The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 514: Chapter 514: Everyone Gets What They Need and Is Happy_1

Carson Flores froze.

Shirley Miller went to The Unknown Land?

”Impossible, to enter The Unknown Land, don’t you need a guide? Shirley Miller shouldn’t have a guide, right?”

Leah Frost laughed, ”I’m just putting forward a hypothesis. Of course, it’s also possible that she’s just in a city, in some kind of environment that requires her not to contact the outside world. If it’s the former, that’s good for you too. Otherwise, once you become a cultivator and she remains a mortal, your fate with her would be filled with much more uncertainty.”

Carson Flores nodded silently, Leah Frost was stating the facts.

Mortals and immortals travel different paths.

One with a long life, the other with only twenty years of youth. When one becomes old and gray, the other remains youthful. Moreover, cultivators dwell in Blessed Lands of Cave Heavens while common folk live in the mundane world—the barriers are far too many.

”What’s the next step, where to?”

Carson Flores thought for a moment, ”I’ll take a turn around Mount Kahdas. Aunt Leah, you don’t need to accompany me. After all, Gunner Tate can’t possibly escape Xijing to come after me everywhere. Even if he wanted to, he wouldn’t be able to find my whereabouts alone.”

Leah Frost nodded, ”Okay, as long as you leave Xijing, there’s basically no danger. I won’t follow you. I’ll go back and see how Gunner Tate reacts.”

Carson Flores insisted, ”Even if Gunner Tate finds out that you and I met with Shane Fox and others, you must not admit any involvement. You can say that a masked Innate Grandmaster acted, killed Shane Fox and others, and keep yourself out of it.”

Leah Frost said with a grin, ”Of course I won’t admit it. Now that you’re leaving Xijing, I definitely won’t go looking for trouble. I’ll just sit back and watch the show. After you become an Innate Grandmaster, with the combined forces of you, me, and Rocky Stein, we might even be able to defeat Gunner Tate.”

Carson Flores smiled, ”No rush. After chatting with Sister Roth, I’ve become clear about many things. There’s no need to hurry in dealing with Gunner Tate.”

Leah Frost heaved a sigh of relief and smiled, ”Right, safety first.”

Leah Frost was just worried that Carson Flores was in a hurry to deal with Gunner Tate. Gunner Tate was powerful, and a moment’s carelessness on Carson’s part could lead to catastrophe. Now that Carson wasn’t in a rush to return to Xijing, Leah Frost also breathed a sigh of relief.

The two returned to a nearby town, had a meal together, and then parted ways. Leah Frost would take a plane back to Xijing.

Once again, Carson Flores was free of any attachment, no longer in a hurry to keep moving, and didn’t even have a clear goal, becoming a leisurely traveler not bound by time.

Carson Flores didn’t take a train but went straight to a car dealership and soon was driving off in a Hummer.

Heading west, whenever he was tired, he’d find a hotel to rest. Carson Flores had fully transformed into a tourist on a self-driving tour of western Kahdas.

The vehicles on the road gradually lessened, the altitude steadily increased, the sky became bluer, and the heights seemed to grow lower.

”Squeak!”

Carson Flores firmly pressed the brakes, stopping the car steadily as his gaze fell on the young woman on the road ahead.

This woman was dragging a suitcase and carrying a backpack, holding up a sign with three words on it.

”Requesting a ride.”

Carson Flores rolled down the window, and the young woman quickly ran over, looking at him with an enthusiastic smile. ”Handsome, can I get a lift?”

The young woman was about twenty-two or twenty-three years old, quite pretty, wearing sunglasses, with fair skin. She had unbuttoned three buttons at the front of her shirt, revealing a generous expanse of cleavage. She was tall and her figure was alluring.

Carson Flores unabashedly scanned the woman and chuckled, ”I’m going to Dingburg.”

The young woman’s eyes brightened. ”Can you give me a lift to Dingburg on your way?”

Carson Flores smiled, ”Hop in.”

”Thank you, handsome. You’re a good man!”

The young woman, with a smile on her face, got into the car and sweetly said, ”Handsome, can I see your driver’s license? I want to let my friends know I’m safe.”

Carson Flores casually replied, ”Don’t have one.”

The smile on the young woman’s face froze, ”I don’t mean anything by it, it’s just that...”

Carson Flores spoke leisurely, ”You can get out.”

The young woman was instantly annoyed, ”Why are you like this? It’s normal for a girl traveling alone to be cautious, isn’t it?”

Carson Flores took out a cigarette from the pack, lit it up, and with a relaxed tone said, ”You’re entitled to ask, but I’m entitled to refuse. With your gear—no blanket, no tent—trying to hitchhike on a ’poverty tour,’ heh...”

The young woman hesitated, ultimately not wanting to get out of the car, especially since it was a handsome guy driving a Hummer—it was clear he wasn’t short on cash!

”It’s also my first time without experience. Handsome, are you traveling alone? How about we keep each other company?”

Carson Flores chuckled, ”I pay, you keep company?”

The young woman cursed inwardly; this guy was handsome but too forward with his words, leaving no room to save face. It was irritating, but maybe that’s what rich people liked?

With a hint of shyness, the young woman said, ”You call the shots.”

Carson Flores chuckled, ”There we go, mutual benefit. We both get what we need and happy all around, right?”

The young woman replied with a touch of embarrassment, ”Handsome, you’re so direct with your words.”

Carson Flores answered with a grin, ”Rich people, we all value efficiency. Time is money, after all.”

Inside, the young woman was delighted—it seemed she had indeed found a rich and young easy mark!

She was going to make a good profit from this job today!
