The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 537: Chapter 537 Ah, I’m getting old, always mistaking people_1

Shirley Miller!

Leah Frost’s eyes went wide and she stayed frozen for a full three seconds before coming to her senses. She hurried to the door and opened it, a warm smile spreading across her face.

”It’s Mary, right? Come in, please. I’m Carson’s aunt, Leah Frost...”

Shirley Miller returned the smile, ”Auntie, hello.”

Leah Frost looked at Shirley Miller, whose aura was cool and ethereal, like a celestial being, and marveled inwardly.

She looks so much like her!

The resemblance in the face was at least 80 to 90 percent similar, and the height and physique were almost identical. If not for their completely different auras, and if Leah Frost had not been aware of Shirley Miller’s existence, she would have been certain to mistake her identity.

That boy Carson, really, having such stunning sisters, both tied to him with complex emotions.

Leah wasn’t sure if she should compliment him or smack him.

”I’ve heard about you from Carson before; it’s really nice to finally meet you in person. You truly are beautiful...”

Shirley Miller looked slightly surprised, ”He mentioned me?”

Leah Frost enthusiastically ushered Shirley Miller inside, laughing, ”Of course! We’re family, surely we would mention you. Please, come in and take a seat.”

As Leah Frost led Shirley Miller into the living room and was about to invite her to sit down, Dawson Frost came in from the back garden. Upon seeing Shirley Miller, he paused, his expression one of surprise: ”Samantha, you’re back? Where’s Carson? Is he with you?”

Samantha?

Shirley Miller blinked in astonishment, confusion gleaming in her beautiful eyes.

Shouldn’t this elder gentleman be Carson’s grandfather?

Was this not their first meeting? Yet he called her Samantha, with such a familiar tone?

With Carson?

Samantha?

Samantha Tate?

Shirley Miller, with her sharp wit, quickly thought of the reason, but new doubts began to surface.

Carson and his cousin were together and have met the Frost Family members?

Leah Frost struggled to maintain her smile.

She quickly got up, cutting off the conversation to introduce, ”Dad, you’ve got the wrong person. This is Shirley Miller, Carson’s wife, your granddaughter-in-law...”

As Leah Frost made the introduction, she desperately blinked at Dawson Frost.

Dawson Frost was no ordinary person. He mistook Shirley Miller for Samantha Tate at first glance because Shirley Miller and Samantha Tate looked almost exactly the same.

The Five Dragon Sect was currently in pursuit of Carson. If Samantha had returned, wouldn’t that mean Carson had as well?

Wouldn’t that be incredibly dangerous?

As soon as Leah Frost introduced her and blinked, Dawson Frost instantly snapped back to reality. Although still confused, he quickly found an excuse to cover up.

”Ah, I am truly sorry, age has taken its toll, my eyes aren’t what they used to be. I’m always mistaking people.”

Shirley Miller stood up and politely greeted Dawson Frost, ”Grandfather, hello.”

”Good, good, hello!”

Dawson Frost answered twice but was at a loss for how to continue the conversation.

Wasn’t Samantha supposed to be Carson’s girlfriend?

How come suddenly a wife appeared, looking exactly like Samantha?

Could it be that Samantha had split personality disorder, at one moment feeling she’s Samantha, and the next believing she’s Shirley Miller?

Dawson Frost’s imagination spiraled, full of speculation.

The atmosphere turned awkward in an instant.

Yet Shirley Miller remained composed, smiling lightly, ”I hope you don’t mind the intrusion, but I couldn’t get in touch with Carson and I heard that he had been to the Frost Family recently, so I thought I’d come by to ask if you might know of his whereabouts?”

Leah Frost breathed a sigh of relief and quickly took over the conversation: ”He called me two months ago, saying that he went to cultivate in Mount Kahdas. Since then, his phone has been off. I even called him just before, and it’s still off, which makes me think he’s probably still cultivating and hasn’t returned...”

Seemingly worried that Shirley Miller might not understand, Leah Frost took the time to explain, ”He’s very strong now and facing a bottleneck, wanting to have a Breakthrough. It’s normal for such cultivation retreats to be lengthy, with some lasting several months.”

Shirley Miller asked, ”What level is he at now?”

Leah Frost didn’t see the need to hide anything from Shirley Miller and openly shared, ”He’s a Peak Great Master, and he told me he has already touched upon the threshold of becoming an Innate Grandmaster. He’s just one opportunity away from a Breakthrough.”

Surprise flickered in Shirley Miller’s eyes, ”When I left, he had just reached the level of Great Grandmaster. His progression has indeed been rapid.”

Leah Frost praised earnestly, ”Yes, I’ve never seen such a talented Cultivator.”

Shirley Miller’s gaze fell on Leah Frost, and she smiled subtly, ”Auntie, you’re not too shabby yourself.”

Leah Frost felt a jolt of shock. In that instant, she had the unsettling sensation of being scanned by an X-ray, her secrets laid bare.

Shirley Miller stood up, smilingly saying, ”Since he’s cultivating and has not met with any trouble, I’m relieved. Thank you, Auntie, and thank you, Grandfather. I’ll take my leave now.”

Dawson Frost was at a loss for how to respond, so he simply mumbled a few polite phrases and shifted his gaze to Leah Frost.

Seeing that Shirley Miller was determined to leave and unable to persuade her to stay—and staying longer would be even more awkward—Leah Frost said, ”Then I’ll see you out of the complex—it’s on my way... we can chat.”
