The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 518: Chapter 518: Beg for mercy, only to throw oneself into the situation again_1

”I only target those with nice cars,” those people usually aren’t short on money. Even if I can’t extort money from them, there’s still a nice car to take as compensation...”

Carson Flores smiled and said, ”So I’m the fat sheep you’ve chosen?”

Lilly Compton lay obediently, not daring to resist Carson’s touch as she pleaded in a soft voice, ”If Baylor Combs comes again, he’ll surely bring experts from the Ironwood Sect, at least, Grandmasters. Carson, you were planning to go to Jade Pool, weren’t you? Let’s stay somewhere else, I’ll take you there tomorrow, just let me go, okay?”

Carson laughed, ”If he brings tough people, wouldn’t that be good for you? As long as they beat me, you could extort a lot of money from me, and you’d get a bigger share...”

Lilly Compton hung her head low, her cheeks red, her voice slightly shaking.

She was on the verge of breaking down.

”I can tell, Carson, you must be a scion of a powerful family with a big background, otherwise, you wouldn’t be so calm knowing they’re looking for revenge...”

Carson laughed heartily, ”You really got it wrong, I’m just like you, I only have one master, and my master isn’t particularly powerful... How long have you been in this line of work?”

Lilly Compton was slightly surprised, not a wealthy heir?

Then why isn’t he afraid at all?

Lilly Compton was curious, but she didn’t dare to ask.

”Half a year.”

Carson smiled, ”Then you must have made quite a bit of money, right?”

Lilly Compton pursed her lips, ”Indeed, I’ve earned quite a bit, but it’s not enough. On one hand, I need to cultivate, on the other, I need to treat the director’s illness and keep the orphanage running...”

Carson was taken aback, ”Orphanage?”

Lilly explained softly, ”The director used to make money as a Cultivator and could sustain the orphanage. But a few years ago, he was injured by someone. Medical treatment is expensive, and he can no longer earn money. Over the years, all our savings have been spent, life has been very hard.”

”I grew up in the orphanage, and the director taught me to cultivate, he’s like a father to me. Seeing him struggling, and now that I’ve grown up as well, I wanted to help. At first, I tried to work hard and earn money, but I’m not skilled enough to make much.”

”Later on, I took to ’fishing’ and cooperated with Baylor Combs and the others. Although they took the lion’s share, with the Ironwood Sect as a shield, I could earn my money relatively safely...”

Carson fell silent for two seconds, then withdrew his hand, ”Is the orphanage in Dingburg?”

”Yes.”

Carson instructed lightly, ”Go to sleep, and take me to the orphanage tomorrow.”

Lilly was both excited and worried; excited that Carson had withdrawn his hand, seemingly sparing her, worried that Carson might do something to the orphanage because of her.

Lilly replied apprehensively, ”What are you going to do at the orphanage?”

Carson said casually, ”Just to see.”

Lilly fell silent for a few seconds, then pursed her lips and reached out, taking Carson’s hand and placing it directly inside her bathrobe.

Carson was startled, ”What are you doing?”

Lilly said softly, ”Carson, I’ve offended you. If you’re upset, just take it out on me. The director and the kids at the orphanage don’t know what I’ve done; it has nothing to do with them...”

Carson chuckled and pulled his hand back, ”I’ll go to see if you’re lying. If you’ve lied, you’ll pay a price. If you’re telling the truth, I’ll forgive you. Besides, I happen to be a very skilled doctor, maybe I could even help treat your director’s illness.”

Upon hearing this, Lilly finally relaxed and quickly assured him, ”I told the truth!”

Carson hummed in response and pulled over the blanket, ”Go to sleep.”

Lilly laid down flat, still somewhat uneasy, ”Are you sure you don’t want to change where you’re staying?”

Carson smiled, ”The strongest Ironwood Sect has is a Peak Great Master?”

”Right.”

Carson continued, ”Are there any Innate Grandmasters in Dingburg?”

”No.”

Lilly answered, ”The Sect Master of the Ironwood Sect is already the most powerful there.”

Carson chuckled, ”Then it’s fine, go to sleep. If they dare come, I’ll beat them up!”

Lilly didn’t believe him, beat them up?

Beat up a Peak Great Master?

That must be a bluff!

How old are you even, how could you possibly?

Lilly saw Carson had already closed his eyes, she could only lie down, feeling uneasy.

She had thought that Baylor Combs would surely return with his people soon. However, after lying awake for a long time, no one came, and she eventually dozed off.

When Lilly awoke, daylight had already broken. She turned her head and her face flushed.

Her thigh was draped over Carson’s leg, her bathrobe had long been open, exposing her entire bare leg...

But that wasn’t the most embarrassing part. The most embarrassing was that Carson was awake too, staring at her with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile.

Lilly wished she could just disappear into a crack in the floor.

It was so awkward.

She had begged someone else to spare her, only to end up clinging to them...
