Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

The sound of the door opening came from outside; he was back. Avery Jane’s lips curled into a faint, sweet smile: ”Then I’ll wait for your message. Goodbye.” She hung up the phone, opened the bedroom door, and walked out.

Avery looked at the tall and slender figure. What was happening to her? She seemed to have been infatuated, thinking about him more and more lately.

Opening her arms, she wrapped them around his firm waist: ”Why are you back so early?” This was earlier than he usually came home. He’d had quite a lot of social events recently, sometimes staying out very late. To be home at this hour today was indeed quite early. She leaned against his chest, indulging in the faint musk scent emanating from him. It seemed like he had also smoked, the two scents mingling together, full of a man’s allure. She didn’t see the deep heartache and affection in Joshua Hughes’s eyes.

”What’s wrong?” Avery noticed he was different today. The two of them sat on the sofa, and Avery gently rubbed his slightly furrowed brow: ”Is there trouble with the company?” What could be bothering him so? It must be something big. Her first instinct was to wonder if there was a problem with the project?

”No.” He held her tightly, enveloping her in his embrace. The faint fragrance that emitted from her body was like a thread drawn from tangled silk, creeping in unopposed, swirling around boundlessly, restraining him entirely without any chance of escape.

”You’re tired, should I go run you a bath?” Avery wanted to break free, but he held her even tighter.

The gentler she was, the more afraid he became. He couldn’t bear the way she treated him so well. If one day she was gone, if she left, would he have to live off these memories for the rest of his life?

---------------------------Line Break----------------------------

The bathroom was clouded with steam. The man in the bathtub closed his eyes, taking a deep, comfortable breath....

In the oversized bathtub, the man’s robust physique stretched, the deep wheat-colored skin forming a sharp contrast with the porcelain white of the tub. The bathtub, equipped with massage functions, delivered warm water from each outlet, sometimes forceful and sometimes gentle, soaking every inch of his skin. His strong body, solid muscles, and long, powerful legs were all assets worthy of flaunting; his body was full of allure to women.

Joshua Hughes leaned back in the bathtub, a smile on his lips, enjoying her small hands massaging him, gently working on his somewhat stiff shoulders. His entangled muscle lines displayed the exhaustion of this body’s owner. She gritted her teeth, increasing the pressure of her hands, trying to knead out every tight muscle, wanting him to relax a bit.

Accidentally meeting his eyes, his gaze was so fiery that she dared not meet it for too long, deeply afraid such a gaze might scorch her........

Her heart skipped a few beats: ”Avery, why don’t you dare look at me, hmm?” His large hand gently lifted her small face, making it impossible for her to avoid blushing and a racing heart. His deep, magnetic voice was full of allure. Avery’s eyes met his gaze briefly, feeling even more embarrassed by his teasing, her long eyelashes shielding the waves of emotions in her eyes as she glanced at him from the corner of her eye.

A low laugh came from his chest cavity: ”You’re already my wife, yet you’re still so shy seeing your man’s body. Am I not trying hard enough to train you?”

His shoulder lines were solid and beautiful; she almost wanted to take a bite: ”Stop messing around, I’m giving you a massage here.” This man, although looking very serious in public, always spoke so shamelessly in private.

He could feel her small hands’ gentle caress clearly, the extreme comfort from her fingertips’ touch almost made him lose control. It was the first time she looked carefully at his body under such light. Usually, it was at night and with her eyes too tired to open from being tossed around by him. She hadn’t properly observed before. His body bore some scars, big and small; these scars spoke of the dangerous past he once had. What kind of man was he? Wasn’t he the one who controlled the Hughes Clan? Wasn’t he the one who managed the most significant and vast wealth? How could he have so many scars, some nearly fatal, though time had somewhat masked them, still not hard to discern the severity back then.

Her finger lightly traced over a scar on his back: ”Does it hurt?”

A mist of tears welled in her eyes; she didn’t know if it was from the heat or because of this scar. His back had beautiful lines, a perfect inverted triangle, yet it bore this somewhat sinister-looking scar. Clearly, it should have appeared frightening, yet she found that such a man was even more attractive, making him exude a rough masculinity.......
