Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Xia Jinyuan had worked out some clues but hadn’t shared them with Ye Jian because he was still refining his thoughts. It wasn’t until he heard the cab driver talk about the chaos in Molaban, where criminal forces boldly opposed the government, that several previously disconnected leads in his mind clicked into place.

”Molaban is chaotic and anything is possible there, but it’s not as chaotic as a war-torn country. There is some order amid chaos. Plus, with Alice Cheng’s good friend Mr. Will in Molaban, sending her there turned out to be the best choice.”

”You must be wondering why Molaban is considered the best choice.”

His comrades nodded. T6’s eyes shone with a childlike eagerness to learn, while Ye Jian appeared pensive. Why, indeed?

The main reason was the ”chaos”.

”In a country overrun with firearms and rampant with evil forces, even if some external authorities intervene, they wouldn’t draw attention. For example, if Noah’s group enters Molaban and one day they suddenly pull out guns, it certainly wouldn’t make headlines there. For instance, the country that needs to rescue the scientist’s wife and son would surely intervene secretly, hoping to secure the scientist’s undivided loyalty by rescuing his family without much fanfare, possibly under disguise.”

Then, everyone understood!

Exactly!

Molaban was the perfect place for shooting and kidnapping!

”Now that Noah’s identity is essentially confirmed, it makes it easier to direct Cyril’s attention onto Noah, leading him to believe that Noah’s men are sabotaging his underground factory. And we appear as Noah’s people,” G3 said with a smile on his face, slowly explaining, ”So, how does Cyril come to think we are Noah’s men? That will require Mr. Will’s involvement.”

”Exactly.” Xia Jinyuan, with a faint cold smile, glanced towards a hidden probe in the room, his smile growing colder, ”Using Alice Cheng lured us into the trap, also indicating that the country detaining the scientist is unsure whether our country is aware of this situation.”

”Moreover, they are quite confident in their own strength, believing that if their people confront ours in Molaban, their country’s forces will undoubtedly triumph, and our country will face a massive defeat.”

”If our country loses badly, they can immediately inform the detained scientist that a country unable to rescue even his own wife and children isn’t worth serving. Internationally, they could then use this as leverage to restrain our country’s rise. Keep in mind, this country has always been wary of our country’s rise.”

With that, the entire strategy was clear!

Now fully enlightened, Ye Jian raised her hand and said, ”Excuse me, I’d like to add two points regarding Alice Cheng.”

Xia Jinyuan raised an eyebrow, indicating for her to continue.

There were indeed significant doubts about Alice Cheng’s situation, and his Little Fox had probably already guessed them.

”Regarding why Alice Cheng would comply with that country’s arrangement, I suspect two reasons,” Ye Jian spoke calmly, her thoughts clear, ”First, she might be cooperating because of her child, and second, she herself could be an undercover agent planted by that country beside the scientist. The scientist had not told anyone about his desire to return to his homeland, only mentioning to his wife about going on a vacation. Considering the scientist hadn’t taken his family on a vacation for six years and, suddenly after the success of his project, mentioned traveling, his wife became suspicious and reported it to her superiors, which led to the scientist being detained the night before their departure.”
