Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1658: Chapter 1657: Meeting His Parents

What came to my ears was Meng Ke’s laughter.

After the laughter, I finally heard him say, “How could I blame you, Xiaoxiao? I actually didn’t want Yao Yao to go with me. She doesn’t even know Doctor Gu and Mrs. Gu. If she really went, it would have been awkward.”

“Didn’t Shi Yao tell you she didn’t go to the hospital?”

Bai Xiaoxiao asked with some curiosity after hearing Meng Ke’s words.

She lifted the quilt, got out of bed, poured herself a glass of water, and then returned to bed.

“It was my mom who said Yao Yao went to the hospital with you.” Meng Ke paused slightly, “Maybe Yao Yao didn’t tell her that she ended up going to the welfare home instead.”

Li Shi Yao certainly didn’t dare to say so.

Bai Xiaoxiao held back her laughter.

That afternoon, when Li Shi Yao wanted to stay at the welfare home, she asked Xiaoxiao to keep it a secret.

To make sure not to tell her mom and aunt that she didn’t go to the hospital with Bai Xiaoxiao.

“Xiaoxiao, Luo Haofeng has a girlfriend.”

On Sunday morning, Bai Xiaoxiao and Wen Ran were chatting at the marble table in her yard. Not far away, Mo Xiuchen was playing with the three little ones in the yard.

Just as Wen Ran spoke, Bai Xiaoxiao reached out to grab a pecan.

Hearing this, her hand trembled, and the pecan she was holding slipped back into the fruit plate.

In her heart surged an indescribable emotion.

Bai Xiaoxiao’s expression also changed slightly.

Wen Ran didn’t speak further, just looked at her with concern.

Calming herself internally, Bai Xiaoxiao pressed her lips together and met Wen Ran’s concerned gaze with a light smile, asking nonchalantly, “Did he meet her through a blind date?”

“Yes, they met through a blind date.”

Wen Ran explained with a smile, “Last night, Luo Haofeng called Mo Xiuchen to say so.”

Bai Xiaoxiao smiled too, “He’s at the age to settle down.”

“Hasn’t Meng Ke been on a business trip for a week? When is he coming back?”

Seeing Bai Xiaoxiao’s somewhat forced smile, Wen Ran changed the topic.

“He’s coming back today, but I don’t know which flight, he didn’t tell me.”

Meanwhile, in City B.

Luo Haofeng parked the car, got out, and gracefully opened the car door for Tian Ruoyi, “Ruoyi, please step out.”

Sitting in the passenger seat, Tian Ruoyi was taken aback by Luo Haofeng’s address.

Seeing her startled look, Luo Haofeng couldn’t help but chuckle, lowering his voice, “In front of my parents later, you should call me by my name, don’t keep saying ‘Mr. Luo’.”

“Oh.”

Tian Ruoyi blinked and bent over to get out of the car.

They had just met through a blind date two nights ago, and already Luo Haofeng was bringing her home for a meal today, something she found a bit overwhelming.

On the way to Luo Haofeng’s house, he briefed Tian Ruoyi about his family situation.

However, Tian Ruoyi was in a low mood due to a phone call she received on the way.

A housekeeper came running from the direction of the living room, took the gift from Tian Ruoyi’s hands, and hurried inside.

In the living room, Wu Jingfang and Luo Rongbin were sitting on the sofa, drinking tea, waiting for Luo Haofeng to bring his girlfriend home.

As Luo Haofeng and Tian Ruoyi entered the living room together, Mother Luo quickly set down her teacup.

She stood up with a beaming smile.

Seeing Luo Rongbin still seated next to her, her expression changed and she gestured for him to stand up.

Luo Rongbin rolled his eyes, leisurely putting down his teacup before standing up.

“Mom and Dad, I brought Ruoyi to meet you.”

Luo Haofeng brought Tian Ruoyi to the sofa, handed the gift to the housekeeper, and smilingly introduced her to Father Luo and Mother Luo.

After his words, he turned to Tian Ruoyi with a gentle smile, introducing, “Ruoyi, this is my mom, and this is my dad.”

“Hello, Uncle and Aunt.”

Tian Ruoyi’s graceful and polite manner greatly pleased Mother Luo.

Her smile became even more radiant, happily inviting Tian Ruoyi, “Miss Tian, come sit over here. Honey, you go to that sofa.”

Tian Ruoyi glanced at Luo Haofeng.

Luo Haofeng nodded at her, “Mom, don’t scare Ruoyi.”

Father Luo stood up and moved to another sofa.

Once Tian Ruoyi sat down, Mother Luo took her hand, appraising her with satisfaction, and said with a smile, “I’ll call you Ruoyi from now on, it sounds more affectionate.”

“Ah Feng, see what fruit Ruoyi likes to eat, and ask the auntie to bring some more.”

Luo Haofeng acknowledged with a ‘okay’ and turned to leave.

As soon as he left, Mother Luo asked Tian Ruoyi, “Ruoyi, do your parents know you’re here today?”

Tian Ruoyi nodded with a smile, “Auntie, Haofeng picked me up from home, my parents know I’m here.”

“That’s good. I was afraid your parents didn’t know and would worry.”

Mother Luo explained briefly before continuing, “Has Ah Feng met your parents yet?”

“Yes, he has.”

Although Tian Ruoyi didn’t understand why Mother Luo asked this, she answered nonetheless.

“Ruoyi, I remember you returned a month ago, right? What work are you doing now…”

“Mom, don’t question Ruoyi like she’s a suspect; she just returned a month ago, not a year, there’s no rush to work.”

Luo Haofeng reappeared, bringing two trays of fruit, interrupting Mother Luo’s inquiry.

Mother Luo glared at him, “Don’t talk nonsense, I’m just trying to get to know Ruoyi better. Once you get married…”

“Mom.”

With Luo Haofeng’s interruption, Mother Luo couldn’t continue her sentence.

Tian Ruoyi maintained a graceful smile throughout, showing no impatience despite Mother Luo’s many questions.

Seeing Luo Haofeng repeatedly interrupt his mother, she softly responded, “I haven’t found a job yet. After several years abroad, I just returned and want to spend some time with my parents first.”

Mother Luo immediately smiled, complimenting, “Ruoyi, from the moment I saw you, I felt you were an elegant, dignified, outstanding, and dutiful girl. I wasn’t wrong; it’s good that you’re doing it this way. However, Aunt has a suggestion—would you like to hear it?”

“Auntie, please go ahead.”

Tian Ruoyi displayed a look of attentive listening.

Mother Luo smiled and said, “Now that you’re dating Ah Feng, there’s no need to look for work elsewhere. You can work in our own company, and that way, you can spend more time with Ah Feng and get to know each other better.”

“This…”

Tian Ruoyi showed a trace of embarrassment.

Looking up at Luo Haofeng.

She and Luo Haofeng weren’t really dating; they were just pretending.

However, she seemed unable to refuse Mother Luo directly.

Luo Haofeng had expected his mother to suggest this. When he saw Tian Ruoyi looking his way, he smiled, “Ruoyi, have some fruit.”

“Okay.”

Tian Ruoyi nodded, as Luo Haofeng continued, “Mom, your suggestion is great. Ruoyi, if you’re willing, you’re always welcome to work at our company.”
