The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 550: Chapter 550: Kidnapping Her Husband to Offer to the Five Dragon Sect_1

Reid Family mansion.

The hall was filled with people, at the center were a group of Great Grandmasters from the Reid Family, and behind them, numerous Grandmasters. As the Family Head, Dexter Reid sat on the central sofa with a solemn expression.

”This is how the incident occurred. Now that both our revered ancestors have died, the Reid Family’s strength has plummeted. Today, I have gathered everyone to discuss what steps we should take next....”

After Dexter Reid finished speaking, his gaze swept over the crowd. As he had expected, he saw many dissatisfied and angry eyes looking back at him.

”For sake of a worthless son-in-law, you’ve caused the death of our two great ancestors of the Reid Family, the pillars of our clan, Dexter, you were indeed wrong in this matter.”

”Indeed; for your daughter, you welcomed Oscar Miller. Considering Carson Flores’ power at the time, your decision wasn’t wrong, after all, to us, a newly promoted Great Grandmaster was no threat. But after the Vasquez Family was destroyed, you should have paid more attention, especially since Carson Flores killed Isaias Vasquez with the help of four Innate Grandmasters!”

”Shirley Miller is Carson Flores’ wife. Even if you kill Shirley Miller, what then? Will you just wait for Carson Flores to come and annihilate the Reid Family with the four Innate Grandmasters?”

”It’s true that Carson Flores is on the Five Dragon Order’s wanted list, but being wanted doesn’t mean he’s dead. And because he’s being pursued, his actions might become even more extreme and crazy. Can the Reid Family really afford that?”

Dexter Reid had no words to retort, because what everyone said was correct.

Although he’d taken those actions not for the sake of Oscar Miller, but to maintain the Reid Family’s face and dignity, who would care about his intentions with such an outcome?

Both revered ancestors had agreed to take action to defend the Reid Family’s dignity, otherwise, how could they have arrived so quickly and made a move? Unfortunately, dead men tell no tales, and Dexter Reid alone had to bear the blame.

Dexter Reid said somberly, ”I will take responsibility for this incident, but the news of the deaths of our two ancestors can’t be kept secret for long. We must take all necessary precautions before this is exposed. Otherwise, the Reid Family might suffer even bigger losses....”

Everyone thought that was right. After all, without the Sea-Calming Divine Needle, even one Innate Great Grandmaster could destroy the entire Reid Family. Who in a cultivator family doesn’t have enemies? Once the news spread, wouldn’t others take the opportunity to kick us when we’re down?

Just as people were discussing hectically, the butler, his hands wrapped in white cloth, rushed in pale-faced, instantly drawing everyone’s attention with his footsteps.

Seeing the butler’s expression, Dexter Reid felt a sinking feeling in his heart: ”What’s the matter, why are you so flustered?”

The butler spoke with a panicked voice, ”Carson Flores is here.”

”Carson Flores!”

”What is he doing here?”

It was like pouring water into hot oil; the whole room erupted.

Dexter Reid’s face also drastically changed: ”Is Shirley Miller with him?”

The butler shook his head: ”Just him alone.”

The crowd was immediately filled with doubtful and bewildered expressions.

”This is Xijing. We’re only thirty miles from the Five Dragon Sect, at most a half-hour journey. He is wanted by the Five Dragon Order. How can he show up so boldly at our doorstep without fearing the Five Dragon Sect would take care of him?”

”Exactly, he has been missing for so long; how come he’s suddenly reappeared?

”Is he not afraid of the Five Dragon Sect?”

All of a sudden, Grandmaster Liu Ke Feng suggested, ”Weren’t we discussing our future path? Without any Innate Great Grandmasters, we’ll definitely be suppressed, and we must find a powerful backer. I find the Five Dragon Sect to be quite suitable; it has six Innate Great Grandmasters, its power is formidable, and Gunner Tate’s combat power is extremely strong—who would dare to provoke us?”

The others asked, ”Why would the Five Dragon Sect protect our Reid Family?”

”Carson Flores!”

Liu Ke Feng said without hesitation, ”Isn’t the Five Dragon Sect hunting Carson Flores? They’ve promised a grand reward to whoever captures him. If we present Carson Flores as a gift to the Five Dragon Sect, asking them to protect the Reid Family, even without our revered ancestors, who would dare to provoke the Reid Family, allowing us to be safe?”

”Moreover, Gunner Tate is not very interested in power; he wouldn’t exploit the Reid Family too much just because we seek his protection. Given time, if anyone in our Reid Family can breakthrough to Innate, we would then be able to catch our breath....”

Dexter Reid asked coldly, ”And what about Shirley Miller? If we capture her husband and hand him over to the Five Dragon Sect, do you think she won’t come back to kill our whole family?”

For a moment, everyone fell silent.

Liu Ke Feng thought for a while, ”Shirley Miller just came yesterday, and Oscar Miller is already dead, the grudge is settled. Why then has Carson Flores come today? I think there might be something amiss here. Why don’t we let him in and ask him before deciding what to do.”

Dexter Reid also thought that made sense; they needed to understand Carson Flores’ intentions.

”Let him in.”

Carson Flores quickly entered the hall under the guidance of the butler, and upon seeing a room full of people, he paused, ”Are you all having a meeting?”

Dexter Reid did not reply, but stared at Carson Flores and asked, ”What are you doing here?”

Carson Flores smiled, ”You are the Reid Family Head, right? Your son-in-law and I have some old grievances. I have no intention of making enemies with the Reid Family, so I wanted to come and talk. I hope the Reid Family won’t interfere with settling these old scores.”

Dexter Reid’s gaze shifted, becoming quite strange, ”Oscar Miller?”

Carson Flores nodded, ”Yes, I heard he married into your Reid Family. I assume, for a mere son-in-law, you wouldn’t care too much, right?”

The eyes of everyone in the room also changed.

It seemed that Carson Flores was unaware that Shirley Miller had come to the Reid Family yesterday to kill Oscar Miller, which meant that Carson Flores and Shirley Miller might not have been in contact?
