Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1688: Chapter 1688 Strange Man and Woman

Bai Ruozhu was frantic with worry, feeling completely unable to calm down, but she could only remind herself repeatedly in her heart that she must stay calm, she must not lose her composure; Little Dengdeng was waiting for her to rescue him.

At this moment, a person doing business opposite shouted, ”I just saw the shopkeeper Liu taking that child inside. I thought it was someone staying at their inn bringing the child for you, but how did the child disappear? In broad daylight, kidnapping a child?”

Liu, the shopkeeper, angrily glared from the Main Gate and pointed at the person who spoke, shouting, ”Old Xu, even though we don’t get along on ordinary days, you can’t falsely accuse me of such a serious matter. Don’t delay their search for the child.”

The person called Old Xu slapped his thigh and said, ”Am I that type of person? I truly saw you lead the child inside, but in the blink of an eye, you were in the Main Hall again. Your speed is quite daunting!”

Bai Ruozhu understood immediately and said to Jianqi, ”Have someone keep an eye on everyone here, no one is allowed to leave, Yichun, let’s search the inn.”

Jiang Yichun brandished his sword and cut another piece of flesh from Nianrong’s arm, which stimulated her to wake up from her trance.

”What have you done to me?” she shouted somewhat fearfully.

Jiang Yichun dragged Bai Ruozhu upstairs, not bothering to give her another glance. Nianrong bit her lip, a shade of blood red, angrily saying, ”How can you treat me like this? You are always thinking about her, how can you be like this? What love potions did that woman feed you? You weren’t like this before!”

Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun were anxious to find the child, truly having no time to care about the already powerless Nianrong, but even so, Jiang Yichun felt a desire to hit her. What did she mean by ”not like this before”? Did they have a past?

He quickly glanced at his wife, thinking luckily she was not a jealous person, but this thought made him feel something was amiss.

However, his mind was more urgent now in finding Dengdeng; everything else could be pushed to the back of his mind.

The two checked Room by Room; since the child hadn’t been taken out of the inn, they would eventually find him, but it was late, and they feared Dengdeng was in danger.

Just as Bai Ruozhu opened a door, a gust of force came at them, and Jiang Yichun quickly pulled Bai Ruozhu away. They narrowly dodged that inner strength.

”Careful, it’s an expert!” Jiang Yichun warned, both realizing that nine times out of ten, this person was the master of disguise.

A deep voice came from inside, ”Which blind person dares to barge into anyone’s Room?”

”You’ve taken our child and here you are pretending? Nianrong is now in our hands. I advise you to return the child, and everyone can back down,” Bai Ruozhu forced herself to speak calmly.

”There are no children here, get out!” The voice inside was enraged, and inner strength was added to the voice, causing their ears to hurt slightly.

Jiang Yichun’s expression grew stern, knowing that inside was someone whose inner strength was profound, stronger than his own, making him not a match!

But even if it was a mountain of swords or a sea of flames, he must rescue his son!

He stood in front of Bai Ruozhu, whispering, ”You go out first, I’ll find him.”

Bai Ruozhu knew he was worried she’d get hurt, but how could she be at ease?

”You disguised as the shopkeeper and tricked my son away. Let’s be frank, what will it take for you to release the child?” Jiang Yichun stared at the bed curtain inside.

To be honest, they hadn’t seen the owner of the voice up to this moment; they only knew the voice came from behind the bed curtain, with the curtain slightly swaying, revealing two indistinct shadows inside.

The night had fallen, perhaps they were up to no good...

Wait a second, Bai Ruozhu suddenly felt something was off. If they had kidnapped Little Dengdeng, how could they immediately return to the Room to do such a thing? Was it to mislead, or were they too carefree?

Jiang Yichun clearly refused to think more. He suddenly drew his sword and charged at the bed curtain.

”Hand over my son!” Jiang Yichun shouted.

Bai Ruozhu dared not be careless, forming seals with one hand and rushing inside, commanding Xiaomao to attack the person.

”Ignorant!” the person bellowed, suddenly rushing out from the bed curtain, slapping Jiang Yichun’s sword. The sword, like a rainbow, was slapped away with his hand!

The person then swung the other hand, slapping the charging Furball so hard it flew.

”Oh, there’s even a small bug; a rare good poisonous insect indeed,” the person muttered. Furball shrunk back in terror and quickly fled onto Bai Ruozhu’s shoulder, burrowing into Space without coming out.

It couldn’t speak, but told Bai Ruozhu that this person was very strong and it was really scared.

Bai Ruozhu squinted at the man before her, a middle-aged man with slightly frost-touched temples but with sharp, oppressive eyebrows, like an unsheathed sword.

Then the bed curtain moved again as a woman emerged, her face showing some annoyance.

”Alright, stop bullying the juniors, can’t you just explain properly?” The woman looked about forty, her hair jet black and well-maintained.

She smiled at Bai Ruozhu, ”You’re worried about finding the child, I don’t blame you, but we truly did not take the child.”

Bai Ruozhu looked at the beautiful woman before her, feeling even stranger. These two seemed mysterious and powerful; were they really not part of Nianrong’s group?

”Lingdang, you’re too kind-hearted again. Do you think they will appreciate you? Forget it, for the sake of the two poisonous insects, I won’t bother arguing with them. Now get out!” the man shouted.

The woman tugged the man’s sleeve, complaining, ”Fen Jiu, your temper is always so bad. I just felt there was something different in the Cellar here; you should go check it out.”

Bai Ruozhu had many doubts, yet when she met the woman’s eyes, her heart unknowingly calmed down, as if her eyes carried some magic.

”Thank you for the warning, senior.” She pulled Jiang Yichun, suggesting they check the Cellar first, having someone watch these two; if it wasn’t them, it wouldn’t be too late to say.

Besides, she felt with these two’s skills, they could easily take Dengdeng or even rescue Nianrong, so there was no need to hide here doing misleading things?

Jiang Yichun thought the same way, pulling Bai Ruozhu along as they quickly left, soon finding the Cellar in the inn. As they rushed in, a shadow suddenly tossed Dengdeng out; both were shocked and hurried toward the son about to hit the ground, Jiang Yichun lunging forward to catch him in his arms.

Bai Ruozhu quickly reached out to check their son’s pulse, discovering Little Dengdeng was merely struck on the sleep acupoint, allowing her to breathe a big sigh of relief.

Yet turning back to search, the shadow was already gone without a trace. That person was also skilled in disguise, making it hard to track down.
