Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1689: 1688 How Strictly Do You Control Him

Yi Pin Xuan Pavilion

Luo Haofeng arrived before Bai Xiaoxiao and Meng Ke.

He didn’t wait in the private room but stood on the first floor waiting for them.

Seeing Meng Ke and Bai Xiaoxiao walking in arm in arm, intimately, Luo Haofeng’s eyes slightly dimmed for a moment, but it was just a fleeting oddity.

Quickly, a smile appeared on his face, lighting up his handsome features that had evolved from devilish to stern.

With one hand in his pocket, he stood elegantly and comfortably in the staircase waiting for them to come over, “Boss Meng, Xiaoxiao.”

“President Luo, sorry for keeping you waiting. It started raining and fogging earlier, so I drove slower for safety.”

Luo Haofeng smiled and shook hands with Meng Ke, accompanied by the waiter upstairs, “Safety first is right. I just got here as well.”

Even though there were only three of them, they used Yi Pin Xuan’s largest and most elegantly decorated private room.

That was the private room usually reserved for Mo Xiuchen and his friends, not open to the public.

After taking their seats, Luo Haofeng had the waiter serve the dishes.

He not only ordered Bai Xiaoxiao’s favorite dishes but also had all the signature dishes of Yi Pin Xuan served.

“President Luo is truly a successful person. I am just playing small tricks. President Luo, you don’t have to keep calling me Boss Meng. Just call me Meng Ke.”

“Then I’ll call you Brother Meng.”

Luo Haofeng obliged, changing the way he addressed him.

Meng Ke was initially taken aback, then smiled and nodded, “It’s an honor to be called Brother by you, Brother Luo.”

If it weren’t for Bai Xiaoxiao, Meng Ke and people like Luo Haofeng probably wouldn’t have any interactions.

In the past, on one hand, his travel agency wasn’t strong enough and hadn’t received contracts from such large corporations like Haochen.

On the other hand, he and Luo Haofeng weren’t the same kind of people.

Though not from a poor background, Meng Ke’s family couldn’t compare to Luo Haofeng and his friends.

Luo Haofeng and Mo Xiuchen came from wealthy families, Qin Mu was from a high-ranking family, and Gu Kai’s family had a long history in the medical field, making their friendship seem natural.

Even though Meng Ke became Bai Xiaoxiao’s boyfriend and had some interaction with Mo Xiuchen and his friends, he still felt he couldn’t integrate into their circle.

“Brother Meng, you are too modest.”

Luo Haofeng smiled, his gaze shifting to Bai Xiaoxiao, and he asked casually, “Xiaoxiao, I heard from Xiao Yuting that you’re going to City B for a business trip next week?”

Bai Xiaoxiao smiled slightly and answered calmly, “Yes, Xiao Yuting came to the company on Monday to tell me and asked me to go with him.”

“There might be little snow next week, Xiaoxiao, so remember to bring more clothes.”

Meng Ke naturally interjected upon hearing their conversation.

Luo Haofeng raised an eyebrow and looked at Meng Ke, “Brother Meng, you indeed work in the tourism industry, to even know the weather a week in advance.”

“It’s an occupational hazard.”

Meng Ke smiled politely.

“Going to City B will only take one or two days, it won’t be too long.”

Bai Xiaoxiao’s words were meant as an explanation to Meng Ke.

The relationship she once had with Luo Haofeng was there, and now that she was going to his city for work, she didn’t want Meng Ke to have any thoughts.

“If Brother Meng is worried about Xiaoxiao, you can go along,” Luo Haofeng said jokingly, his gaze shifting between Bai Xiaoxiao and Meng Ke.

Outside the door, a knock sounded.

It was the waiters serving the dishes.

Just now, Luo Haofeng only asked for the dishes to be served and didn’t order anything specific, so Meng Ke didn’t know what he had ordered.

Now seeing the dishes served, they weren’t just Bai Xiaoxiao’s favorites but the signature dishes of Yi Pin Xuan.

In his heart, he didn’t feel relieved; instead, a hard-to-describe emotion arose.

If Luo Haofeng had been like Xiao Yuting, mocking and openly expressing his affection for Xiaoxiao, although it would bother him, he wouldn’t feel as uneasy as he did now.

But the man opposite, he was too gentlemanly.

Too elegant, too handsome, too…

He, as a man, even felt that Luo Haofeng was too excellent.

The more Luo Haofeng cared about Bai Xiaoxiao like an ordinary friend, even smiling while blessing him and Bai Xiaoxiao, Meng Ke felt as if a spice jar had been overturned in his heart, full of mixed feelings.

“Brother Meng, Xiaoxiao, the dishes aren’t all served yet. Let’s start eating.”

Luo Haofeng warmly invited Meng Ke and Bai Xiaoxiao, then took the drink just brought in, poured a glass for Bai Xiaoxiao first.

After handing it to her, he poured two glasses of wine, one for Meng Ke and one for himself.

“Brother Luo, I still have to take Xiaoxiao back to the company later…”

Before Meng Ke could finish, Luo Haofeng interrupted him, “This drink is a must. I’ve already arranged for a driver. Don’t worry, I’ll ensure Xiaoxiao gets back to the company safely.”

With that, he placed the wine in front of Meng Ke, smiling as he looked at him.

Bai Xiaoxiao lowered her eyes to look at the drink in front of her, not saying a word.

Meng Ke hesitated for two seconds, then turned his gaze to Bai Xiaoxiao, asking softly, “Xiaoxiao, can I drink?”

“Ah?”

Bai Xiaoxiao was staring at the drink, her thoughts drifting slightly without her realizing.

When Meng Ke’s voice sounded beside her, she didn’t react immediately. Opposite her, Luo Haofeng noticed Bai Xiaoxiao’s expression just now, his eyes moved slightly, and he curved his lips warmly, “Xiaoxiao, you usually have Brother Meng under such strict control. He doesn’t even dare to drink without your permission.”

Hearing this, Bai Xiaoxiao instinctively looked at Luo Haofeng instead of Meng Ke.

Luo Haofeng’s words reminded her of that night.

What she said to his secretary over the phone.

The next morning, he called her, and she repeated those words to him…

Meeting Bai Xiaoxiao’s gaze, Luo Haofeng’s eyes flickered.

Beside them, Meng Ke noticed the eye contact between the two, his gaze shifting slightly.

He didn’t know if it was his imagination, but it felt like when Luo Haofeng and Bai Xiaoxiao locked eyes, the air between them was tinted with a subtle vibe.

It seemed they could understand each other’s thoughts just through eye contact, without saying anything.

Seeing Meng Ke lower his head, Luo Haofeng’s lips curved into a charming arc. He lifted the wine glass in front of him, “Xiaoxiao, you must let Brother Meng drink this glass. You too, lift your glass.”

Bai Xiaoxiao responded softly and turned to Meng Ke, “A drink or two shouldn’t be a problem. I’ll drive when we head back later.”

Meng Ke immediately looked up, smiling gently at Bai Xiaoxiao, then lifted his glass and said to Luo Haofeng, “Since Xiaoxiao agrees, I can accompany Brother Luo for a few drinks.”

Bai Xiaoxiao also lifted her drink.

Luo Haofeng saw them both lift their glasses, his smile deepened, and he cheerfully said, “Brother Meng, seeing you and Xiaoxiao so happy, as Xiaoxiao’s friend, I’m reassured.”

At this point, he shifted his gaze from Meng Ke to Bai Xiaoxiao.

His gaze paused on her face for a second before he withdrew his eyes and continued, “I wish you both eternal happiness.”

“Thank you, Brother Luo,” Meng Ke said, then gently looked at Bai Xiaoxiao.

Bai Xiaoxiao also smiled a little, looked at no one, and raised her head to drink the drink down.
