Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 89: Chapter 84: Photography: Birding Diary [6,000 Words]

The next stop is Nanchang.

Li Younan’s plan is to go from Nanchang to Hunan, and finally enter Sichuan from Hunan.

But just as he was about to set off from Jingdezhen, Li Younan hesitated.

Isn’t Poyang Lake a lake... one of those big lakes you can see on the map?

There are two main routes across Poyang Lake, one from the north and the other from the south.

If going to Nanchang, naturally, taking the southern route would be closer.

But that way, he’d miss a lot of the northern scenery, and if he chose the northern route, then he wouldn’t be able to see some places in the south.

Li Younan lay in bed, feeling conflicted for quite a while. Then, he slowly sat up and thought helplessly that trying to see all the scenery at once wasn’t realistic. Life is long, so he might as well just choose one route.

Li Younan closed his eyes and chose the northern route. Then he looked at the places along the way and realized he could pass through the town of Wucheng.

This place is also known as Wucheng Migratory Bird Town, as the name suggests, it’s a place to watch migratory birds and is famous for its wetlands.

Li Younan isn’t as interested in ancient towns as Zhu Qingyue. Nowadays, most ancient towns are the same, heavily commercialized, and feel the same everywhere.

What interested Li Younan more was that there was a campsite and a viewing platform here. After camping, he could climb to the viewing platform to see the whole view of Poyang Lake.

Of course, the famous migratory bird habitat couldn’t be seen now, as the birds usually gather at Poyang Lake during winter, and it’s currently July.

But Li Younan wasn’t too disappointed. In July, Poyang Lake is in its high-water season, so seeing the spectacle of the water highway is quite nice too.

After deciding on the route, Li Younan was no longer conflicted. He sent all the videos he had taken during the day, including a video of the craftswoman, to JK Long.

After a while, JK Long replied, ”Is the theme of this video about the porcelain-painting lady?”

Li Younan replied, ”Yes, can you edit it?”

Brother Long paused and said, ”Editing this video isn’t hard, but compared to others, the theme is a bit serious. If done well, it could get many likes, and some official sources might even secretly boost it for you, but editing alone is easy. The hard part is the script.”

Brother Long hesitated for a moment and said, ”Honestly, I’m not great at writing artsy scripts.”

Li Younan had a sudden thought, his eyes twinkling, and said, ”Hold on a moment.”

He then messaged Zhu Qingyue, ”Can you help me write a script for the video from today?”

Zhu Qingyue replied shortly after, ”Is it about that lady?”

Li Younan said, ”Yes, yes. I wrote five or six drafts myself, but none satisfy me. Your writing is far better than mine, so I thought of you.”

Zhu Qingyue sent a smirking emoji and said, ”Let me see the scripts you wrote.”

Li Younan looked at the screen with a slightly embarrassed smile, coughed, and replied, ”Never mind.”

Zhu Qingyue didn’t press the matter and said, ”Sure, it’s perfect since I had some inspiration today too and was writing a bit. I’ll give it to you to use.”

Li Younan said, ”Don’t worry, I’ll pay you for the copyright.”

After sending this, Zhu Qingyue didn’t reply for a long time and finally sent, ”I know you weren’t intentional, but please don’t say that in the future. It’s something I don’t like.”

”I don’t want money. If it were about the money, I wouldn’t give you the script.”

Li Younan blinked at the message, gently tapped his head...

You can’t discuss money with an artistic girl...

After settling the script issue, Li Younan quickly messaged Brother Long, ”Brother Long, I’ve got the script sorted out. Do you need it to start editing the video?”

JK Long replied, ”I can come up with a rough cut first, and adjust it a bit once I have the script.”

Suddenly, he sent a screenshot, showing Zhu Qingyue, who appeared in the video not many times, and asked, ”Who is she?”

Li Younan replied, ”A friend of mine.”

JK Long asked again, ”Weren’t you traveling alone before? How come you suddenly have a friend with you?”

Li Younan didn’t think much of it and explained briefly that Zhu Qingyue was a friend he met while traveling before, and coincidentally they were both traveling in this region, so they were traveling together for a few days.

JK Long replied with an ”Oh” and said, ”You could have her help shoot some third-person videos.”

And that topic was skipped over.

...

Zhu Qingyue had no objections to the route Li Younan decided on.

At seven in the morning, the heat of Jingdezhen hadn’t fully risen.

The Cool Cruiser was parked by the roadside, its engine’s silent rumbling steady.

Zhu Qingyue opened the car door, got in, and placed her canvas bag at her feet, the hard corner of a notebook visible inside.

She fastened her seatbelt, yawned, and said, ”The script’s done. I’ll send it to you later.”

Li Younan blinked, noticing the slight dark circles under Zhu Qingyue’s eyes, and couldn’t help but ask, ”Did you stay up late to finish it last night?”

Zhu Qingyue glanced at Li Younan, stretched lazily, and slowly said, ”Actually, the script was done by eight in the evening, but I wasn’t satisfied, so I kept revising it, until two in the morning. After a nap, I still felt uneasy in a daze, then got up and reverted to the first version...”
