Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Ignoring his disciples mishandling of the spiritual herbs, Xuan Hao soon continued his journey back towards the Seventh Star Peak. The only difference compared to before being that Qing Yi was now following him as she eagerly asked about his help when it came to improving her alchemy.

Considering that both of them had reached the Artisan Realm at this point in time, he didn’t try to do something beyond his abilities and instead decided to just use some of the vast knowledge he had obtained through the system to expand her field of view regarding the different potions, pills and spiritual herbs that existed out there.

Although it was not nearly as useful as if he had been in the Master Realm and had the ability to teach her how to progress in the Artisan Realm, the expansion of knowledge regarding alchemy still helped improve her understanding of alchemy to a degree that was large enough for Qing Yi to full believe that her master’s understanding of alchemy was still far beyond her own.

At the same time, the fact that he was now having a hard time teaching Qing Yi when it came to alchemy, reminded him of the emergency quest he just had to go through because Bai Ning had ended up surpassing him.

No matter what, he didn’t want to get another emergency quest from the system again in the future. After all, he had no idea if he would be lucky enough to stumble upon a blacksmith that happened to break through to the Saint Realm just when he was around. Not to mention, he had no idea if the system would only want him to reach the Pseudo Saint Realm the next time around.

After all, the last emergency quest had appeared when Bai Ning had reached the Artisan Realm and had begun taking steps towards the Master Realm. If the next emergency quest appeared due to Qing Yi reaching the Master Realm in alchemy, he might very well end up facing an emergency quest that required him to become a Saint Realm Alchemist within three months, something he wanted to avoid at all costs if possible…

”Master is it really true that something like the wobbly pill will turn one’s bones into a wobbly, gel-like substance, making movement difficult and uncoordinated. Serving no practical purpose other than being a rather unsettling experience, exists? Who would make something like that? Isn’t it just a waste of spiritual herbs?” As they were about to reach the entrance of the palace, Qing Yi could not help curiously asking about one of the pills that her master had taught her about during their rather long journey back to the Seventh Star Peak. Feeling a sense of wonder as to whether or not the wobbly pill described by her master really existed. Not able to convince herself that an alchemist would waste their time developing something like that... And all of this not even mentioning the fact that the wobbly pill was of the Soul Grade and required quite a few spiritual herbs to create.

”Indeed… It’s a waste of spiritual herbs, but the wobbly pill does exist. Although, I doubt there would be anyone willing to create such a pill outside of someone trying to find new ways of torture someone.” Nodding his head in agreement with what Qing Yi said, Xuan Hao also felt that the existence of the wobbly pill was a waste of resources.

Even then, according to the information about the pill that he got from the system, the wobbly pill did indeed exist somewhere out there.

Thinking about it, the unlucky alchemist who happened to obtain the recipe for the wobbly pill might even be unlucky enough to misunderstand its effect and think that it’s some kind of bone tempering pill that can help enhance the strength of one’s body…

”Alchemist really are… Unique…” Muttering this after hearing what her master said, Qing Yi felt like her view of the alchemy profession had been overturned with the existence of a single pill. Not only that, but she also realized that the other pill that her master had mentioned on their way back to the palace should also be real.

As this realization set in, Qing Yi realized that her way of handling alchemy might have been wrong, alchemy was not just about the creation of pills and elixirs that assisted someone in their cultivation.

”Master, I seem to have gained some inspiration after our conversation-

”I understand, you can leave.” ”Thank you!” Knowing that Qing Yi seemed to have gained some kind of enlightenment in the Dao of Alchemy after being exposed to the different weird pills and elixirs of the system, Xuan Hao sent her off. Understanding that even a single second wasted might end up ruining his little disciple’s chance.

”Hm? Qing Yi? Wha are-”

Whoosh-!

Stepping out of the palace just at this moment, Bai Ning barely managed to dodge Qing Yi as she dashed inside the palace in the direction of her room without saying anything, her full attention being focused on the spark of enlightenment she had experienced just now. Not daring to think of anything else in fear that it might end up disrupting what she had gained from the moment of enlightenment she had just experienced.

Thump~

In the end Bai Ning was unlucky and could be considered to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, as the wind dragged along by Qing Yi’s fast speed hit him directly in the stomach. Knocking him to the ground in one fell swoop.

It didn’t matter how strong he was in the Core Formation Realm; Qing Yi was still someone in the Nascent Soul Realm. Even the wind created by her rushing past him was enough to knock him over and take the wind out of his lungs.

”Haaa… What was that for…?” Getting up a few seconds after Qing Yi disappeared into the palace, Bai Ning could not help silently cursing his senior sister for her rude behavior.

”Huh?”

However, it was also at this moment that he realized that his senior sister did not come alone. No, someone came along with her and from the looks of things, the person was-

”Master!?”

Realizing that the person who had been standing beside his senior sister this time around was none other than his master, someone he had been searching for over the past month, as he already reached the requirement set up by Xuan Hao for him to teach him about how to reach the Master Realm in Blacksmithing.

”Indeed, it’s me. Don’t blame your senior sister too much for earlier, she just happened to experience enlightenment for the first time and should be rather excited about using this opportunity to increase her own understanding of the Dao of Alchemy. Maybe she might even be able to increase her cultivation,”

”This… To think that senior sister managed to experience the feeling of enlightenment after talking with master about alchemy!” Hearing that his senior sister had actually managed to experience the legendary enlightenment that he had only ever heard about in legends or from the elders of the sect, Bai Ning could not help himself from looking forward to learning more about blacksmithing from his master.

After all, at this point in time he had already waited for a month longer than what he and his master had first agreed on, so he eager to get started as fast as possible so he could be gin starting to break through to the Master Realm and become the first Master Blacksmith of the Star Shattering Sect.

Of course, excluding the recently joined Yi Min, who had managed to reach the Pseudo Saint Realm. Far exceeding the Master Realm that she had been in only a few months earlier.

”M-master~ Can-”

”Let’s move to the Sea of a Thousand Furnaces before starting, I will guide you into reaching the Master Realm there… And don’t try to do that again!” Hearing Bai Ning suddenly call out to him in a coy tone of voice, completely unbefitting of him, Xuan Hao immediately interrupted him before he had a chance to say anything more before warning him to not do that again.

”Yes!”

Understanding that his master would be teaching him blacksmithing like he wanted, Bai Ning just happily nodded his head before following after his master as both of them began making their way towards the Sea of a Thousand Furnaces.

During the entire journey there, Xuan Hao made sure to keep both of them out of sight of any of the disciples moving past them, while at the same time answering any of the questions that Bai Ning had regarding blacksmithing.

Now that he was officially someone in the Pseudo Saint Realm, he was more than qualified to teach someone like Bai Ning, who had not even reached the Master Realm yet.

At least for now, he didn’t have to worry about his disciple overtaking him when it came to blacksmithing…
