Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

The supervisor’s collar was grabbed, tightly enough to make him almost suffocate. How could he be blamed for this? He thought that this woman was involved with someone high up, so naturally, he approved the leave note she submitted immediately. Who would have thought it would land him in so much trouble? Now, seeing Joshua Hughes’s eyes, red as blood, he felt it wasn’t just trouble; it was as if he had stirred a hornet’s nest, or perhaps something even more dangerous, like a powder keg.

”President Hughes, I didn’t know I couldn’t approve it. She followed the normal procedure. I really didn’t know...” His face had turned red, and he found it difficult to speak clearly.

Joshua Hughes threw him onto the sofa, his eyes cold as ice, grabbed his suit jacket, and quickly walked outside. The plane should already be ready. He was thinking only of one thing now, to bring her back, and this time he wouldn’t let her be so wilful.

On the plane, the bodyguard was reporting all the latest information: ”Miss Jane and Miss White booked a room at the Sydney Ritz-Carlton Hotel, under Miss White’s name, a special offer room at 2500 yuan per night for a sea view, booked for two nights. Miss Jane’s plane has now landed at the airport. They should be heading to the hotel soon. The hotel has been instructed, as soon as Miss Jane checks in, someone will follow her. We can know Miss Jane’s whereabouts at any time.”

Joshua Hughes’s eyes were blood-red. He clearly knew she might just be having fun, clearly knew she just wanted to relax a bit, but he couldn’t stop worrying, he simply couldn’t. Without saying much, his thick eyelashes slowly lowered, his slender fingers slowly clenched, tighter and tighter, as if holding her tightly in his palm.

Sydney Ritz-Carlton Hotel

Nora Thompson stood in the hotel lobby, having chosen to come alone. She told Isaac Thompson that she wanted to walk quietly by herself.

Without saying a word, Isaac Thompson booked the supposedly highest suite of the hotel for her. As she walked towards the lobby, a slender woman’s figure suddenly caught her eye, and her dull nerves suddenly became lively and active. It was Avery Jane, definitely her. Even just her silhouette was beautiful enough to warrant a second look.

”Avery Jane?” She stepped forward, calling out.

The woman turned her head, and indeed it was her, but her eyes looked at her as if she was a stranger, as if she didn’t recognize her at all.

”Do we know each other?” Avery Jane heard someone calling her name. How coincidental that someone could recognize her in this unfamiliar city? Turning around, a fair and delicate girl stood behind her, questioning in her eyes.

”What’s wrong with you, Avery Jane? I’m Nora Thompson?” She really didn’t recognize her; it confirmed her suspicion. Joshua Hughes must have somehow made her forget the past, but where was Joshua Hughes? How come he wasn’t there?

Avery Jane looked a bit embarrassed and lowered her head. She didn’t know how to tell people that she had fallen and hit her head, losing many of her memories.

”Where’s Joshua Hughes?” Seeing Avery Jane’s condition, Nora Thompson became more certain that Avery Jane couldn’t remember past events.

She had to help Avery Jane escape that man’s clutches, remembering how Beckett Wright rescued her from Hughes Manor, looking as if she was about to die. What terrifying means did Joshua Hughes use to make her forget past people and events?

”He’s not here. I came by myself.” This girl even knew Joshua Hughes, so she must be a friend of hers and Joshua Hughes. Although she wasn’t particularly stunning, there was a calm, serene beauty about her, detached from worldly struggles.

”Come with me quickly.” Nora Thompson’s clear eyes glanced around, feeling a little afraid, as if Joshua Hughes might emerge from thin air at any moment. ”Why?”

Avery Jane found the girl a bit strange. She bore no ill intentions, but she somehow made her feel uneasy.

”Do you know what happened to you before? Avery Jane, a person can’t be without a past, because those without a past are like birds without a sky.” Nora Thompson was very anxious. She didn’t know how to make Avery Jane believe her, and she felt Joshua Hughes could appear before them at any moment.
