The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 546: Chapter 546: After All I’ve Done to You, You Don’t Hate Me?_1

Carson Flores sat atop Snow Peak, with Lilly Compton sitting beside him.

Lilly held a telescope in her hand, looking towards the distant snow valley, ”Carson, do you think Abel Compton will really make a move?”

Carson smiled, ”Let’s see, whether he does or doesn’t, it makes no difference to me. At worst, I’ll just waste some energy and have to kill once more.”

Lilly looked at Carson with admiration, ”Carson, you’re too fierce. An Innate Great Grandmaster was directly smashed by you, and you’ve only advanced for two months. Those are people who have stayed among Innate Great Grandmasters for decades...”

Carson turned his head to glance at Lilly, ”Has Dean Lee reminded you not to communicate with others or tell them your Cultivation Laws?”

Lilly nodded, her expression somewhat puzzled, ”Yes, why do you ask? Is there something wrong?”

Carson turned his head back towards the snow valley, smiling, ”Because what you are practicing is the true Cultivation Technique, not the Cultivation Laws of this world.”

Lilly’s eyes widened, ”What do you mean?”

Carson asked, ”You know about The Unknown Land, right?”

Lilly nodded, ”I’ve heard legends. Mount Kahdas is said to have The Unknown Land, but no one knows where it is. Everyone says that’s where the Immortals live.”

Carson explained, ”I’m not sure if they can be considered Immortals, but I am certain that they are called Cultivators, who practice the true Cultivation Technique, whereas the people of this world are called Cultivators, who have many Cultivation Techniques.”

”You can simply understand that the Cultivation Laws are a simplified version of the true Cultivation Technique, better suited to the sparse Spiritual Energy of this world. Yet, the peak that can be achieved through Cultivation is limited. The essence of the true Cultivation Technique is Spiritual Energy, so in a place like the Jade Pool with its dense Spiritual Energy, your practice will yield twice the result with half the effort. Outside of it, however, your progress would be particularly slow...”

Lilly had a sudden realization, ”So that’s how it is. Can I still practice at the Jade Pool later?”

Carson laughed, ”All the Spiritual Energy there has been absorbed by us; it’s recovering very slowly. To return to its previous state, I guess it would take many years at least. Besides, I always feel like the Spiritual Energy there might also have something to do with that fish. Anyway, you can forget about it for the next five years.”

Lilly immediately looked quite disappointed, then her eyes lit up excitedly, ”The world is so big, there must be other places with dense Spiritual Energy, right?”

Carson gave a wry smile. Initially, Isabella Roth had told him there were indeed places in the world rich in Spiritual Energy, but she only mentioned the Jade Pool, and at that time, he didn’t have a clear idea, so he didn’t ask about other places.

”I don’t know.”

Lilly’s hopeful gaze instantly turned to disappointment, ”If only I knew of several such places, I might become an Innate Great Grandmaster, or even surpass the Innate level and become a true Cultivator. How great that would be.”

Carson smiled, ”At your young age, you’re already a Great Grandmaster. There will be opportunities in the future. I feel that these places rich in Spiritual Energy must have some unusual wonders. If you search for them among the mountains and rivers, perhaps you will find something.”

Lilly’s eyes sparked to life again, ”Okay, then I won’t go be an advisor. My future goal is to travel through mountains and rivers, to search for places like the Jade Pool, and strive to break through the Innate level early!”

Carson nodded, ”That’s a good ambition. Dean Lee is limited by talent, but seeing how much you’ve improved in such a short time, your talent must be good. If you really can find several places like that, perhaps you have a chance of breaking through the Innate level. It’s said that after breaking through, you will step into a new realm, the door to the unknown lands of the whole world will appear before your eyes, and you will see a new world.”

Lilly’s lips trembled, her eyes full of anticipation, and her beautiful face was etched with determination.

”Carson, if I find it, I’ll definitely give you a call!”

Carson laughed, ”You don’t resent me, do you?”

Lilly looked at Carson, puzzled, ”I don’t have time to resent you, I’m grateful to you, why would I hate you?”

Carson chuckled, ”Because I, um... did that to you.”

Lilly’s face flushed red, ”Wasn’t that all my own doing? You were already very merciful to spare me. If it were someone else, knowing that I haven’t done ’that’ yet, they would probably be even more excited...”

Carson didn’t say much more and merely smiled slightly, ”As long as you don’t hate me, that’s good.”

Lilly pursed her lips and remained silent.

I don’t hate you.

I’m grateful to you.

I admire you.

And... I’ve even fallen for you.

But I dare not say it, nor do I have the right to say it, I know I’m not worthy of you!

Even though I don’t know what your wife is like, she definitely can’t be compared to an ugly duckling like me.

I will work hard in my Cultivation, strive to become a true Cultivator, strive to become stronger.

Maybe, in the future... I will become better, stronger, and I will have the courage to tell you this, even if just with a nonchalant reminiscing tone, that I liked you, and that would be enough!

Little did Carson know of the complex turmoil inside Lilly’s heart as he gazed at the distant canyon, suddenly speaking up, ”They’re here.”
