Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

V8 was startled, and so was the driver; neither dared to delay. They immediately called the ambassador. Xia Jinyuan had not yet finished his conversation with V8. As soon as the driver’s mobile phone connected, he snatched it up and rattled off his speculations in rapid-fire succession.

The face of the ambassador who picked up the phone turned ashen, ”Alright, alright, I got it! Yes! Understood! Understood! Okay, I’m contacting our country now! You all must take care of yourselves! Make sure nothing goes wrong!”

Xia Jinyuan responded with a single ”okay” before hanging up the phone and returning it to the driver.

Under what circumstances would they no longer suspect their identities? It must be because they learned that the Chinese had already sent someone to rescue the scientist, hence, they believed that the Chinese would not send anyone else to rescue Alice Cheng.

Between a nuclear researcher and an ordinary housewife, which is more important?

Definitely the nuclear researcher!

Why would the host country release Alice Cheng to come to Melbourne? Because they needed to capture a Chinese person, and now that they have confirmed traces of the Chinese operatives within their own country, they can completely give up on Alice Cheng.

Alice Cheng was just bait, and now that they no longer need this bait, Noah and the others do not need to keep a strict watch on all their suspected targets anymore.

As for the scientist’s identity being suddenly exposed, it was likewise a maneuver by the host country. They have found the people sent by the Chinese for the rescue, and their goal has been achieved. To make matters more complicated for the Chinese, they’ve stirred up chaos.

After all, they still have the scientist in their hands. As long as they have the scientist, no matter how chaotic it gets outside, it does not relate to their country. Let the Chinese deal with it. Who asked the Chinese to send someone? Who asked the Chinese to hurry to save the scientist they hold?

Having listened to the entirety of V8’s report, Xia Jinyuan broke out in cold sweat, ”These damn bastards, such ruthlessness! No one could be more cunning than them in playing their cards so well!”

Xia Jinyuan, beyond the flash of fierceness when the key point came to mind, was now eerily calm, ”They, of course, need to scheme for their own country, just like we all plan for our own country.”

”It’s just a matter of seeing who will be the winner in this game.”

Xia Jinyuan felt there was nothing surprising about the actions of the host country. They naturally need to consider their own country’s interests, and therefore their intricate plots are to be expected.

Anger? Rage? There was no need.

What they were doing now was, aren’t they also one trap after another?

Perhaps the people from the host country are likewise cursing the Chinese for being sly.

”Now that the hotel area is not under strict surveillance, you can move around a bit, but don’t show your face and continue to keep a close watch on Noah. Have G3 and Z7 rush to the train station while you and K7 stay at the hotel,” Xia Jinyuan instructed V8 before ending the call.

What happened next was out of Xia Jinyuan’s control. The driver gripped the steering wheel with one hand and wiped the sudden sweat from his forehead with the other, ”They’re too cunning. With just a slight lapse on our part, we could be completely devoured by these bandits.”

Xia Jinyuan, whose face was dark as a storm cloud, did not respond to the driver. His fingers unconsciously tapped on the seat a few times before he said to the driver, ”Brother, drop me off up ahead; I’ll take another car to go there.”

”I can take you there,” the driver, probably sensing something serious, replied earnestly, ”We’re still some distance from the train station.”
