Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 166, Lu Fan Released an Entire Pacific Ocean of Water

Translator: Silavin

Lu Fan thought for a moment and seriously stated. “Actually… not even one-tenth.”

After hearing this, the principal remained silent for a long time. If someone else had said this, probably no one would believe it. A level 32 Second Profession Player defeating a level 76 Third Profession Player, dominating the entire fight, and then saying they did not even use one-tenth of their true strength. Anyone would think this person was just bragging

However, the principal believed everything Lu Fan said was true.

It could be seen that from beginning to end, although Lu Fan had all five Dragons out, in the end, the five Dragons barely did anything substantial. In fact, Lu Fan might be being modest. Throughout the battle with Ruan Changfeng, how many trump cards had he hidden, and had not used?

Xiao Ye used Black Dragon Pressure, which was enough to instantly defeat Ruan Changfeng but Lu Fan had Xiao Ye retract this Crowd Control Skill, and later barely let her participate in the battle.

Xiao Ye’s terrifying Strength Attribute in her World Destroyer Form, and the destructive power of her Destruction Dragon Form, were never displayed.

Not to mention Xiao Cui and Xing Chen, who acted more like spectators.

Xiao Cui only casted a Skill twice, and Lu Fan even removed Jade Shield at the end. It was just too overpowered for Ruan Changfeng, who did not excel at attacking. If Jade Shield had not been removed, Ruan Changfeng would not have been able to do anything to Lu Fan.

Xing Chen, from beginning to end, only acted once, crushing Ruan Changfeng’s Sky Mount in one strike.

The true strength of these two Dragons was never displayed.

Neither Xiao Cui’s other Enhancement Skills and her two Forms, nor Xing Chen’s two Skills, were ever used.

If any of these Skills had been used, Ruan Changfeng would probably have been instantly defeated.

As for the Flying Dragon Kings, they too were holding back. The two Flying Dragon Kings seemed to have been bombarding Ruan Changfeng fiercely at the beginning, but in reality, they only released the Wind Element Dragon Breath from their Five Elements Dragon Breath.

If it had been their Lightning Element Dragon Breath or Fire Element Dragon Breath, Ruan Changfeng would not have been able to charge out even with his Holy Light Shield. He would have been directly buried by the Dragon Breath.

The strongest Skills of the two Flying Dragon Kings were actually Dragon Language Unsealing, followed by Apocalyptic Collision and Five Elements Dragon Incantation.

Ruan Changfeng was simply not strong enough to see these two Dragon Language Magic Forbidden Spells. If he had seen them, Ruan Changfeng would not have had the chance to receive treatment from Priests.

It could be said that none of the five Dragons really participated in that battle, yet Ruan Changfeng was already unable to cope. In fact, the Dragons had already released an entire Pacific Ocean of water, and Lu Fan had to stop them multiple times for Ruan Changfeng to have a chance to engage in close combat.

However, even given the chance for close combat, what Skills did Ruan Changfeng force out of Lu Fan?

Lu Fan only used one Dragon Language Magic Skill. He also did use his Flying Dragon King’s Bone Wings, but its strongest Additional Skill, Dragon Language Unsealing, was still left unused. As for his Second Profession Skills, Lu Fan did not use a single one, let alone use their evolved version like Dragon’s Annihilation.

Lu Fan had actually spent more effort holding back to prevent Ruan Changfeng from being eliminated too early than he did when fighting against Ruan Changfeng. He had feared that he might accidentally cause Ruan Changfeng to lose his ability to fight, and miss this opportunity to practise with a High Level Player.

With so many of Lu Fan’s trump cards left unused, it was fair to say less than one-tenth of his true strength has been displayed. If Lu Fan had really gone all out, applying all Enhancement Buffs, with Xiao Cui switching to her Soul Light Form and attaching to Xiao Ye in her Destruction Dragon Form; Dragon Qi surrounding Xiao Ye as she uses Magma Burst, while Xing Chen also prepares a Shatter Star at Ruan Changfeng’s forehead. As for the two Flying Dragon Kings, they would cast their Five Elements Dragon Incantation, coordinating with his Dragon’s Dance for an insane bombardment.

Would Ruan Changfeng have any chance of survival at that point? He most likely would not even leave behind any remains.

Lu Fan could only hope now that those representatives from other countries participating in the National Trial were really as strong as Ruan Changfeng had said. Otherwise, all his active preparation would be a waste of time and energy. He would much rather have tea and go shopping with the four beauties than keep running Dungeon Instances all the time.

After Lu Fan answered the principal’s question, the principal remained silent for a long time before finally saying, “Less than one-tenth… Very good. My decision to have you participate in the National Trial has been proven to have been the right choice. Lu Fan, although you and your Pet Dragons are already very strong, this National Trial is being held in Extremistis Country, and the other countries also have prodigies who can be called monsters like you. You still can’t underestimate your opponents.”

Lu Fan nodded and said. “Don’t worry, principal. I’ll be careful and cautious in the National Trial.”

“Good.” The principal nodded slightly, then lightly tapped their staff. Another Transport Array formed from flames appeared before them. “Come back with me to the reception hall first.”

“Alright.” Lu Fan followed the principal onto the Transport Array and they were teleported back to the reception hall together.

Seeing Lu Fan and the principal return, the various University leaders who had been waiting became agitated.

They did not know what had happened during the assessment, but everyone felt that Lu Fan had returned too quickly.

[It has only been about ten minutes, and the assessment is already over? The results don’t seem too optimistic…]

All theUniversity leaders believed that expecting Lu Fan to defeat Ruan Changfeng, a Third Profession Player, was almost impossible. So, in their minds, the longer Lu Fan’s assessment took, the longer it meant Lu Fan had held out against Ruan Changfeng.

If Lu Fan could hold out for half an hour, even if he lost, Dragon Capital University could still report it and try to push for Lu Fan to retain his spot.

However, the assessment had ended so quickly, which caused many of their hearts to sink.

[As expected, even with Pet Dragons, if their Level is too low, it would still be hard to qualify for the National Trial… The spot that our University had worked so hard to get is now lost…]

The atmosphere at the venue was somewhat heavy. The principal seemed to not notice this though. After returning, the principal ignored them and just spoke to Lu Fan, “For this assessment, I believe even Ruan Changfeng won’t be able to find any problems. The spot for the National Trial Secret Realm has been secured. You can go back for now and continue preparing. Regarding reporting to the country and officially confirming your spot, the University will handle it for you. You just need to go back and wait for the University to notify you.”

“Alright, then I’ll take my leave, principal.” Lu Fan bowed, then politely said goodbye to the University leaders present before leaving the reception hall.

As soon as Lu Fan left, the University leaders who had come to their senses realised something was not quite right.

[From what the principal said, it seems like Lu Fan had passed the Special Envoy’s assessment? But how is that possible!?]

They were confused. After Lu Fan left, another vice principal came forward and asked, “Principal, what is the result of the Special Envoy’s assessment? From what you said, it seems like Lu Fan has passed?”

The principal nodded and said, “He should pass.”

“Should?” This vice principal was very confused. [Passing is passing, not passing means failing. These are clear cut results. The Special Envoy should have been able to make a definitive conclusion on the spot. So, why is the principal’s answer so uncertain?]

He looked at the closed Transport Array behind the principal and asked, even more puzzled than before, “But Lu Fan was defeated by the Special Envoy so quickly, why would the Special Envoy still let him pass the assessment? Did he do something outstanding during the assessment just now? Also, why didn’t the Special Envoy and Vice Principal Zhao return with you? Logically, if it’s confirmed that Lu Fan is the candidate for the National Trial Secret Realm, shouldn’t the Special Envoy announce it to us publicly and sign the documents here?”

“Hehe.” The principal chuckled softly, looking at this vice principal and said, “Who said Lu Fan lost to Ruan Changfeng during the assessment?”

As soon as these words were spoken, an Earth-shattering effect occurred.

All the University leaders were shocked. [H-he didn’t lose? Could it have been a draw? It couldn’t possibly be… that Lu Fan won, right!? That’s too absurd!]

However, the principal’s next words directly shattered their worldview.

“Lu Fan won. The Special Envoy has been seriously injured, and Vice Principal Zhao has taken him to the medical bay for treatment. Signing the documents to confirm Lu Fan as Dragon Country’s representative for the National Trial will have to wait until the Special Envoy’s injuries have somewhat improved.”

As he spoke, the principal raised their staff and drew another Transport Array in mid-air.

“Today’s work ends here. You can all go back now. If there are any developments regarding the National Trial, Vice Principal Zhao will notify you immediately. At that time, assist Vice Principal Zhao in completing what is necessary.”

After saying this, the principal stepped into the Transport Array and disappeared.

Although the principal had left, all the University leaders present burst into an uproar, discussing heatedly, unable to believe what the principal had just said.

“Lu Fan won? And it seemed like he easily won. He not only defeated the Special Envoy in such a short time but even sent the Special Envoy to the medical bay!”

“What on earth happened in those ten minutes…”

The University leaders were all starting to doubt reality. Of course, if they had seen with their own eyes how Lu Fan released an entire Pacific Ocean of water and how he sent Ruan Changfeng to the medical bay, they might have believed reality was upside down.

…

Under the treatment of Dragon Capital University’s Priests, Ruan Changfeng’s injuries quickly recovered by seventy to eighty percent.

Strictly speaking, as a Holy Shield Knight, his defence was the highest among all Professions, so he was very durable.

During the assessment, his Defensive Skills came one after another, and in the end, he only took one direct hit from Lu Fan’s Dragon Fang Strike.

So, Ruan Changfeng recovered the next day. It was just that the Demonic Bloodthirsty Bat could not be resurrected, and the psychological trauma Ruan Changfeng suffered was far greater than his physical injuries.

Regarding this, Ruan Changfeng could only silently swallow this bitter pill, with no way to blame Lu Fan for anything.

Although his resentment towards Lu Fan deepened, after being beaten so badly, even though he was a Special Envoy, he dared not to play any tricks on Lu Fan.

The next day, Lu Fan was called out by Zhao Shengming again. There, he met with a gloomy-faced Ruan Changfeng. The three of them, witnessed by all the University leaders, jointly signed documents confirming Lu Fan’s identity as Dragon Country’s representative.

These documents only needed to be taken back by Ruan Changfeng and be approved by the top brass to take effect.

Lu Fan was basically confirmed as Dragon Country’s representative for the National Trial. What he needed to do now was to prepare diligently and wait for the National Trial to start, which would be in a month’s time.

…

On the night Lu Fan was officially confirmed as Dragon Country’s representative, in a military camp in the Far North.

“Hahaha, that useless coward got beaten up? How goddamn satisfying!”
