Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 344: Chapter 342: Gu Xi’s Frenzied Growth

”What a pity!”

Listening to the Empress’s words, Gu Xi couldn’t help but sigh.

The situation of Eldest Princess Anna made Gu Xi feel a bit emotional.

Clearly, she was the legitimate British Princess, clearly she had risked her life for Britain three times.

In the end, because of Britain’s reputation, she was replaced by a fake brought out by Gu Xi from a dungeon.

Gu Xi thought if he could help somehow, he would, to avoid feeling guilty forever.

Only to receive such news from the Empress.

All of a sudden, Gu Xi felt like a part of his heart had collapsed, unsettling him.

However, at that moment, the Empress said something else.

”Actually, if you want to save her, you might think of a different approach.”

Gu Xi looked at the Empress with confusion.

At this point, the Empress smiled and said, ”It’s still a ritual, only this time it’s a replacement ceremony. Before the ritual begins, you need to find a princess.”

Speaking of which, the Empress looked at Gu Xi, recalled Gu Xi’s identity, and added.

”A living one, before the ritual begins, preferably alive.”

Gu Xi thought for a moment and decisively replied, ”I have one!”

The Empress was surprised at this.

Though in a fairy tale world, any family might produce an Empress or Princess.

But a princess wouldn’t be someone Gu Xi could just drag out as a sacrifice.

”You better think carefully before answering, I did say, once some rituals begin, they cannot be stopped.”

”I really do have one.”

Gu Xi affirmed confidently.

Hearing Gu Xi’s assurance, the Empress then said to Gu Xi, ”Alright, I’ll trust you this time. We are going to conduct the replacement ceremony, using this princess to replace the last resurrection of that Eldest Princess you mentioned.

Make that Eldest Princess become a corpse with one more resurrection chance.

Whether you can revive this Eldest Princess Anna next depends on your own skills.

Now I’ll explain the ritual process, this replacement ritual I learned from a Sea Race witch.

She used it for their family’s Black Catfish Spirit, wanting it to turn into a princess and fall in love with a prince.

But something went wrong with the ritual process, the Black Catfish Spirit failed, eventually turning into bubbles and vanishing on the sea surface.

For the Eldest Princess Anna you mentioned, replacing the princess you mentioned should go smoothly, because during the ritual, speaking is forbidden, and issues like standing on a blade’s edge mean nothing to the dead.”

The Empress began to explain the ritual details to Gu Xi.

Gu Xi listened intently and quickly took out a record paper to jot down each step of the ritual.

As the Empress explained, she would glance back at Gu Xi’s notes on the ritual steps, pointing out any errors immediately.

After noting everything down, the Empress again spoke to Gu Xi, ”Remember, once the ritual begins, it cannot be stopped, and there’s only one chance for Eldest Princess Anna’s replacement ceremony. If the ritual fails, she will turn into bubbles and disappear.

So, do not make any mistakes.”

Gu Xi nodded seriously, storing the record paper away.

The Empress glanced at Gu Xi, ”Why don’t you handle it now? I can only stay a day, if there’s an issue when you rush there...”

”If there’s an issue, you can’t save it, can you? So, I might as well take this opportunity to ask you more questions, by the way, you’re a Master of Magic Potions, could you see how to concoct this liquid?”

Gu Xi placed the [Water of Order] in front of the Empress.

The Empress opened the bottle and was taken aback by the Aura of Death within.

But she immediately noticed the substance behind the Aura of Death.

”This is a liquid condensed from the Power of Order, not a type of Magic Potion, it’s a part of Mana accumulation, I can’t help you with this.”

However, the Empress had already helped Gu Xi.

She pointed out the state of the [Water of Order], which was a major aid to Gu Xi.

Knowing what it was, Gu Xi could think of a corresponding substitute.

Afterwards, Gu Xi presented some magic problems he didn’t quite understand, consulting the Empress.

As Gu Xi had said, there’s only one chance for the ritual, starting whenever, if it succeeds, it succeeds, and if it fails, not even the Empress can do anything.

Might as well take out things he doesn’t understand now and ask.

It’s rare to have a fairy tale character with Advanced Magic Ability appear, if he doesn’t take advantage of this opportunity to learn things he doesn’t know, when else can he?

Subsequently, Gu Xi spent his time learning in the library.

He didn’t check up on Luna’s battle, nor returned to the Wudou Family.

He spent the whole day in the Library, even having food brought from the Tavern.

The only thing reminding Gu Xi that he’s still in the world of the White Training Grand Ceremony was the prompt that popped up on the third morning.

It was this prompt that pulled Gu Xi out of his fervent studies.

[A new day starts, settling yesterday’s information now:

Bailian City: 319 players, 109 died or exited, 1 on the leaderboard.

Cold Leaf City: 320 players, 235 died or exited, 85 on the leaderboard.

Qiufeng City: 320 players, 244 died or exited, 76 on the leaderboard.]

It was this prompt that informed Gu Xi that the second night had passed, and now it’s the third day since their entry into the White Training Grand Ceremony.

”Judging by these numbers, they fought fiercely last night.”

Rubbing his temples, Gu Xi couldn’t help but comment.

”What do you mean by fighting fiercely?”

The Empress, who was explaining the situation to Gu Xi, looked up at him.

She hadn’t expected Gu Xi to study so intensely.

”Nothing much, this isn’t the time to discuss it, I still have some energy, perfect for studying.”

Gu Xi did not explain what he knew to the Empress, instead swiftly shifting the topic back to the knowledge he needed to study.

And so, time ticked away moment by moment.

When the Empress’s time ran out, Gu Xi finally set down the book in his hand, stood up, and said to the Empress.

”Thank you, Empress!”

”No need to thank me, it’s your own efforts. I hope to see you again, by the way, I think this might be useful to you, it’s a gift.”

As the Empress spoke, she placed a small bottle with a drop of blood on the table.

”How did you know...”

”Do not underestimate the abilities of a witch proficient in divination, I foresee needing your help in the future, and I hope you won’t hesitate to aid me.”

”I will!”

Gu Xi stood upright, watching the Empress leave.

Not until the Empress completely disappeared did he sit down at the library table, reviewing the fruits of his day and night of study.

Besides advancing his Magic Knowledge to level 7, he also learned three unrelated pieces of knowledge about the Undead.

[Ritual Magic Level 3: Passive Skill, various magics performed through rituals, as long as the ritual is logical and runs according to ritual paths, it can use High-tier Magic three levels higher.]

[Magic Potion Making Level 1: Passive Skill, able to make Magic Potions and learn all Magic Potion and Alchemy Potion Formulas below level 1.]

[Divination Knowledge Level 1: Passive Skill, able to perform divinations on certain matters and learn Divination Magic below level 1.]
