Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 198, Blue Dragon King – Wrath of the Storm!

Translator: Silavin

This place was exactly at the tip of the Blood Moon’s Owner’s tail.

The Blood Moon’s Owner’s tail was covered in ice and snow, forming a not-so-low hill at this spot.

Lu Fan and the others stood on the hillside, looking towards the deeper parts of the Far North, and immediately saw a vast frozen lake.

Calling it a lake was an understatement; it was more like a sea. As far as the eye could see, this vast ‘lake’ was endless, with only a smooth ice surface visible.

Strangely, even though the blizzard had just ended, there was only ice on this great lake. There was no snow.

It seemed as if this great lake didn’t belong to the Far North at all, as if the blizzard of the Far North had suddenly stopped before reaching this lake.

The ice layer on the lake surface was of unknown thickness, but it was very smooth, like a mirror. This meant that through this possibly tens or even hundreds of metres of thick ice, one could still see the deep blue-black lake water beneath the surface.

At the same time, when everyone looked into the lake, the first thing they saw was a huge black iron chain extending from under their feet.

This chain seemed to stretch out from the Blood Moon’s Owner’s body, hidden in the snow and ice, finally plunging into the lake bottom and extending forward, with its other end connected to who knows what.

This chain, like the Blood Moon’s Owner, was enormous to the extreme.

This single chain alone was like a small mountain range to Lu Fan and the others.

When thinking about it, one eye of the Blood Moon’s Owner was like a Moon hanging in the sky to ordinary people. It was not hard to imagine how thick the chain binding this monstrosity must be.

Because the ice layer and accumulated snow on the Blood Moon’s Owner’s body were too thick, everyone could only roughly see the outline of its body. Naturally, no one knew exactly where on the Blood Moon’s Owner’s body this chain was tied to.

Overall, the Blood Moon’s Owner was like a Mount, with this chain wrapped around its body, serving as a rein to control it.

With this thought, Lu Fan unconsciously felt his back start to sweat. [The Fallen Corpse Ruin Lu Luo had mentioned might just be related to this chain… If we continue to explore along the direction the chain is extended to, we might be able to find the so-called ‘Fallen Corpse Ruin’…]

Lu Fan was already shocked by the scene before him, let alone Lui Fei and the others.

They had not expected that after finally fully exploring the body of the Blood Moon’s Owner, what they would see next would be such a sight.

Lu Fan had now come to his senses and, seeing that Lui Fei and the others were still staring in shock at the chain extending deep into the bottom of the lake, he decided to use the Treasure Map secretly first.

His biggest purpose for coming to the Far North was to claim his Divine Grade Treasure Map. And now, this map could finally be claimed.

Lu Fan carefully compared the coordinates of the Treasure Map with his current position and found a slight discrepancy.

After walking a few steps to the side, his location coordinates completely matched those of the Treasure Map!

Although he had anticipated it, the rewards from this Divine Grade Treasure Map still brought him immense delight.

[As expected, it is another Dragon Egg! Counting this one, this one is my fourth Dragon Egg. My fourth Xiao Ye!]

Lu Fan hurriedly opened the System Panel to check his biggest gain from this busy month.

Dragon Egg: (Mythical Grade Special Item)
Description: Dragon Taming Skill can be used on it to tame it. Upon successful use, obtain Pet Dragon – Blue Dragon King – Wrath of the Storm (Baby Dragon).

A Mythical Grade Special Item, with a name that includes ‘Dragon King’ as a suffix. All factors indicated that the Pet Dragon in this Egg was definitely of the same rank as Xiao Cui, Xiao Ye, and Xing Chen. They were all Pure Blood Dragon Kings.

Moreover, Lu Fan was actually not unfamiliar with the Blue Dragon King. His most powerful Skill so far was Roar of the Blue Dragon King.

Just from this Dragon Language Magic Skill alone, Lu Fan could tell that the Blue Dragon King should be a Combat Specialised Dragon that was able to control the Lightning Element. It would be more adept at Magic Attack.

This was completely different from Xing Chen, a Combat Specialised Dragon specialised in Physical Attack. It seems like if he could hatch this Pet Dragon, Lu Fan’s Mana Attribute would get another big boost.

Along with Xiao Cui’s Super High Mana Attribute, when Lu Fan uses Dragon Language Magic in the future, its Attack Power would increase by several folds again.

If Lu Fan had changed to Dragon Spellcaster for his Second Profession, with the Blue Dragon King, in the future, he might had been able to deal world-destroying blows to enemies with just a casual Skill.

However, Lu Fan had no regrets choosing his current Profession. After all, being a Silver Dragon Rider was amazing.

Among his Pet Dragons, there was Xiao Ye’s Destruction Dragon Form, and Xiao Cui’s Dragon Qi that could cause a lot of damage. With another Blue Dragon King in the future, Magic Attack was the least Lu Fan would be lacking in.

So, Lu Fan felt that he really should Level Up Xing Chen properly. In the future, for Physical Attack, he might still have to rely on Xing Chen, a Physical Combat Specialised Dragon, to hold up the fort.

Now that he had obtained his fourth Dragon Egg, Lu Fan naturally wanted to hatch it and let it grow up together with Xing Chen as childhood sweethearts.

However, his Pet Sub-Space was full again. The situation of having a Dragon Egg but no way to hatch it occurred once more.

Lu Fan inwardly blamed himself, thinking he really should have found a way to get a Pet Sub-Space Expansion Scroll first.

If he had opened the fourth Pet Slot before coming, he would not have to helplessly stare at this Dragon Egg again.

With no other choice, Lu Fan could only plan to go to the Prosperous Heaven Auction House after returning to see if there were any Pet Sub-Space Expansion Scrolls up for auction.

Coincidentally, Lu Fan still had one quota to get an auction item from the Prosperous Heaven Auction House. Although Lu Fan was eager for this Dragon Egg, he could only keep it safe for now and think of a way to hatch it later.

Lu Fan began to check the other reward from the Treasure Map, the Skill Book.

For Lu Fan, a Skill Book was much better than a Dragon Blood Potion.

A Dragon Blood Potion could increase each of his Four Attributes by 20 points, which was very useful in the early stages. However, now that his Four Attributes were all nearly two thousand each, he really did not care about a mere 20 Attribute increase in each.

A bottle of Dragon Blood Potion was really not as practical as a Skill Book.

After Lu Fan read the description of the Skill Book, he became even more excited. [This Skill Book is worthy of being a product of a Divine Grade Treasure Map! It is truly overpowered!]

Profession Skill Book – Dragon Language Resonance
Required Profession: Silver Dragon Rider

Required Level: 35

Description: After use, learn the Skill – Dragon Language Resonance

Dragon Language Resonance (Passive) – When the Silver Dragon Rider uses the same Skill as the Pet Dragon, it triggers the Dragon Language Resonance Effect, increasing the Skill Power of both by 100%.

[My god!] Lu Fan exclaimed in his mind. After all, although this Skill was a Passive Skill, its effect was too powerful.

If Lu Fan used the same Skill as his Pet Dragon, it would directly increase the Skill Power of both by one fold!

Dragon Language Magic was already terrifyingly powerful, and increasing it by another fold, would the enemies have any chance of survival?

Of course, although this Skill was powerful, its restrictions were still quite high.

Take the current Lu Fan for example, this Skill was not usable for him right now because he did not have any Skills that were the same as his Pet Dragons. In other words, Lu Fan currently had no way to trigger this Passive Skill.

Perhaps after hatching the Blue Dragon King, which should have the Roar of the Blue Dragon King Skill, could he trigger Dragon Language Resonance.

[If the Blue Dragon King and I simultaneously released Roar of the Blue Dragon King, and then doubled the Attack Power through Dragon Language Resonance, that scene would surely be incredible!]

This Skill Book could only be learned at Level 35. Lu Fan had already reached Level 34 after constantly killing Monsters over the past two days, so he was only one Level away from being able to learn this Skill.

With no other choice, Lu Fan put this Skill Book away as well, planning to learn it after his Level was high enough.

Lu Fan made a plan in his heart. [Currently, there are two urgent matters. One – to quickly find a Pet Sub-Space Expansion Scroll which will allow me to hatch my fourth Pet Dragon as soon as possible. Two – to quickly Level Up me and Xing Chen, and learn Dragon Language Resonance. Once Xing Chen gets stronger, she can enter her Growth Period to be able to truly participate in tougher future battles.]

[In the future, I now need to have the Prosperous Heaven Auction House keep an eye out for Pet Sub-Space Expansion Scrolls, as well as Dragon Language Magic Skill Books that I would be able to use. The former is to allow me to open up several more Pet Slots, to avoid not being able to hatch my Dragon Eggs immediately the next time I manage to claim one. The latter is to allow me to master several more Skills, to make it more likely to trigger Dragon Language Resonance.]

Lu Fan knew that his Silver Dragon Rider Profession was very much about cooperation with his Pet Dragons. Almost every Profession Skill could be paired with Pet Dragons to produce stronger variations.

The more Skills he had and the more Pet Dragons he had, the stronger the Combat Power he could display, when Human and Pet Dragons cooperated.

Each additional Skill would enhance Lu Fan’s strength more significantly than other Professions.

After secretly making plans to improve his strength in the future, Lu Fan returned to Lui Fei and the others.

At this time, Lui Fei and the others had also come to their senses. Seeing Lu Fan walk over from a bit further away, they asked Lu Fan where he had been.

Lu Fan smiled and then answered, “Nothing, I was just looking around nearby.”

As he spoke, Lu Fan immediately changed the subject, pointing at the endless ice lake in front, saying, “Brother Lui, do you think there’s a new explorable area ahead?”

“I have a feeling that this might already be the edge of the Far North area…”

Lui Fei did not further probe into what Lu Fan had been doing just now. He just said without thinking, “I guess there’s also a new area ahead, but to say that this is the edge of the Far North is most likely wrong. Technically, everything north of Dragon Country is the Far North. This area is very large, and although we have explored quite a distance, the Far North should be more than just this area. I’m more inclined to think that the area ahead is just somewhere embedded in the middle of the Far North. Although this area looks endless, it should only be a part of the Far North’s inner region.”
