Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

She had just called the bodyguard who was following him. Joshua Hughes had told her that if anything ever happened and she couldn’t find him, she could contact his personal bodyguard. He said he’d already explained it to the bodyguard and that she could reach him anytime. So the bodyguard had just told her about this place, and she had the bodyguard who stayed at home bring her over. She hadn’t expected this bastard to actually dare do something like this.

The girl, sensitive as she was, felt the murderous aura from behind. She turned around and saw a woman standing less than two meters behind her.

What was with tonight? The most handsome man and the most beautiful woman in the world both appeared in front of her on the same day, the same night. Every woman who could work here was beautiful, and she counted as one of the standouts. But compared with this woman, her beauty still fell far short.

”Move.” Avery Jane said coldly.

What was with this woman, wasn’t she afraid of the cold? Why wasn’t she wearing any clothes at all? Avery secretly compared herself in her heart: her chest didn’t seem as big as hers, her waist wasn’t as slender as hers, her skin was very good, but Avery’s should be even better.

After taking all that in, she suddenly felt even more confident. She wasn’t some yellow-faced shrew who would be completely crushed the moment a homewrecker stood next to her. She was the office belle universally acknowledged as the most beautiful in the Hughes Clan. Thinking of that, she straightened her chest a little more.

”Who are you?” The girl’s voice carried a tremor. Men didn’t like fierce women, she had to act softer, and softer still, to draw out a man’s pity......

Fine, she admitted that Joshua Hughes really was the kind of man who made women want to push him down. Her being worried and jealous was normal. It was just that this girl, who looked shy and wronged, was making her furious.

Was she really that shy? Was she really that wronged? If she were truly shy, how could she sit on a man’s lap without a single piece of clothing on? Avery herself hadn’t cried yet, but look at this one—her tears were already swirling in her eyes, as if they were about to fall but just wouldn’t.

He’d said he only liked her, that there wouldn’t be anyone else. Was she supposed to believe him? But right now this woman was sitting on his lap. Was someone holding a knife to his neck forcing him to find another woman?

The bottles on the table proved he’d already had quite a lot to drink. A drunk man was even more irresistibly attractive. The way that little girl sat gently on his lap made Avery’s heart ache as if it were being torn apart.

A man like this—if she didn’t give herself to him or satisfy him, of course there would be tons of women lining up, tripping over each other just for a chance to offer themselves, even willing to pull out all sorts of tricks.

Avery took two steps forward. The girl might have looked scared and委屈, but she showed not the slightest intention of getting off his lap. That damn man’s eyes were closed shut. His suit jacket was tossed on the sofa beside him, the top two buttons of his shirt undone, revealing a small patch of sexy, firm chest.

She was about to go crazy. Should she go over there and give Joshua Hughes a good beating? Or, like in those TV dramas, grab that little girl by the hair and drag her to the floor? The liking and infatuation in the young girl’s eyes were painfully obvious. He was just that kind of man—if he weren’t优秀 enough, weren’t attractive enough, how would she have fallen for him? She liked him this much, so it was only natural others would feel the same. But seeing a scene like this still made her both furious and heartbroken.

”Get out of the way.” She frowned impatiently and snapped. Fortunately, Joshua Hughes wasn’t actually holding the girl in his arms, or she really would have bitten a chunk of flesh out of his hand. When had her thoughts suddenly become so violent?

”Who are you?” This woman might look beautiful, but her temper was really bad. Women from rich families were all spoiled like this; no wonder this man would come here drowning his sorrows in drink.

”Who else could find this place? I’m his wife.” Before she had proof, she didn’t want to believe Nora Thompson’s words. Joshua Hughes had said they were married, so she chose to believe they were. Which meant that now, coming out openly and righteously to drag him home, there was nothing wrong with that.

”This is a club. The manager told me to keep him company.” The meaning in the woman’s words was obvious: this wasn’t his home, she was here to accompany Joshua Hughes, and she had no intention of leaving.

Keep him company? Was he a regular here? A man of his status, coming to this kind of money-burning den, would of course be treated with the utmost care. Just hearing that kind of talk was harsh and made her uncomfortable to the extreme.
