Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 304: Chapter 302: Soul Summoning Skill Upgrade and New Undead

”That seems to be the symbol of the Nether Bone Wind’s leader, it looks like the guy called Breath of the Dead is here, Liu’Er, I’ve heard he controls Death City, how many troops do you think he could muster in this time?”

With Gu Xi’s arrival, the pressure on the Undead Mages trapped in the middle greatly reduced, and the one leading them even started to joke.

”How much could he have? He joined the Chaoyang Radiance Guild, that guild’s benefits are decent, and with Death City in his hands, he probably has around two to three thousand troops by now.

Having a Divine Skill is different, just a casual stroke and he’s got more troops than a few of us combined.

Oh crap, what is that!

Am I seeing things? Red dragons, where did he get so many red dragons?”

As they spoke, thirty red dragons pushed forward, burning the flames all the way to the middle of the battlefield.

At this moment, Gu Xi pointed his hand at where the red dragons burned, and the Steel City Gate was released on the spot, placed at the end of the flames, and Amirka led his troops through the Steel City Gate.

Looking at the situation before him, a slight smile appeared on Amirka’s face.

A grand battlefield, he loves it!

”Form up!”

Under Amirka’s command, all his Undead stood in position again.

And at this time, the players of Corpse Bone Fish Dragon seemed to understand Gu Xi’s intention.

”Boss, it looks like he’s asking us to get closer to his gate and fight a defensive battle, huh?”

”Seems like it, let’s get ready, wait a minute, where are their red dragons going?”

As these Undead Mages intended to move towards Gu Xi, the red dragons flew off in another direction.

Just like before, the red dragons blazed a path with flames.

Under the red dragons’ flames, a barren land was burned open.

Then a third city gate appeared on the battlefield.

The three gates directly formed an equilateral triangle, carving a huge chunk out of the enemy’s battle array.

Appearing at the location of the third city gate was Robbie, who led the Bone-Slaying Camp onto the battlefield and immediately charged into the nearby demons.

After setting down the three gates, Gu Xi finally breathed a sigh of relief.

The enemies before him amounted to nearly eight to ten thousand, and the force in Gu Xi’s hands couldn’t possibly go head-to-head with them.

So Gu Xi used this triangular formation to divide the enemy’s troops.

Within this triangular formation were over a thousand demons and Demon Corps.

Gu Xi intended to eliminate these enemies first, killing them off batch by batch.

Taking down over a thousand enemies each time, the foes before him would at most allow him to get eight rounds of kills.

Now that the battle formations were set, and with the three heroes blocking the other enemies from entering the formation, the rest of the battle was naturally up to Gu Xi.

At this moment, Gu Xi turned his gaze to the cannon fodder Undead who had just charged out, they had already taken down dozens of Human Centipedes.

Of course, nearly a hundred of them also perished in battle.

But what Gu Xi cared about wasn’t this. With a glance at his remaining mana, he raised the Cold Wind Staff and gave a wave in the battlefield’s direction.

”Soul Summoning Skill!”

As the Soul Summoning Skill descended, a Human Centipede suddenly shattered, and their bodies spontaneously turned into ten or so zombies.

This situation momentarily left Gu Xi speechless.

What kind of situation is this? Even if a Human Centipede turns into several zombies, it’s still reasonable, as one complete body summoning one Undead is very logical. A Human Centipede is originally pieced together, so splitting it back up naturally makes sense too.

But giving only 1 point of experience, that’s a bit unreasonable.

Shouldn’t you give experience according to the number of Undead summoned?

Luckily, though the experience was little, once the Soul Summoning of a Human Centipede succeeded, it was a batch success.

This rapidly replenished Gu Xi’s lost cannon fodder troops, and after several more uses, the number of cannon fodder Undead who had fallen was replenished by more than half, greatly boosting Gu Xi’s confidence.

The frequency of using the Soul Summoning Skill also increased a bit.

Until another Human Centipede’s body exploded and ten or so translucent ghosts strung together appeared, Gu Xi noticeably froze for a moment.

[Your Soul Summoning Skill level has increased, now the Soul Summoning Skill is at level 8.]

[Soul Summoning Skill 6+2 levels (0/5000): Consumes 1 mana point, 1 soul unit, and 1 corpse, has a 60% chance to summon an Undead to fight for you (level 2, types include Skeleton, Zombie, Ghost, can grow, unlimited numbers)]

[You successfully used the Soul Summoning Skill, obtaining a Ghost Squad (level 2, Special Summoning), Soul Summoning Skill experience 1 point.]

[Ghost Squad (level 2, Special Summoning): Experience (0/250) Attack 4, Defense 4, Life 16, Skills: Undead Creatures, Flying Creatures, No Physical Body, Combat Squad (for each enemy killed, can add 1 ghost to the Ghost Squad)]

[Note 1: The number of ghosts in the Ghost Squad does not affect its own attack power.]

[Note 2: The skills of the Ghost Squad do not affect the Soul Summoning or other effects on enemies they kill.]

The appearance of the Ghost Squad left Gu Xi taken aback for a moment before he understood what was happening.

By now, Gu Xi had understood the situation.

A Human Centipede counts as one body, so one Soul Summoning only gives 1 experience point.

But a Human Centipede obviously uses several bodies, so it’s quite reasonable that summoning succeeds with multiple Undead.

The key now was that Gu Xi’s Soul Summoning Skill suddenly reached level 8, no matter whether it was promoted by items or not, he could now realistically summon ghosts.

Thus these ghosts became the relatively special Ghost Squad.

This Ghost Squad just seems like a lot of people, but actually, so many ghosts count as one.

They attack enemies simultaneously, if one is injured, the other ghosts are injured too.

But if you think they’re just for show, you’d be wrong.

As a Special Summoning of Undead, the Ghost Squad actually has other roles.

Now with just ten or so ghosts gathered together, they could occupy a large area. What if their number increased?

If the number even reaches hundreds or thousands.

Then couldn’t these ghosts strike every enemy on the entire battlefield in one blow?

If that’s truly the case, these ghosts could surely control the field, drawing all the enemy fire.

Of course, the current Ghost Squad hasn’t reached that level yet. After being summoned, without Gu Xi’s orders, they were floating in the air, shackles in their hands, strung together, looking around.

By their expression, they seemed to be searching for an opportunity to attack.

”Ghost Squad, engage, target the enemy Human Centipede, Soul Summoning, Soul Summoning, Sum... Death Incarnation!”
