Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

If anything, Mr. Will’s well-being had become irrelevant to them, as everything that needed to be clear was already out in the open.

Insisting on speaking alone despite the danger, it seemed there were secrets more important than life itself.

Watching the two depart, Xia Jinyuan spoke in a detached tone, ”I just took out Cyril’s ’Think Tank’ directly. Next, Cyril’s men will definitely start searching for Mr. Will everywhere. Mr. Will may collaborate with Noah again, or he might choose to work with us again to oppose Noah and rescue Alice Cheng.”

”Mr. Will is not trustworthy,” Ye Jian analyzed calmly. ”He’s indecisive and has concealed many key points. He knows Cyril, yet has constantly conveyed to us that he does not. Perhaps even Noah has been deceived by him.”

”We need to doubt every word he says. I don’t believe he will choose to cooperate with us. You killed the bald man by Cyril’s side; Mr. Will might indeed cooperate with Noah and might even tell Cyril proactively that it was us who killed the bald man.”

Having said that, Xia Jinyuan lightly ruffled her hair. ”Don’t forget, we were the mercenaries Mr. Will brought in. Everything we do is linked to him. He won’t turn and pledge allegiance to Cyril; as for choosing to work with Noah again, that’s a possibility.”

But would Noah believe him? Unlikely, thought the savvy businessman Mr. Will. On the contrary, we are the ones he’d be more satisfied to trust.”

”Because, on the way here, Mr. Will told me that Noah has been continually threatening his family. He wants us to deal with Noah, so his family is no longer threatened by him.”

”As for Cyril, he expressed his willingness to cooperate, to make Cyril believe that the one who killed the bald man was Noah. On one hand there’s the man threatening his family’s safety, and on the other, are the mercenaries he hired for a hefty price, who are solely motivated by money. A wise man like Mr. Will would prefer to trust the mercenaries he hired himself.”

Mr. Will walked through the streets with Abei, seemingly worried that Xia Jinyuan and his team would follow. He glanced back cautiously, and upon seeing that the mercenaries he had hired were standing obediently, Mr. Will breathed a sigh of relief.

Ahead, only a child of about ten years old was seen with a sack on his back, crouching on the ground, drawing incomprehensible patterns with a stick. He was engrossed in his drawing, completely absorbed in his own world.

The moment the pair passed the child, the kid, who had previously been scribbling on the ground, stood up. Ye Jian’s pupils suddenly constricted, and then, she and her comrades charged forward almost simultaneously.

”Get down! Get down!” Xia Jinyuan shouted harshly!

The child pulled out a black object from his bag and aimed it at Abei, who had just walked past him. Mr. Will vaguely heard Xia Jinyuan’s voice, but the environment was too noisy, with heavy metal music playing, causing him to only slightly tilt his head before continuing the conversation with Abei.

”Bang...”

There was a sound from behind. Mr. Will then saw Abei, who had been talking while walking by his side, suddenly stop and grimace in pain.

Another low ”bang” sounded. Mr. Will realized something, instinctively reaching out to support Abei as he fell forward, ”Abei! Abei!”

He yelled!

Abei, shot twice in the back, collapsed, his blood soaked his clothes in an instant.
