Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1685: Chapter 1685: Seasickness, Coma

No one expected Bai Ruolan to suddenly claw at the guard, and the guard somehow didn’t dodge, resulting in several blood scabs on his face!

Someone suddenly shouted, ”Oh my God, that crazy girl from the Bai family really kills people!”

”Let’s go, stop watching, be careful not to lose your life!”

”Goodness, that young man is so unlucky. With a ruined face, how is he going to find a wife?”

”...”

Bai Ruozhu’s lips twitched, scratching someone could lead to killing? These common people are just too easily startled!

But there’s another point that makes her feel strange, Bai Ruolan used to calm down easily upon seeing her, like she had found support, no matter how panicked she was. But recently, it doesn’t seem to be the case.

Last time, she almost clawed her, and it was Lin Pinger who helped block, resulting in several blood scabs. Why has Ruolan changed so much, could it be stimulated by Lamei’s death?

The scene was a bit chaotic, allowing no time for much thought. She quickly approached and suddenly pointed at Ruolan’s acupoint, making her temporarily fall asleep.

”Miss, it was my fault for not taking good care of Lady Ruolan.” The guard, whose face was scratched, hurriedly saluted, his voice tinged with the pain of the wounds.

”You should go and apply some medicine, have a good rest.” Bai Ruozhu gave the guard a reassuring look.

The steward who had returned hurried forward, ”Miss, the master and madam asked me to bring Lady Ruolan back and have you settle her down.”

Bai Ruozhu frowned, ”We’ll talk about it when we get back.”

She herself carried Ruolan and walked into the yard. The onlookers hadn’t dispersed yet, watching her strength with some surprise. Bai Ruozhu ignored them and quickly returned to the yard.

The steward followed Bai Ruozhu, and only when they were away from the main gate did he continue, ”No one knows what’s wrong with Lady Ruolan; she started making a fuss as soon as she woke up on the way and even ran away twice. When she was found, she was uncontrollably screaming, and the master and madam were afraid her condition would worsen, so they sent her back.”

Bai Ruolan originally refused to leave the yard, and Bai Ruozhu had no choice but to secretly use some sleeping powder to get her onto the horse carriage. It was a helpless act; the Bai family couldn’t bear to leave Bai Ruolan in the Capital City, and she had been away long enough that it was time to let her see her grandpa, grandma, and other family members.

But who knew she would wake up and go mad, even run away twice, no wonder Bai Yihong and his wife were scared.

”The master said that if something happened on the way back without bringing her home, it’s better to let her stay and recuperate in a familiar yard.” The steward added.

Bai Ruozhu nodded, ”You’ve worked hard, go and rest first.”

After the steward left, Bai Ruozhu checked Bai Ruolan’s pulse again, finding her body still the same old problem, she couldn’t help but sigh.

It seems, as her father thought, it’s necessary to let Ruolan stay in a familiar place.

She tidied up Bai Ruolan’s scattered hair, gave some instructions to the maid in the yard, and hurried to the Main Hall.

Seeing Yu Hongxiu, she apologized, ”Sorry for making you wait for so long, let’s have a meal before you leave.”

”Alright, make sure to give me plenty. Now I’m not eating for one anymore.” Yu Hongxiu probably noticed her mood wasn’t good and deliberately joked to help her relax.

”Sure, eat as much as you want, and if you can’t finish, you can pack the rest!” Bai Ruozhu said with a smile.

After Yu Hongxiu left, Bai Ruozhu found Zhang Liliang, Fusa, and Guizhi and instructed them to pay more attention to Ruolan, entrusting her care to them while she was away from the Capital City.

Because of Bai Ruolan’s commotion at the Bai Family’s main gate, some unpleasant rumors began circulating again in the Capital City, even previously debunked rumors about the Bai family were being brought up again. Bai Ruozhu didn’t know if the common people’s imagination was rich or if someone was stirring things up, but she was too eager to leave and didn’t have the mind to focus on it.

Anyway, by the time they return to the Capital City, those rumors should have dissipated, and the common people will have turned their attention to new affairs.

Thus, the next morning, Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun, carrying Little Dengdeng, Granny Zhang, and others, set off with a team, successfully leaving the Capital City.

The group moved westward along the road, intending to switch to waterway later, in the wish to reunite with family quickly, Bai Ruozhu hastened her pace, feeling extremely fatigued but upon seeing her enthusiastic, endlessly energetic son, wondered if she was getting old, tiring so easily.

Dengdeng was incredibly excited throughout the journey, especially when his father caught a wild rabbit, despite its dusty appearance, he continued holding it close.

Bai Ruozhu felt it was nice for her son to have a little companion, but by nightfall, she was stunned.

Because Little Dengdeng and his father roasted his ”little companion”...

”Dad, you weren’t lying, it’s really fragrant.” Little Dengdeng’s face was oily, his excited, sparkling eyes holding a half-eaten rabbit leg.

”If you like it, Daddy will catch another one for you.” Jiang Yichun said proudly, enjoying the sight of his son’s worshipful gaze.

”No, I want to catch one myself!” Little Dengdeng patted his chest, saying boldly.

Bai Ruozhu’s lips twitched, her mind filled with images of her son lovingly stroking the rabbit’s fur and feeding it some grass, unaware that after a nap in the horse carriage, the rabbit became a meal.

What happened to love? What happened to the little companion?

Jiang Yichun grinned at her and said, ”Come, have some rabbit meat.”

Bai Ruozhu huffed but soon changed her expression, stepping forward to take big bites.

”Mmm, wild game is truly delicious. Xiaohei must’ve eaten plenty of delicacies, next time have him catch some.” Bai Ruozhu said, eating as she spoke, forgive her, she’s a genuine foodie, and wild rabbits are not meant to be pets.

”You didn’t let Xiaohei roam freely just to eat wild game, did you?” Jiang Yichun smirked, the firelight softened his facial lines.

”Of course not!” Bai Ruozhu cried out.

The family of three traveled comfortably, soon reaching the Pier where they busily loaded their belongings onto the ship.

Unexpectedly, half a day into the waterway, Bai Ruozhu got seasick!

Jiang Yichun was genuinely worried, how could his wife who never got seasick suddenly experience it, could something be wrong physically?

Before he could check her pulse, Bai Ruozhu collapsed unconscious.

Jiang Yichun dashed swiftly, cradling her in his arms, becoming aware she seemed thinner, feeling as if a gentle breeze could blow her away.

”Ruozhu, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?” he asked softly, but Bai Ruozhu was unconscious, offering no response. Beside him, Little Dengdeng was terrified, his eyes red as he grasped his mother’s hand, choking out, ”Mom, what’s wrong? Don’t die!”
