Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1661: Chapter 1660: Love Rival

Bai Xiaoxiao noticed Li Shi Yao’s behavior and asked jokingly, “Shi Yao, why aren’t you speaking?”

“Sister Xiaoxiao, I…”

Li Shi Yao’s eyes flickered, and she said regretfully, “Just pretend you didn’t hear what I said earlier, and please don’t let my cousin know.”

“Why? Could it be that your cousin has some unspeakable relationship with that woman who likes him at the travel agency?”

Bai Xiaoxiao looked at Li Shi Yao with feigned curiosity.

“No, no, of course not.”

Being questioned by Bai Xiaoxiao, Li Shi Yao shook her head frantically, waving her hands.

Bai Xiaoxiao only asked one question and then fell silent.

Li Shi Yao secretly observed Bai Xiaoxiao for a few seconds and then spoke softly, “Sister Xiaoxiao, my cousin really doesn’t like that woman. Part of the reason for the incident with the tour group in Country M is because of that woman.”

“Sister Xiaoxiao, are you angry?”

“No, I just want to focus on driving.” Bai Xiaoxiao forced a smile.

Li Shi Yao pursed her lips. Seeing that Bai Xiaoxiao didn’t seem to want to talk, she dared not say anything more.

Afraid that the more she spoke, the worse it would get.

If her cousin found out, he would definitely scold her again.

At the airport, after waiting for twenty minutes, they saw Meng Ke coming out of security.

He wasn’t alone, nor was he with the travelers—he was with their travel agency’s guide.

Seeing the change in Li Shi Yao’s expression, Bai Xiaoxiao squinted her eyes slightly and then noticed Meng Ke’s surprise to see her there, instinctively looking towards the woman beside him.

Bai Xiaoxiao recalled what Li Shi Yao had said on the way.

“Cousin, over here, I brought Sister Xiaoxiao along.” Li Shi Yao waved at Meng Ke and glanced at the woman following him, her expression changing slightly, “Cousin, why is she with you?”

“Yao Yao, don’t be so rude.”

Meng Ke’s eyes flickered slightly, glanced reproachfully at Li Shi Yao, and took two steps to stand in front of Bai Xiaoxiao.

When he looked at her, a warmth instantly colored his gaze, unable to conceal his delight, “Xiaoxiao, why did you come?”

Bai Xiaoxiao shrugged, “Shi Yao insisted on bringing me, so I had to come.”

“I just wanted to surprise you.”

Seeing Meng Ke look over, Li Shi Yao hurried to explain.

Who knew he would bring Xu Wanqi with him.

“Xiaoxiao, let me introduce you, this is Xu Wanqi, our travel agency’s guide. She got injured in Country M this time, so she came back with me.”

After explaining, Meng Ke then looked at Xu Wanqi standing behind him, “Wanqi, this is my girlfriend, Bai Xiaoxiao. I won’t be sending you home later. You can take a taxi home, and come back to work once you’re healed.”

A flash of hostility crossed Xu Wanqi’s eyes as she looked at Bai Xiaoxiao.

“Hello, Miss Bai, I’m sorry, my arm is injured.”

When Bai Xiaoxiao reached out her hand, Xu Wanqi refused to shake hands under the pretense of her arm being injured.

“Your left arm is injured, but your right hand isn’t.”

Li Shi Yao instantly expressed her indignation on behalf of Bai Xiaoxiao.

Bai Xiaoxiao withdrew her hand, brushed the hair from her ear, and smiled indifferently, “I wasn’t considerate enough. In that case, Meng Ke, why don’t you take Miss Xu home? It’s inconvenient for her to carry luggage with an injured arm.”

She lowered her eyes and glanced at the luggage in Meng Ke’s hand.

Meng Ke’s expression also changed slightly.

Because of Xu Wanqi’s deliberate difficulty for Bai Xiaoxiao, and also because Bai Xiaoxiao glanced at the luggage in his hand, the suitcase was Xu Wanqi’s.

He himself only had a small carry-on bag.

“Senior, I still have things to discuss with you.” If just now Xu Wanqi not shaking hands with Bai Xiaoxiao was a lack of face.

Then now, her words were equivalent to directly declaring war on Bai Xiaoxiao.

They had only discussed half of what they talked about on the plane, meaning she wanted Meng Ke to take her home.

Bai Xiaoxiao suddenly felt like laughing.

And she actually did laugh. If it were another woman being provoked like this, she would definitely be angry.

But she laughed, while Meng Ke’s expression flashed with a hint of panic and tension, his face darkened as he told Xu Wanqi, “If there’s anything, wait until you’re back at work to say it.”

“Yao Yao, help Wanqi with the suitcase, and see her to the car.”

“Okay.”

Even though Li Shi Yao was unwilling, seeing Meng Ke’s stern expression, she dared not refuse, stepped forward to take the luggage handle, glared at Xu Wanqi, and said coldly, “Let’s go, Miss Xu.”

Xu Wanqi pursed her lips in grievance, gave a cold glance at Bai Xiaoxiao, and said to Meng Ke, “Senior, then I’ll leave first.”

The smile on Bai Xiaoxiao’s face faded with Xu Wanqi’s departure.

“Xiaoxiao, don’t be mad. Wanqi has been under stress these past few days, maybe that’s why she was rude to you.”

Meng Ke reached out to hold Bai Xiaoxiao’s hand, but she subtly dodged it.

As if she hadn’t heard his explanation, Bai Xiaoxiao responded indifferently, “Let’s go, I’m hungry. Let’s eat first.”

If Bai Xiaoxiao had known the scene at the airport would be like this, she would never have come.

Watching Bai Xiaoxiao turn to leave, Meng Ke didn’t immediately follow; instead, he took out his phone and sent a voice message to Li Shi Yao.

Bai Xiaoxiao got in the car, looking ahead at Meng Ke walking over, recalling Xu Wanqi calling him “Senior” and his slightly changing expression.

She unconsciously frowned.

Meng Ke entered the car without fastening his seatbelt, instead starting to explain, “Xiaoxiao, Xu Wanqi is my junior, but other than that, I have no other relationship with her.”

“She likes you, doesn’t she?”

Bai Xiaoxiao turned her eyes to him briefly, then looked out the window, “Why hasn’t Shi Yao come yet?”

“Oh, Yao Yao left with Xu Wanqi. Xiaoxiao, if you’re mad, you can yell at me or even hit me.”

Meng Ke felt Bai Xiaoxiao was angry.

Although she didn’t show it, he believed any woman would be angry in this situation.

“You just said she’s merely your junior, so why would I be angry?”

“Xiaoxiao.”

Meng Ke called softly.

The calmer and more indifferent she acted, the more uneasy he felt inside.

Bai Xiaoxiao didn’t speak and started the car.

The atmosphere inside the car grew increasingly tense with each passing second of silence.

Stifling air filled the car.

Meng Ke, watching Bai Xiaoxiao who was focused on driving, couldn’t hold back any longer and spoke, “Xiaoxiao, if you don’t want Xu Wanqi staying in the travel agency, I’ll have her leave immediately.”

“…”

Bai Xiaoxiao glanced at him without replying.

Meng Ke lowered his eyes a bit and apologized, “I handled this poorly; I knew Xu Wanqi liked me. Just because she was my junior, I didn’t make her leave.”

“No need to make her leave.”

Bai Xiaoxiao finally spoke.

Meng Ke looked at her, concerned, “Xiaoxiao, I mean it. If you don’t like it, I’ll have her leave right away.”

“I don’t want to be seen as someone who can’t tolerate your junior. Her liking you is her own issue.”

Bai Xiaoxiao thought of something and smiled again, “To quote Ranran, having a woman like you proves you’re excellent.”
