended by Zhou Xiaotiao. We’ve evaluated your account and find it quite promising. We have a promotional collaboration here involving a sports camera. Are you interested?”

Li Younan asked, ”What’s involved? What do I need to do, and what can you offer me?”

The other replied, ”What you need to do is very simple. Just take our sports camera and shoot a first-person video that meets our requirements, and after our review, publish it on your homepage. We’ll provide paid traffic for you.”

Li Younan paused briefly. Without a doubt, shooting this video, disregarding the compensation, merely the fact that they would invest paid traffic, was already generous.

Such a big company would likely invest at least millions of views in traffic, conveniently boosting his account’s popularity.

Thinking it over, Li Younan replied, ”Sounds pretty easy...”

The other continued, ”For one such video, based on the conversion rate of the traffic, you’ll receive a cash reward between 5,000 to 20,000 yuan.”

He checked online market prices, and it turned out the compensation they offered was even higher.

Upon hearing this, Li Younan felt tempted. Despite not having a large follower base, a single video could earn this much. It seems as soon as a content creator grows their account significantly, earning money becomes a breeze.

He thought it over again and asked, ”But I don’t have a sports camera here.”

The person sent a sweating emoji, then said, ”You’re kidding, of course, we’ll provide the camera, loan it to you. Zhou Xiaotiao mentioned you’re in Xiamen, we have a storage center here, and can get the camera and matching harness to you by this afternoon at the latest.”

Li Younan stroked his chin thoughtfully, pondered over the wording, and sent the message: ”Would you be interested in a long-term collaboration?”

The person seemed a bit stunned: ”Long-term collaboration?”

...

After negotiations, Li Younan received a high-end sports camera, along with a chest-mounted harness and a helmet for head mounting. Additionally, his shop window now featured a DJI sports camera.

...

The sky was barely starting to brighten, with a slight chill of sea air. Breathing it in felt fresh and crisp in the lungs.

Li Younan and Jing Chaoyi arrived at the port. The 40 yuan ticket was enough to ferry them to Gulangyu Island.

Prior to arriving here, Jing Chaoyi had done plenty of mental preparation. Because there was a lot of online criticism about this place being a ”big scam”, with frequent comments on over-commercialization and lack of interest, Jing Chaoyi felt uneasy. But since they came, not exploring felt like a waste. Li Younan reassured her, ”It’s okay, anyway, the ferry ticket is quite cheap.”

The cheap ticket was Jing Chaoyi’s only consolation. They took the earliest ferry, arriving on the island in the dawn hours.

There weren’t many tourists yet, and Li Younan wore his most comfortable shoes, stepping onto the rough stones, producing a rustling sound.

Jing Chaoyi suddenly said, ”What a pity, I can’t play the piano. They say this place is called Piano Island, and everyone can play the piano.”

Li Younan turned his head, ”Playing the piano?”
