Chapter 176, Blood Moon of the Far North

If Jin Zhu was in her usual state, she would have cursed back at anyone who dared speak to her like that.  However, Tu Jing was different from ‘anyone’. Even though she was filled with rage, she dared not say a single word more in front of Tu Jing.

She sensed that while he might not kill Jin Chenghan, if she said too much, that may no longer be the case. She could tell this man was no different from a Human butcher…

Jin Chenghan was wiser than Jin Zhu, and naturally did not dare to talk back to Tu Jing. He struggled to get up, no longer showing his previous sharp attitude, and nodded. “I understand… I’ll leave now, and depart from Dragon Country.”

As he spoke, Jin Chenghan waved his hand, and the Abyssal Crawler captured by the Arctic Griffin King was recalled into a Summoning Array.

Tu Jing nodded, and pointed at Jin Zhu. “Take that girl with you too. I really don’t like you two Siblings. Don’t defile my country anymore. As I said before, if the Little Princess from your country dares to cause trouble again, she would be deported back. Now that she has crossed the line, if you don’t take her with you when you leave, I’ll have someone ‘send’ her back.”

Jin Chenghan was livid but he dared not speak out. He nodded and said. “Understood. I’ll take my Little Sister back to Extremistis Country with me.”

“Jin Zhu, let’s go!” As he spoke, Jin Chenghan grabbed Jin Zhu’s wrist, afraid that his Little Sister might say something in anger to provoke Tu Jing further.

Chen Tianzhi had remained silent the whole time. He looked at Tu Jing, then at Jin Zhu, and finally followed behind Jin Zhu.

However, after walking a few steps, Jin Chenghan stopped again. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and looked at Lu Fan. “Kid, I’ll remember you. In Dragon Country, you have someone backing you up, so whatever. But the debt between us, plus what you owe my Little Sister, we’ll settle it in the National Trial Secret Realm! When the time comes, you better pray you don’t run into me!”

After saying this, he limped away with Jin Zhu and Chen Tianzhi, gradually disappearing into the distance.

Lu Fan watched the three flee in such a pathetic state and laughed: “Jin Chenghan is really funny. He clearly kicked an iron plate and got beaten so badly, yet he still has the face to make threats before leaving. Does he really think he’s my match in a fight?”

Tu Jing recalled the Arctic Griffin King, his mood gradually calming down. He turned and waved at Lu Fan. “For some reason, that’s how most people from Extremistis Country are. Maybe it’s their culture? Even when they’re dead, their mouths are still tough. I’ve dealt with many people from numerous countries before. Even so, I dislike those from Extremistis Country the most.”

As he spoke, Tu Jing had already come to Lu Fan’s side. He patted Lu Fan’s shoulder and led him back into the villa. He spoke as they walked. “But anyway, you’ve made an enemy of Jin Chenghan now. He’ll definitely target you in the National Trial Secret Realm. Although he ended up in a pathetic state today, being called Extremistis Country’s number one prodigy means he does have some skills. If you really run into him, don’t be careless.”

Lu Fan nodded. “Don’t worry, Senior Tu, I know.”

Tu Jing said. “Good! Kid, I believe you won’t capsize in a gutter because of overconfidence. When we get back to the Far North, I’ll tell you about the representatives from the other countries one by one. That way, you can best prepare before entering the National Trial Secret Realm…”

As they talked, they had already entered the villa.

As Lu Fan had expected, Han Ke and Tao Zi had already returned.

When they learned that Lu Fan was about to leave, both were greatly taken aback, especially Han Ke, who had never been apart from Lu Fan for long. She had almost burst into tears.

However, Lu Fan was only leaving for less than a month, so Han Ke was not so weak as to cry on the spot. She held back tears and forced a smile, saying she wanted to give Lu Fan a farewell dinner, and also welcome Tu Jing. She swore would make a huge table of dishes today, and then dove into the kitchen.

In the end, Han Ke did make numerous dishes, and her exquisite cooking skills won endless praise from Tu Jing.

Around 2, they finally finished the meal. Han Ke packed a simple luggage for Lu Fan, and then reluctantly said goodbye to him.

Not just Han Ke, but Jian Ying, Qin Qiu, and Tao Xiaoman were all a bit sad. They had been eating and living together these days, and even ran Dungeon Instances together. They had grown close. Suddenly having one person missing, it was hard for them to adjust to the change.

In the end, the three girls each gave Lu Fan a hug, as their final farewell.

Seeing that it was getting late, and Lu Fan had already said goodbye to everyone, Tu Jing crushed the Transfer Stone to the Far North.

Immediately, a Transport Array spewing out cold air formed. Tu Jing chuckled, patted Lu Fan’s shoulder, and led him into it together.

Lu Fan followed behind Tu Jing. After passing through the Transport Array, he immediately shivered from the cold.

Fortunately, his Crimson Cloak of Flame and Frost could negate some of the Frostbite Damage. Otherwise, this bone-chilling cold would be hard to endure.

It was really hard to imagine that Tu Jing had led people to be station in such a harsh place for over a year.

Lu Fan looked around and found himself in a simple military camp.

Outside the camp, countless irregularly shaped boulders were piled in a circle, forming a defensive fortification that could make this camp like a fortress to resist Monsters, as well as to block out the wind and snow.

Inside the stone walls were many simple buildings. As for what functions these buildings had, Lu Fan was not clear yet and needed Tu Jing to introduce them.

Because this place had polar nights, the light was very weak. When looking up towards the distance, one could still see that within hundreds of kilometres around the camp, as far as the eye could see, everything was pure white.

Around them, apart from occasional Human voices coming from the lit buildings, there was only the howling of the wind.

The cold wind blowing across Lu Fan’s face made him feel a slight pain. Fortunately, Lu Fan’s Endurance Attribute was high enough. If it were an ordinary Mage coming here, their face would probably be chapped by now.

Tu Jing looked back at Lu Fan and heartily laughed. “How is it? The environment here is a bit harsh, can you get used to it?”

Lu Fan nodded: “No problem, my Endurance Attribute is quite high.”

“Alright then. First, follow me around camp. I’ll familiarise you with the situation here. Tomorrow, I’ll arrange some missions for you. Let you go out with the other Fellow Brothers to further parts of the Far North.”

“Okay.” Lu Fan nodded and followed behind Tu Jing.

They had just walked a few steps when Lu Fan noticed a blood-red Moon hanging on the horizon in the icy snow ahead. It was reflected against the dark night, stars, and pure white snow. Together, it created a beautiful scene.

Lu Fan was amazed and wanted to take out his phone to take a picture, so he could show it to his Auntie and friends but as soon as he took out his phone, Lu Fan found it had automatically shut down.

Thinking about it, it made sense. The temperature here was as low as minus 50-60 degrees Celsius. Even Players with low Endurance would not be able to withstand it, let alone his poor phone.

Lu Fan could only put his phone back into his pocket.

However, Tu Jing noticed Lu Fan’s action. As they walked, he grinned and said. “What? Think the scenery of the Far North is quite nice?”

Lu Fan nodded and smiled. “Yeah, although it’s cold, you really can’t see this silver northern landscape anywhere else.”

Tu Jing added. “That’s only when there’s no wind and snow. When the weather is calm, the scenery is indeed praiseworthy. But, if we encounter any harsh weather, even my Griffin Legion has to take shelter. They dare not go out. Well, you’ll be staying here for a month. I believe you’ll encounter what it’s like. I just hope you won’t complain when the time comes.”

“Haha, I won’t.” Lu Fan smiled, then looked at the Red Moon on the horizon again and casually asked. “Senior Tu, is the Moon in the Far North always this colour? It’s amazing. I’ve never seen a Blood Moon in Jianghai City or Dragon Capital.”

“Moon?” Tu Jing stopped walking and turned back, looking at Lu Fan with an interesting expression.

Lu Fan was stunned and asked in confusion. “What’s wrong, Senior Tu, did I say something wrong?”

Tu Jing shook his head with a smile and pointed behind Lu Fan.

Lu Fan looked back and immediately saw a bright, pure Moon in the sky behind him.

“This… how are there two Moons here!?” Lu Fan was shocked. The situation in the Far North seemed much more complex than he had imagined…

Tu Jing took a deep breath, looked at the Blood Moon on the distant horizon, and said in a very serious tone. “The reason I’ve stayed in the Far North is because of the existence of ‘that thing’.”

“You should rest today. Tomorrow, I’ll take you there to have a closer look at ‘that thing’.”

After a pause, Tu Jing smiled. “Perhaps, something extraordinary will appear in the future, and you will be the strongest line of defence for our Dragon Country. In fact, for all of Humanity!”

Tu Jing’s words made Lu Fan feel an ominous premonition. He narrowed his eyes and looked carefully at that Blood Moon, vaguely seeming to see something.

Suddenly, after realising what he saw, Lu Fan felt all the blood in his body freeze.

[What… what in the world is ‘that thing’!?] Lu Fan originally felt that although the cold wind of the Far North was chilling, he could still endure it. But now, he felt an icy coldness creeping into his body.

This feeling only eased when Tu Jing patted him on the shoulder.

Tu Jing chuckled at Lu Fan and advised. “Alright, it just looks scary, but you’ll get used to it after a while. Don’t think too much about it today. Tomorrow I’ll personally take you to see the true face of ‘that thing’.”

Lu Fan looked at Tu Jing and nodded. However, Lu Fan’s gaze remained fixed on the Blood Moon, unable to look away.
