Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Feeling a sense of relief after realizing that the old man wasn’t moving towards the Frozen Wasteland any longer, Xuan Hao’s relief soon disappeared after he realized that the old man was instead moving in the direction of the Blue Sea Empire.

Although he didn’t have any problems between himself and the Blue Sea Empire at the moment, he could not help feeling a bit uneasy knowing that the Blue Sea Empire was currently searching for Pei Yang. Even though he should be safe, he felt that there would always be a chance that one of the Blue Sea Empire’s special artifacts for recognizing people’s aura had managed to somehow notice him and Pei Yang together before he had left.

No matter how little the chance of something like this happening was, he still felt that there was a possibility this happened. Even if the more sensible part of his mind told him that this was impossible, as the Blue Sea Empire’s experts would long since have descended on the Sky Empire if they really figured out that he was related to Pei Yang.

Whoosh~

It was with this sense of unease that he once again arrived at the border of the Blue Sea Empire following behind the old man. Soon finding himself at a small border city where he followed the Blue Sea Empire’s standard procedures for entering their empire without any problems without being noticed by the old man who did the exact same thing not too far away from him.

Of course, given their close proximity, he also managed to overhear the identity that the old man gave the border guards, a wandering cultivator, something that was undoubtedly not true considering the countless artifacts and other things far beyond the means of someone in the Domain Lord Realm that he had on him… And that was not even mentioning the fact that he seemed to be out doing maintenance on the seals on someone else’s order.

In the end, after everything at the border city was finished, Xuan Hao soon found himself silently following the old man through the Blue Sea Empire once again. Not having encountered a single problem so far, showing that his earlier fear over being noticed as someone related to Pei Yang was not anything to be worried about.

…

At the same time Xuan Hao was slowly following after the old man in search of the last seal he needed to find to complete the quest from the system, the situation inside the Blue Sea Empire was becoming increasingly unstable due to the large number of illusory beasts that had been running rampant since his last visit to the Blue Sea Empire.

Even after the failure of the East Sea Army and some of the other armies of the Blue Sea Empire showing up to suppress the illusory beasts, they hadn’t managed to act in time and ended up giving the illusory beasts the chance to spread out across the Blue Sea Empire. Making them far harder to find compared to when they had all been gathered in one location.

In the end, an ancestor in the Celestial Immortal Realm was forced to show up and help suppress the situation before it spiraled out of control and an illusory beast in the Celestial Immortal Realm appeared.

However, when this powerful ancestor appeared to suppress the illusory beasts, they once again gathered together into a single entity and forced back the Celestial Immortal Realm ancestor of the Blue Sea Empire.

Although this didn’t come without cost for the illusory beasts, it still caused the situation to become far more dangerous than the Blue Sea Empire had initially expected. Forcing them to take things a bit more slowly when it came to cleaning up the illusory beasts. In the end deciding to clean them up one by one instead of trying to deal with all of them at once to avoid possibly losing one of their Celestial Immortal Realm ancestors in the process.

Of course, the current unstable situation of the Blue Sea Empire was due to this, as the illusory beasts ended up being able to cause chaos while the Earth Immortal Realm Experts of the Blue Sea Empire chased them down and killed them off one by one.

Even though doing things like this did damage the inner and outer regions of the Blue Sea Empire to some extent and they ended up losing quite a few of their smaller and less protected cities, it was ultimately far better than them potentially losing a Celestial Immortal Realm ancestor. Especially considering that the core region of the Blue Sea Empire remained completely untouched. Not harming the core resources of the Blue Sea Empire. Only damaging some of the less important areas that they didn’t care too much about-

Ptsh-!

And it was in this kind of chaotic situation that the General of the East Sea Army and his army was used as the main force for taking out these isolated illusory beasts that strayed too far away from the rest of the illusory beasts to merge together with them.

”Another one down, this makes a total of sixty-four for our East Sea Army…” Standing at the front of his flying ship as he muttered this to himself while gazing at the illusory beast crashed into the ground a few hundred meters away from where his ship was hovering, the general in question let out an exhausted sigh as he turned to look over his soldiers.

Given that his army had been used as the main force for an extended period of time without a single chance to rest, the East Sea Army had weakened quite a bit during the last year, as a fair share of powerful soldiers had ended up dying during the countless battles with illusory beasts, two of the Earth Immortals of the East Sea Army had even ended up dying.

”General… It’s clear that those people don’t want our East Sea Army to continue existing. Even if there was a fear of the illusory beasts merging together to resist the Celestial Immortal Realm ancestor in the past, over half of the illusory beasts have already been killed by us…” Just at this moment, one of the Earth Immortals from the East Sea Army walked up as he said this in a solemn tone.

”General, don’t you think it’s time to-”

”Haaa… I understand what you mean, we don’t have the support of an ancestor, so it will be hard for us to do anything about the current situation without the backing of someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm. Maybe it’s really time to do as they wish and disband…” ”””…”””

Following the general’s words, a depressed atmosphere engulfed the deck of the flying ship as all of the soldiers looked towards their two superiors with conflicted expressions. All of them, understanding the implications of the conversation between the two.

”General…” ”No need, what you say is right, we can’t continue like this, I will sort out a few things and come up with a final decision on the matter soon. For now, move the ship to the towards the closest city and inform the ancestor about our recent successful kill.”

Whoosh~

Not bothering to stay on the bridge of the ship for even a single second longer after he finished saying this, the general disappeared back inside the ship before his subordinate had a chance to say anything. Leaving the fellow in stunned state as he could only shake his head before taking out a special communication talisman to carry out the order he had received. Understanding that this might be the last time he would see his general in action.

…

Following after the old man as he continued making his way deeper inside the Blue Sea Empire, Xuan Hao could not help growing a bit worried as he wondered if the last seal might be located somewhere in the inner region of the Blue Sea Empire.

Luckily, after two days of travelling without stopping, the old man finally slowed down and descended towards a small city located along the massive river that connected the Blue Sea Empire to the Sky Empire and the endless ocean.

Is the last seal perhaps located inside the river…?

Not able to stop this thought from appearing as he watched the old man, Xuan Hao could not help remembering the massive demon beast that he had encountered during his first trip to the Blue Sea Empire.

Although he had managed to reach the Late Stage of the Dao Domain Lord Realm and could now understand that the serpent from back then should have been a demon beast comparable to an Earth Immortal with a nine layered dao lotus, he didn’t feel any less worried about what kind of terrifying demon beasts might be hiding inside the lake.

Whoosh~

However, he didn’t intend to give up on the following the old man because of something like this. Especially considering that the old man who was only at the Peak of the Domain Lord Realm showed no sign of worrying about the lake and what might be hidden beneath the surface.
