The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 522: Chapter 522: The Reward of Kindness_1

”Mount Kahdas?”

Bellamy Bernard’s voice carried a clear note of hesitation, ”You’re referring to The Unknown Land of Mount Kahdas?”

Carson Flores planted another needle and smiled, ”Yes, you took Lilly Compton to practice in the Jade Pool and to make her Breakthrough, it seems that the Cultivation Technique you and Lilly Compton practice is no simple matter. If I’m not mistaken, this technique should be related to The Unknown Land of Mount Kahdas, right?”

The Cultivation Laws of the mortal world are different from the Cultivation Technique of the Blessed Land of Cave Heavens. Mortal Cultivation Laws do not allow one to sense the existence of Spiritual Energy, yet Bellamy Bernard purposefully took Lilly Compton to the Jade Pool to Breakthrough and she successfully made that crucial step in just ten days, evidently related to the rich Spiritual Energy of the Jade Pool.

In other words, Lilly Compton might not be very clear about her Cultivation Laws, but Bellamy Bernard was, and besides, Carson Flores had practiced the Hao Ran Formula, feeling the most tangible difference between the two.

Bellamy Bernard turned around in surprise, his expression complicated as he looked at Carson Flores, with a hint more of wariness in his gaze.

Carson Flores firmly inserted another needle, ”Director Bernard doesn’t need to be so vigilant. I came to Mount Kahdas not only to find the location of the Jade Pool but also to inquire about The Unknown Land of Mount Kahdas, because my father is from The Unknown Land of Mount Kahdas.”

Bellamy Bernard’s eyes suddenly widened a fraction, ”You come from The Unknown Land?”

Carson Flores shook his head and briefly recounted his parents’ situation, and Bellamy Bernard immediately looked at him with a bit more sympathy.

He was the director of the orphanage, most often dealing with orphans. Carson Flores was already twenty-seven and had yet to meet his parents. Although his healthy growth into a capable individual was a stroke of luck amidst misfortune, it was ultimately a regret.

Bellamy Bernard lowered his guard, lay back down securely on the bed, and after a moment of thought said, ”The technique I practice might be from The Unknown Land...”

Carson Flores’s eyes lit up, ”Can you sense Spiritual Energy?”

Bellamy Bernard nodded, ”Yes, I can sense it, but it’s very sparse. I once mentioned this to others, but they all said they couldn’t feel it, so I kept it to myself. Eventually, I discovered the Cultivation Technique I practiced was entirely different from other Cultivators, and I’ve kept this secret deep in my heart ever since...”

The Cultivation Technique!

Carson Flores asked with curiosity, ”So you discovered the Jade Pool, a place abundant in Spiritual Energy?”

Bellamy Bernard replied, ”I found that different places have different concentrations of Spiritual Energy. I searched everywhere for lands rich in Spiritual Energy and found that as I went deeper up Mount Kahdas, the Spiritual Energy became richer. Eventually, I discovered the Jade Pool you mentioned. Practicing there, my strength improved rapidly, but the environment was too harsh for anyone to stay for long.”

”What’s most crucial in making a Breakthrough is talent, and talent restricts the heights I can reach. I went to the Jade Pool several times, hoping to Breakthrough, but each time I returned without success and finally resigned myself to fate.”

Carson Flores asked, ”Who taught you the Cultivation Technique?”

Bellamy Bernard recalled, ”I used to be just a poor boy without any background, helping clients who were visiting Mount Kahdas for sightseeing or adventure carry their stuff. Once, I encountered an old man in sheepskin who was alone in the snow and injured. I rescued him, and while he was healing, he orally transmitted the Cultivation Laws to me before disappearing without a word.”

”Upon reflection, that old man definitely wasn’t an ordinary person. The place where I found him was rarely visited, and he had lain there alone for who knows how long without freezing to death. Later on, his recovery was incredibly fast too. That made me think he might have been a great man from The Unknown Land of Mount Kahdas.”

Carson Flores said with a smile, ”That was the reward for your kindness.”

Bellamy Bernard sighed, ”Spiritual Energy is scarce in the world, making Cultivation too difficult. My own talent is limited, and I started practicing too late, missing the best time and struggling to advance further. My life will probably remain as it is. Lilly Compton understood things from a young age, charming and endearing to those around her. I had no other way to help her, so I passed on the technique to her, hoping she as a girl could have some power to protect herself in this world, without considering she might take the wrong path in her pursuit of money.”

”I need to make a trip to the Jade Pool and have Lilly Compton guide me.”

Carson Flores put away the needle and picked up a pen to write down a prescription.

”Take the medicine according to this prescription for three months, and you’ll make a full recovery.”

Bellamy Bernard felt an ease he hadn’t experienced in a long time and said in surprise and gratitude, ”Thank you so much, Mr. Flores.”

Carson Flores smiled, ”It’s a small effort, no need for thanks.”

Carson Flores stayed at the orphanage for lunch. When it was time to part, Lilly Compton was called aside by Bellamy Bernard for a talk, apparently scolded, as she came out with red eyes.

Carson Flores didn’t intervene, knowing that just because he could forgive Lilly Compton this time didn’t mean others would, and that if she continued down this path, trouble would inevitably arise.

After leaving the orphanage, Lilly Compton handed a small booklet to Carson Flores.

”This is from Master Bernard, to thank you for treating his illness and as an apology for what I did.”

Carson Flores flipped through it, his expression slightly surprised.

The Cultivation Technique Bellamy Bernard acquired from the man in the sheepskin coat?
