Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 185, The Overpowered Attributes of the Dragon Saddle

Translator: Silavin

With the Level Up, Xiao Ye let out a joyful Dragon Roar. Her body grew, with streaks of flame patterns emerging on the bottom part of her scales, making her appear even more fierce and mighty.

Compared to before, Xiao Ye’s body was now noticeably closer to that of an adult Giant Dragon.

Seeing this, Lu Fan was immediately delighted. [Level 30 is a true watershed. After reaching Level 30, Xiao Ye is clearly different from before. She has most likely entered her Maturing Period.]

Lu Fan quickly opened Xiao Ye’s Pet Panel to check, and found that not only had her Attributes skyrocketed, with All Four Attributes breaking past 10,000, but the ‘Growth Period’ after her name had also changed to ‘Maturing Period’. At the same time, although no new Skills were learned in her Destruction Dragon Form and World Destroyer Form, a new Passive had been added.

Black Dragon Perception (Passive, LV MAX) – Mature Black Dragon Race possesses keen perception, naturally able to ‘see through’ Special Effects. Thus, they are able to sense all enemies under Concealment or Illusion.
[With this Skill, even when facing High Level Assassins, I need not be that cautious anymore. Xiao Ye would be able to detect their presence.]

Due to Bloodline Sharing, a portion of this Skill’s Passive Effect would also be available to Lu Fan. Thus, he could clearly feel his perception improving by more than tenfold. Now, he was easily able to catch any slight movement around him.

Although Lu Fan might not be able to easily see through enemies’ Concealment like Xiao Ye, half of the Passive Skill’s Effect would allow him to easily detect whether there were enemies hidden in the dark around him.

Basically, Assassin Type Professions would now be of no threat to Lu Fan.

Assassins who could not conceal themselves were even less threatening than Swordsmen.

At this moment, Lu Changkong also noticed the change in Xiao Ye’s Form. Surprised, he came over to Lu Fan and asked, “Brother Lu, your Pet Dragon seems to have changed quite a bit after Levelling Up. Has it gone from its Growth Period to its Maturing Period?”

Lu Fan smiled and nodded, saying, “Yes, that’s right. Xiao Ye just reached Level 30 and she has just entered her Maturing Period.”

“Really? She has entered her Maturing Period? Doesn’t that mean your Pet Dragon can be ridden now!?” Lu Changkong’s eyes lit up as he spoke.

Riding a Dragon! This was the lifelong dream of every Knight, but unfortunately, for all Knights, this dream could only be realised in their sleep.

But Lu Fan was different. He could now become a true Dragon Knight!

Lu Fan was equally excited, smiling as he said, “Indeed, I will now be able to ride Xiao Ye.”

It was common knowledge that once a Knight Type Profession’s Pet reached the Maturing Period, it could be equipped with Saddle Type Special Equipment for Riding.

Once possessing a Mount, a Knight Type Player’s strength would soar!

Lu Fan was also looking forward to seeing how much his strength would increase after becoming a true Silver Dragon Rider.

Lu Fan and Lu Changkong’s conversation also attracted the attention of Lui Fei and Shen Cai.

Lui Fei rode his Griffin over, took out a Saddle from his Inventory and gave it to Lu Fan, saying, “This is the Griffin Legion’s special Saddle. You can try equipping it first and see how it feels to ride on your Pet Dragon.”

Lu Fan took the Griffin Legion Special Saddle and looked at it.

Griffin Legion Special Saddle (Pet Equipment)
Requirements: Pet has reached Maturing Period

Additional Trait: After use, Pet enters ‘Rideable’ state. When riding, the owner additionally enjoys 20% of the Pet’s Attributes.

This equipment was worse than what Lu Fan had expected. Lu Fan actually had a Dragon Saddle, and he took this Griffin Legion Special Saddle just to see how this type of Pet Equipment’s Attributes differed.

As a result, after one look, Lu Fan could see the power of the Dragon Saddle.

When riding a Mount equipped with the Dragon Saddle, the Player could add and share Attributes with the Mount.

Basically, the Knight and Mount would become one, with Attributes mutually nourishing each other. Lu Fan and Xiao Ye could both utilise each other’s power.

This Griffin Legion Special Saddle only provided 20% of the Pet’s Attributes, 80% less compared to the Dragon Saddle.

Not only that, the Dragon Saddle could also allow Lu Fan’s attacks to carry Dragon Qi, evolving his attacks into Range Attacks.

The Griffin Legion Special Saddle did not have this Special Effect. So compared to the Dragon Saddle, this Griffin Legion Special Saddle was simply trash. Moreover, seeing this Griffin Legion Special Saddle, Xiao Ye behind Lu Fan also expressed strong dissatisfaction.

She did not mind Lu Fan riding her, but she minded being equipped with such a crudely made thing.

Lu Fan smiled and returned the Griffin Legion Special Saddle to Lui Fei.

Lui Fei was stunned. Holding the Saddle, she asked, “What’s wrong, you don’t need this Pet Equipment? To ride a Mount, a Saddle Type Special Equipment is essential.”

Lu Fan smiled and said to Lui Fei, “No need, Brother Lui. Actually, I’ve already prepared a Saddle myself.”

“You already have a Saddle?” Lui Fei was stunned, then said, “Even if you do, you should still use mine. The Griffin Legion Special Saddle is specially made for the Griffin Legion. It’s said to be personally forged by a weapon forging Master raised by our Dragon Country, and the Crafting Recipe cost a fortune to buy from Star Strip Country.”

“Knights from other units can’t even get access to this Griffin Legion Special Saddle. After all, Saddles that can increase a Knight’s Pet Attributes by 20% is quite rare. This Saddle definitely counts as top quality equipment. Usually, this kind of military-grade equipment can’t be circulated outside, but you’re now considered a member of the Griffin Legion. This Saddle happens to be my spare, so it’s fine to give it to you.”

Lui Fei thought Lu Fan was just too embarrassed to accept this top quality Saddle, which was why he refused. After all, the Attributes of the Griffin Legion Special Saddle would easily surpass most Saddle Type Pet Equipment circulating in the market.

Little did he know, Lu Fan refused simply because this Saddle did not meet his standards.

Lu Fan smiled and took out his own Dragon Saddle, saying, “The Saddle I prepared is a bit better than the Griffin Legion Special Saddle.”

“Better than the Griffin Legion Special Saddle?” Lui Fei and the others became interested, looking at the Dragon Saddle in Lu Fan’s hand.

Just looking at the equipment’s appearance, the Dragon Saddle was incomparably more exquisite than the Griffin Legion Special Saddle. Whether in design or pattern, its extraordinary nature was evident.

In comparison, the Griffin Legion Special Saddle, which could be called top quality Saddle, seemed like a mass-produced product from an assembly line.

Lu Fan was not stingy and made the Attributes of the Dragon Saddle public for everyone to see.

After looking, Lui Fei and the others all drew in a sharp breath.

[We were enjoying all of our Pet’s Attribute Bonus?]

[Normal attacks can even use Dragon Qi, able to cause Range Damage!]

[What the… what kind of divine Pet Equipment is this!?]

[With such a Pet Equipment, even if the Knight is useless, as long as he has a good Mount, he could dominate the battlefield!]

Even Lui Fei and the other two could see how amazing this Saddle was.

Originally, the Griffin Legion Special Saddle was considered top quality equipment. However, when compared to the Dragon Saddle, it was completely trash! No, even worse than trash!

Lui Fei thought about how he had just taken out the Griffin Legion Special Saddle for Lu Fan to equip, and his face immediately flushed red with embarrassment. [Wasn’t that not like offering a pancake to a billionaire, saying ‘You’ve never had anything this good, right? Come and try’.]

Lu Changkong was even more straightforward, wiping the drool that had flowed out and exclaiming, “Brother Lu, how do you always manage to broaden our horizons? This Saddle of yours can’t even be described with the words ‘top quality’… it can only be described as ‘overpowered’!”

Lu Fan laughed upon hearing this and said, “Are the Attributes of this equipment really that powerful? I don’t really understand Saddle Type Pet Equipment too well…”

“Of course it is!” Lu Changkong nodded and said, “Generally, Saddles just give the Pet a ‘Rideable’ state, and if it can provide a 10% Attribute Bonus to the Master, that’s already not bad. As for our Griffin Legion Special Saddle, being able to provide 20% of the Pet’s Attributes is definitely considered top quality. That’s why the Griffin Legion Special Saddle is a supply restricted equipment, strictly prohibited from leaving the Griffin Legion.”

“Your Saddle is even better. I wouldn’t dare to dream of this even in my sleep! If I could have a Dragon Saddle like yours, enjoying all the Attributes of my Griffin, even Old Lui wouldn’t be my match.”

Shen Cai glanced at him and said pointedly, “This Dragon Saddle can only be equipped on Pets with Dragon Bloodline. Does your Griffin have Dragon Bloodline?”

“Oh yeah. I can’t even use this equipment if you gave it to me!” Lu Changkong spread his hands, laughing wryly, “I can only say, no matter what it is, as long as it’s related to Dragons, the Attributes immediately become overpowered.”

Lu Fan chuckled. This was truly the first time he understood Saddles. Originally, he thought that among the rewards from the Flying Dragon Cemetery, this Dragon Saddle should be the least valuable item out of the three. He did not expect that it would turn out to be the most overpowered.

Lui Fei quietly put away the Griffin Legion Special Saddle, coughed lightly to ease his embarrassment, then said, “Lu Fan, since you have a Saddle, equip it on your Pet Dragon and try going for a ride on her. The three of us will be having the honour of witnessing the birth of the world’s first Dragon Knight.”

The other two nodded repeatedly.

Lu Fan also had this intention. He had long wanted to try riding Xiao Ye to see what it felt like to be a Dragon Knight.

Lu Fan equipped the Dragon Saddle on Xiao Ye. Instantly, a seat appeared on Xiao Ye’s back, and Xiao Ye’s state changed to ‘Rideable’.

Xiao Ye was also very obedient, knowing what Lu Fan wanted to do. She slightly lowered her body, allowing Lu Fan to easily fly onto her back, entering the Riding State.

Suddenly, Lu Fan felt that Bloodline Sharing with Xiao Ye had become even stronger. Under the effect of the Dragon Saddle, man and Dragon seemed to truly become one.

Waves of immense power surged into Lu Fan’s body, giving him a completely new experience. Lu Fan felt that with a casual wave of his hand, it would unleash world-destroying power.

Looking at the Attribute Panel again, sure enough, both Lu Fan and Xiao Ye’s Attributes had simultaneously changed.

Man and Dragon’s Attributes were not exactly the same. Nevertheless, they used the sum of both their Attributes.

In other words, Lu Fan now fully gained Xiao Ye’s power, with all Four Attributes easily breaking past 10,000!
