The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 538: Chapter 538 So, they ended up together, did they?_1

Shirley Miller did not refuse, and the two of them followed the residential area’s pathway toward the exit.

Leah Frost looked at Shirley Miller’s cold, calm face, feeling inexplicably uneasy inside, ”Mary, don’t you have anything you want to ask?”

Shirley Miller turned her head slightly, a faint smile on her lips, ”I’ve roughly guessed some of it. The person who is with Carson Flores is my cousin Samantha Tate, isn’t it?”

Leah Frost’s face colored with a bit of embarrassment, after all, Carson was her nephew.

You little rascal!

You’ve created this mess of affections, and now you make me, your aunt, face the music for you. If you’re not good to me in the future, even you won’t be able to justify it!

”That’s right.”

Leah Frost knew that there was no avoiding this matter, and so with a tense scalp, she answered, ”They have mentioned you to me before. I know you went to participate in some trial and have been out of contact for several months.”

Shirley Miller nodded, speaking in a low voice, ”So, they are together now, right?”

Leah Frost really wanted to deny it, but she couldn’t deceive her own conscience. Besides, she was well aware of the relationship between the three of them.

Objectively speaking, Shirley Miller was also partly responsible for the situation today.

If Shirley Miller does not care about Carson Flores now and is willing to divorce quickly, ending their contract marriage, then naturally there would be no problems – everyone would be happy. If Shirley Miller cares about Carson, then perhaps she has to bear the consequences brought about by her previous choices.

”Yes.”

Shirley Miller bit her lip lightly, a fleeting look of pain and loss flashing in her eyes before returning to calm.

Leah Frost stared into Shirley Miller’s eyes, ”But the situation might be somewhat different from what you think.”

Shirley Miller looked up, slightly surprised, confusion in her eyes, but she did not speak.

Leah Frost smiled, saying, ”Carson Flores has told me your story in detail, and Samantha Tate is not with Carson now...”

Shirley Miller furrowed her brows, ”Why not? Because of me?”

Leah Frost smiled, ”Yes, but also no... How about we find a place to have some tea and talk while sitting down?”

Shirley Miller nodded gently, ”Okay, I don’t want to trouble you.”

Leah Frost chuckled, ”I am Carson’s aunt, you don’t need to be so formal with me. After all, as you have seen, I’m only a few years older than Carson, and we get along quite well.”

The two left the residential area and found a corner spot in a tea house within the community, brewing a pot of tea.

Leah Frost opened the conversation, ”I’ll repeat what I know first. If there’s anything incorrect, you can correct me. Besides, emotions are your business. I won’t interfere with your choices.”

Shirley Miller replied softly, ”Okay!”

Leah Frost picked up the tea, took a sip, ”Then let’s start from the first day Carson Flores came to the Frost Family...”

This conversation took quite some time.

Shirley Miller listened attentively, very quiet and focused.

When hearing about Carson Flores bringing Samantha Tate home and introducing her as his girlfriend, Shirley Miller’s long lashes drooped, her gaze somber.

She didn’t hate Samantha Tate.

Really, not at all.

She and Carson Flores had a contract marriage to begin with, her own proposal, and she herself said she would not interfere with Carson’s private life. Carson could do anything he wanted to, including dating. If Carson found someone he loved, she would make way for him.

Carson had already hinted before that he had someone he liked on the outside; it was just that she did not expect it to be her cousin Samantha Tate. That was the only surprise among her many guesses upon her return.

When she heard about Samantha Tate being taken away, Shirley Miller suddenly looked up, asking anxiously, ”Is Samantha okay in the end?”

She knew Carson had gone to Mount Kahdas for cultivation and was safe, but hearing from Leah that they were not together now made her instinctively worry.

Did something happen to Samantha Tate? Had Carson entered Mount Kahdas for cultivation for the sake of revenge?

Leah Frost, seeing her anxious and worried eyes, felt a sudden relief in her heart.

Shirley Miller and Samantha Tate had true sisterly affection!

Hearing that Samantha Tate and her own husband were secretly together, Shirley Miller, though somber, was not angry or outraged. Instead, on hearing of Samantha’s injury, her concern was plain to see.

Leah Frost shook her head, ”She’s fine... Just listen as I explain slowly.”

Shirley Miller breathed a sigh of relief and settled down.

It was good as long as the person was fine.

Leah Frost continued, and when she told of how Samantha Tate was hit by a palm strike, critically injured, concern once again appeared on Shirley Miller’s face, though this time, she did not ask further.

When she learned that Carson Flores took Samantha Tate to Heavenly Mountain Cave by calling in a significant favor and using an entrance charm to have Samantha admitted, Shirley Miller’s face showed a complicated expression.

Surprise, emotion, concern...

When she heard Samantha Tate tell Carson to live well with her and not to divorce, apologizing to her and asking for her forgiveness, Shirley Miller’s eyes unexpectedly teared up.

”And then, Carson Flores went to Mount Kahdas alone. In Dingburg, at the foot of Mount Kahdas, he received concrete news that his parents had indeed been taken to The Unknown Land of Mount Kahdas by a Miss Tang, which is where his father Westin Flores was originally from.”

Leah Frost paused, ”The above are all things I’ve witnessed. Next, I will tell you what Carson told me, the story from his perspective about the three of you...”
