Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 350: Chapter 348: Players Rushing to Support

In a certain location within the city, a large undead corps was battling a contingent of demon corps.

Among the undead corps, Zuo Ya was perusing a letter that had just been delivered to him.

At first, Zuo Ya didn’t think much of this letter.

Today was quite significant for them, as they needed to eliminate as many players still on the leaderboard as possible before nightfall.

Most players in Bailian City were under Zuo Ya’s direction to ensure no enemies could escape.

The arrival of this letter made Zuo Ya’s eyes widen, and he quickly asked, ”How much longer will this fight last?”

The Undead Mage commanding at the front didn’t even turn his head, ”At least another half-hour. Why, is there a new development?”

”That Breath of the Dead just sent word saying there’s a thing over there that every alive Demon Sorcerer wants. It seems all of them are now heading that way,”

Zuo Ya said with a smile, waving the letter in his hand.

It was clear from his words that he didn’t fully trust the meaning of Gu Xi’s message.

”Didn’t he say he was unavailable for the next couple of days? How come he’s showing up with such a big deal now?”

The Undead Mage was also surprised, glancing back at Zuo Ya and stopping to command his forces to continue the conversation.

”I have no idea, but I’ve never been able to figure this Gu Xi out. In school, he seemed like that invisible-type who suddenly clinched the top spot, not making much fuss, and just kept his power hidden.

If it weren’t for the White Training Grand Ceremony, we’d never know he had already mastered two of the Three Divine Skills.

This time, since he’s calling us over, there might really be something.

I’m just curious, considering his current strength, wouldn’t he just devour all the enemies himself?

Why does he need to bring us along?”

Listening to Zuo Ya’s questions, the Undead Mage laughed heartily.

”You’ve been at the top for too long, never considering things from the perspective of grassroots players.

Our Breath of the Dead, what did he have before? Nothing.

He got a title, secured the top position, relying on the Three Divine Skills.

He wants to advance further; he needs connections. What could be a stronger network than those you make on a battlefield like the White Training Grand Ceremony?”

Zuo Ya nodded, ”I understand what you’re saying, but he is our top student of this year, and we should show some respect. I’ll ask who’s near him and have them go check it out.”

Zuo Ya spoke while writing letters to relay orders.

As for himself, Zuo Ya wasn’t about to give up the players from Cold Leaf City he’d just surrounded. Everything could wait until after they were eliminated.

Meanwhile, near the Tenshou Pavilion of the Wudou Family, Gu Xi had already entered combat mode.

The Death Incarnation was sprawling on top of the Tenshou Pavilion, its ceiling blasted open, focusing on a human-sized red crystal below. Anyone trying to approach would face a full assault from the Death Incarnation.

And beside Gu Xi, more troops emerged.

These were troops he had temporarily raised using his Soul Summoning Skill.

In this kind of battlefield, don’t be fooled by Gu Xi arriving alone; with a single Death Ripple and another round of Soul Summoning, he had over two hundred undead troops at his side.

Since he needed to defend this area, Gu Xi specifically fine-tuned his Soul Summoning Skill to summon a batch of Level 4 Zombies.

Having done all this, all Gu Xi had to do was wait.

He believed everyone saw the red light just now; the Demon Sorcerers in Cold Leaf City should know the function of that red crystal better than he did. Unless they were already surrounded, they would be heading this way.

As for Zuo Ya, Gu Xi was uncertain whether he would believe him.

If no Undead Mage came to help, Gu Xi would have to take this red crystal to Yalidov City, securing it first.

Fortunately, Gu Xi didn’t have to wait long before he heard the sound of hoofbeats in the distance.

Looking in the direction of the sound, Gu Xi saw an Undead Mage riding a White Bone Warhorse rushing toward him.

Following this Undead Mage were numerous Skeleton Soldiers.

From afar, the Undead Mage immediately hoisted his banner upon seeing Gu Xi.

It was a blue battle banner depicting a Skeleton hand emerging from the underground, holding a black crystal ball.

”The Overlooking Dark Guild?”

Gu Xi recognized the Overlooking Dark Guild.

This guild was unlike other undead guilds; apart from Undead Knowledge, it prioritized learning Dark Knowledge first, ultimately mastering something called Dark Regeneration through Soul Link and Curse Mastery.

With this ability, as long as one used Dark Magic, they could recover about thirty percent of their mana if the spell succeeded. If the spell failed or was resisted, they could recover all their mana.

Critically, at a high Skill Level in Dark Regeneration, you could set a locked spell.

When recovering all mana, the locked spell would automatically activate.

It could bypass enemy Magic Resistance and directly affect them.

This was considered a rather underhanded tactic.

It’s said the guild master of the Overlooking Dark Guild used this trick against Black Dragons before.

Additionally, it was rumored that Overlooking Darkness didn’t mean overlooking dark magic or the skill Dark Regeneration, but overlooking the darkness of the Black Dragon.

Due to frequent dragon slaying, players from the Overlooking Dark Guild had a high success rate in progressing from Level 5 to Level 10. Moreover, the gains from attacking Dragon’s Nest were significant, making them quite wealthy.

In school, when most students discussed future directions, they’d always put the Overlooking Dark Guild higher on their list.

Seeing this player now, Gu Xi couldn’t help but sigh at the wealth of the Overlooking Guild players.

To travel quickly, they directly used a Rapid March magic scroll; it was quite impressive.

Upon reaching Gu Xi, the approaching player loudly exclaimed, ”Hello, are you Ghost Breath Gu Xi? I’m Xia Yi from the Overlooking Dark Guild. I’ve come to battle the Demon Sorcerers.”

”You’re just in time; the enemy is almost here. Come this way,”

Gu Xi gestured for Xia Yi to join him.

Xia Yi quickly rode up to Gu Xi, and after dismounting, his subordinates quickly stood in formation behind him.

Gu Xi noticed that although Xia Yi’s subordinates were mostly Skeleton Soldiers, their armor and weapons were not the typical rusty equipment; instead, they were finely crafted from refined iron, visibly of white-level quality.

They were just shy of having enchantments applied to them.

If Skeleton Soldiers weren’t considered cannon fodder, Gu Xi would think they equipped them with green-quality weapons.

At this moment, Xia Yi also noticed the towering red crystal guarded by the Death Incarnation.

With wide eyes and disbelief, he exclaimed, ”Isn’t that the thing!”
