Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1667: Chapter 1666: Business Trip Together

Bai Xiaoxiao and Mo Xiuchen had a smooth conversation.

Both publicly and privately, Mo Xiuchen readily agreed to collaborate with their company.

Originally, Bai and Haochen Group had some business dealings before, and the current collaboration is just an addition.

Bai Xiaoxiao left Haochen Group already past four o’clock.

She drove back to the company, where Xiao Yuting was waiting for her in her office.

“Xiaoxiao, you’re finally back, why didn’t you answer my call?”

Xiao Yuting stood up from the sofa as soon as he saw Bai Xiaoxiao return.

Bai Xiaoxiao’s expression didn’t change as she walked to the sofa to sit down, motioning for Xiao Yuting who was standing there to sit down as well.

“I was in the middle of a business talk.”

“I heard Uncle Bai say you went to Haochen Group to see Wen Ran.” Xiao Yuting smiled gracefully as he took a seat.

The implication was that she went to see Wen Ran for fun, and he knew.

No need to lie to him anymore.

Bai Xiaoxiao didn’t get annoyed, just raised her delicate eyebrows slightly, “What do you want with me?”

“Of course, it’s business. If it wasn’t business, I wouldn’t count on you responding to me, right?” Xiao Yuting was quite aware of himself.

Ever since the year Bai Xiaoxiao canceled their engagement, she has been avoiding him like the plague.

“We just signed the contract a few days ago, you wouldn’t be checking the progress already, would you? Let me tell you, it won’t be that fast.”

Bai Xiaoxiao furrowed her brows, her gaze lightly drifting towards Xiao Yuting.

Xiao Yuting laughed heartily, “Xiaoxiao, I’m not urging you, just coming for a look. By the way, asking if you have time next week, let’s go to City B together.”

The mention of City B made Bai Xiaoxiao’s face slightly change.

She looked at Xiao Yuting with a sharp gaze, “What are we going to City B for?”

“Of course, it’s a business trip.”

Xiao Yuting squinted his eyes, his handsome face revealing a charming smile.

“I want to purchase a batch of special materials…” Xiao Yuting slightly leaned forward, suppressing his smile, and explained seriously to Bai Xiaoxiao.

Initially, Bai Xiaoxiao wanted to reject his proposal.

But Xiao Yuting said, “Xiaoxiao, our company is in partnership with Haochen Group now, I’ve told you this before. This time, besides inspecting that batch of special materials, we also need to visit the Luo Family. If you’re unfamiliar with their products, how can you…”

“I didn’t say I wouldn’t go.”

Bai Xiaoxiao coldly interrupted Xiao Yuting’s words.

From the moment Xiao Yuting mentioned that Luo Haofeng was involved in this cooperation, she knew she would inevitably meet.

Inevitably work together.

She couldn’t let her personal matters affect the company’s interests.

“That’s good, next Tuesday, a full week, no rush.” Xiao Yuting, seeing her agree, finally curved his lips in satisfaction.

Bai Xiaoxiao’s expression turned colder as she stood up from the sofa and walked towards the desk.

Xiao Yuting picked up the already cold tea, slowly bringing it to his lips, yet before tasting it, he lifted his head to watch Bai Xiaoxiao sitting down at her desk chair.

Bai Xiaoxiao didn’t glance at Xiao Yuting as she sat in the executive chair, as if she had forgotten him, her body sunk into the chair, staring blankly.

The room fell into silence.

Xiao Yuting’s eyes narrowed slightly, staring at Bai Xiaoxiao’s exquisitely beautiful face, although a veil of mist seemed to obscure it, making it unclear.

Her eyes lightly lowered, not knowing if she was staring at the desk or if her thoughts had drifted far away to an unknown place.

If it’s City B next week.

Bai Xiaoxiao couldn’t calm her heart.

Under the desk, her hands were tightly clasped together.

A vivid memory flashed before her eyes, of her secretly going to City B with Luo Haofeng to meet his parents years ago.

It’s ridiculous that she had forgotten many things but remembered that event clearly.

As if it happened just yesterday.

Xiao Yuting slowly leaned back into the sofa, quietly watching Bai Xiaoxiao.

Her expression occasionally revealed sadness, sometimes confusion, then changed to melancholy, even emotions he couldn’t read.

He guessed roughly that Bai Xiaoxiao’s absent-mindedness had something to do with Luo Haofeng.

He’s lying if he says he’s not jealous.

He always thought Bai Xiaoxiao had secretly loved him for over a decade, chasing after him for more than ten years. If she was to remember, she should remember him, Xiao Yuting.

Not Luo Haofeng.

This is something he might never understand in his lifetime.

He always caused her harm, but Luo Haofeng was different. He offered Bai Xiaoxiao a complete love.

How could Bai Xiaoxiao let go?

How much time passed.

A sharp phone ring startled Bai Xiaoxiao from her recollections.

Her body trembled slightly.

When she raised her head and saw Xiao Yuting leaning on the sofa, one hand holding his chin, scrutinizing her, she blinked.

“Why haven’t you left yet?”

Xiao Yuting’s mouth twitched slightly.

Bai Xiaoxiao turned her gaze away and answered the phone.

After seeing Bai Xiaoxiao finished the call, Xiao Yuting suddenly asked, “Xiaoxiao, what were you thinking just now, so deeply involved?”

Bai Xiaoxiao’s expression changed, frowning as she looked at Xiao Yuting.

“I definitely wasn’t thinking about you.”

Xiao Yuting chuckled, “I guess you weren’t thinking about Meng Ke either.”

“You…”

Bai Xiaoxiao’s face turned pale.

She felt a bit annoyed because Xiao Yuting had guessed her thoughts correctly.

This man, back when she was chasing after him, not only did he disdain to look at her but also constantly hurt her.

Now that she’s ignoring him, he chases after her instead.

“Xiaoxiao, do you have any work left? If not, let me treat you to dinner and a movie. By the way, I’ll tell you something you’ll be interested in.”

As Xiao Yuting spoke, he stood up, pulling at his suit.

“I have no interest in anything.”

Without thinking, Bai Xiaoxiao refused, “Moreover, I have a lot of work to do.”

“Xiaoxiao, I think you have a prejudice against me, we need to talk it out.” Xiao Yuting spoke calmly.

“For a pleasant collaboration in the future, could you be a bit friendlier to me? After all, I’m your ex-boyfriend, right?”

“Ha ha!”

Bai Xiaoxiao suddenly laughed.

Towards Xiao Yuting, she’s not annoyed nor fond at this moment.

It’s just that his words earlier irritated her, making her angry.

“Xiaoxiao, when I came to find you earlier, I met a woman leaving angrily. She seemed to be named Xu Wanqi, and I heard she waited for you at the company for several hours.”

Xiao Yuting looked at Bai Xiaoxiao with gentle eyes.

Bai Xiaoxiao’s smile froze briefly but soon returned to normal.

“Do you know her?”

Silently, Bai Xiaoxiao thought that what Xiao Yuting intended to tell her was probably related to Xu Wanqi.

If Xiao Yuting simply bumped into Xu Wanqi earlier, he wouldn’t have anything in particular she’d be interested in.

Seeing Xiao Yuting nod and with a self-assured smile on his lips, Bai Xiaoxiao squinted her eyes, “What do you want to treat me to?”
