Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 159, All Hidden Professions

Translator: Silavin

A week quickly passed. During this time, Lu Fan’s life had not changed much from before. He still spent each day clearing Dungeon Instances with his team to Level Up, or go to the VIP Arena to spar with the Senior Sister.

However, the Senior Sister seemed to be quite busy recently. Sometimes, Lu Fan would wait an entire afternoon at the VIP Arena without seeing her.

With no other choice, Lu Fan could only use his time at the VIP Arena to battle with Xiao Ye, which also served to improve his own strength.

Although his interactions with the Senior Sister had noticeably decreased, Lu Fan’s progress in Levelling Up was still decent.

He plans on raising his and his Pet Dragons’ Levels as much as possible before the National Trial begins. Especially Xing Chen and Xiao Ye. If he could get Xiao Ye to reach her Maturing Period before the start of the National Trial, he would be able to equip her with the Dragon Saddle. At that time, he would truly be a Silver Dragon Rider, able to bring out more powerful characteristics of his Profession in their Riding Form.

At the same time, if Xing Chen could enter the Growth Period like the other two Dragons and gain other Forms, it would also be a qualitative improvement in their Combat Power.

With all three Pet Dragons together, even if the National Trial was full of powerful Players, how many people could stop three Pet Dragons in their Growth Period?

With this in mind, Lu Fan became even more diligent in Levelling Up than before.

His diligence paid off. He had already reached Level 32, Xiao Ye had reached Level 29, and Xiao Cui was at Level 22. As for Xing Chen, she was only at Level 11.

There was no helping it. After Lu Fan’s Second Profession Change, his Levelling speed had slowed down. Moreover, he had many Pet Dragons, so the Experience Points gained was being divided among them. Even with his Accelerated Growth Aura being at LV4, and increasing his Pet Dragons’ Experience Point Gain by four times, the amount of Experience Points required for his Pet Dragons to Level Up was like a bottomless pit. Now that it was being divided among one Human and three Dragons, even in the Poison Spider Forest Dungeon Instance, Xing Chen’s Levelling speed was very slow and hard to increase.

However, Lu Fan estimated that based on the time, by the time the National Trial officially starts, Xing Chen should be able to reach Level 15.

As long as Xing Chen’s growth cycle was not longer than Xiao Cui, and she enters her Growth Period by Level 15, she would be fully prepared to take on the National Trial.

Driven by Lu Fan, not only had he and his Pet Dragons’ Levels increased, but so had those of his teammates.

A week ago, Jian Ying had already reached Level 30 and successfully underwent her Second Profession Change at the Profession Change Hall. According to her, her Sword Tamer Profession had four branches in total. In the end, she chose to become a Sword Dancer.

The Sword Dancer Second Profession focused on using flying swords to kill enemies, dealing high damage, which was very similar to Jian Ying’s usual fighting style.

After Jian Ying’s Second Profession Change, her Profession Characteristics did not change by much. However, she had more ways of killing enemies with flying swords, and her Skill Power also became stronger.

After Jian Ying’s Second Profession Change, Tao Xiaoman and Qin Qiu were next to reach Level 30. They had done so today, meeting the conditions for their Second Profession Change.

So, after completing a Dungeon Instance run, Lu Fan and the others once again came to the Profession Change Hall to wait for those two to undergo their Second Profession Change.

Qin Qiu came out first. After her Second Profession Change, the sacred aura around her became even more intense. At the same time, behind her, light seemed to gather faintly, forming two interwoven swords made of light.

This unusual phenomenon greatly surprised everyone. Qin Qiu smiled and explained that during her Second Profession Change, she encountered three branches. Based on their Profession Characteristics, they could be divided into pure attack, pure support, and a balance of attack and defence like before.

Qin Qiu considered for a while and felt that her Damage Output was severely lacking. As for healing and support, with Xiao Cui around, her small amount of healing was not needed at all. Thus, Qin Qiu simply chose the pure attack route and changed her Profession to Inquisitor.

This Profession maximised the destructive power of Light Element Magic. Now, Qin Qiu’s attacks were far stronger than those of ordinary Mages.

After a while, Tao Xiaoman also rushed out. She immediately exclaimed. “This is amazing! Guess what Second Profession I chose!?”

Everyone’s attention was drawn to her as they carefully examined her.

Tao Xiaoman did not have a Hidden Profession. As a Swordsman, her Profession Change branches were limited to War God and Sword Saint. She had also expressed multiple times that War God was too rough sounding for her, so she would never choose it. Therefore, she was most likely to choose Sword Saint as her Second Profession.

However, since she was so excited, it meant that the situation was definitely not as simple as it seemed.

Jian Ying hit the nail on the head and asked, “Did you encounter a hidden branch during your Second Profession Change?”

“That’s right!” Tao Xiaoman’s face was glowing with pride as she drew out her sword. “Finally! Everyone in our team has a Hidden Profession!”

As she spoke, she swung her sword. Immediately azure water splashed from the blade. Wherever the blade passed, water droplets lingered in the air for a good while before dissipating.

Tao Xiaoman soon sheathed her sword and proudly said: “Now, I’m a Water Sword God. I can manipulate Water Element Magic and my attacks now carry additional Magic Damage. It’s a type of Magic Swordsman.”

If Tao Xiaoman had a tail, it would definitely be pointing to the sky right now.

“It looks like I’m not necessarily worse than you guys!” Tao Xiaoman felt completely vindicated. After all, being in a group of powerful Hidden Profession Players, even if she always kept up a good attitude about it, it was hard to not feel out of place. But now, she was a perfect fit to the team.

“Although I didn’t have a Hidden Profession for my First Profession, I encountered a hidden branch for my Second. The probability is even lower than getting a Hidden Profession from the start! Seems like my talent is also extraordinary, I just needed time to show it! From now on when we clear Dungeon Instances, watch me take down Silver Armoured Spiders one by one!”

Seeing Tao Xiaoman so full of vigour, Lu Fan pondered for a while before saying. “Tao Zi, have you considered the reason you triggered a hidden branch and became a Water Sword God might be related to how you always slack off in the team?”

These words immediately made everyone burst into laughter.

Tao Xiaoman was so angry she wanted to immediately PvP with Lu Fan to show him her amazing Skills.

Lu Fan was just about to accept the challenge and spar with her when his phone suddenly rang.

Lu Fan took it out and saw it was from Zhao Shengming.

Lu Fan had indeed exchanged contact information with Zhao Shengming before, but the Vice Principal had never contacted him. Now that he had suddenly called, it was probably something urgent.

Lu Fan answered the phone. Zhao Shengming on the other end was as concise as ever. “Come to the reception hall. The Special Envoy responsible for assessing you is about to arrive at our University.”

[Ruan Changfeng is here?] Lu Fan calculated and found that the date matches up. [There is only about a month left until the National Trial starts. So, it is reasonable for Ruan Changfeng to come and assess how strong I am.]

Lu Fan responded. “Alright, I understand. I’ll head over right away.”

After saying this, he ended the call.

Lu Fan informed everyone of the situation, then said goodbye to them and headed towards the University’s reception hall.

Meanwhile, at the door of the principal’s office, after hanging up the phone, Zhao Shengming put it away, then said to the office door. “I’ve already notified Lu Fan to come over.”

From inside, that peculiarly ethereal voice sounded out. “In that case, let’s set out and wait for them at the reception hall. Although I don’t think much of Ruan Changfeng’s character, he is still a Special Envoy. We can’t skimp out on proper etiquette. Otherwise, it would make Dragon Capital University look uncouth.”

Zhao Shengming nodded and agreed. “Yes, several leaders of the University are already waiting outside. Shall we depart now?”

“Okay.” The person inside responded and the door opened up.

*Whoosh~* The sound of burning flames immediately came from inside, and a burst of fire illuminated the place.

A person wearing a milk-white Mage Robe, holding a burning staff slowly walked out from inside. Immediately, the air became unbearably hot from the staff in this person’s hand. This person was not particularly tall, and the loose Mage Robe covering this person’s entire body made it impossible to see this person’s build.

At the same time, the hood of the robe completely covered the head, and some kind of Skill had been casted underneath the hood. No matter from which angle one looked, they could only see a blurry image of a face.

Moreover, this person’s voice had always been very strange. Even after walking out of the office, it was impossible to judge this person’s age, gender, Profession, or Level. It was only solely from judging what this person had on, one could guess that this person was likely of a Mage Type Profession.

Zhao Shengming had some understanding of the principal and did not find the principal’s attire to be strange at all. He just lowered his head and followed behind the principal to meet with the other University leaders and prepare to receive the Special Envoy.

At this time, Lu Fan had already arrived at the reception hall, ahead of time. Here, some faculty members were doing simple decorations. When Ruan Changfeng arrived, they would first bring him here, conduct a simple welcome ceremony, and then have Lu Fan come out to accept Ruan Changfeng’s examination.

The beautiful teacher, Gu Han, was also among these faculty members. Seeing Lu Fan arrive, she called him over and took him to a lounge on the second floor.

Gu Han said that Vice Principal Zhao had instructed her to let Lu Fan rest here temporarily. In a while, those University leaders would first receive the Special Envoy. After the reception was done, they would then have him come out.

Lu Fan had no objections to this and stayed there quietly.

At the same time, Lu Fan discovered that from the lounge, he could see the scene downstairs.

The preparations downstairs were quickly completed. It was very simple, without being too luxurious. Even though the visitor was a Special Envoy, Dragon Capital University was merely showing basic hospitality with this simple welcome ceremony.

After the preparations were done, the University leaders soon arrived. The last to arrive were Zhao Shengming and several vice principals.

Among them, Lu Fan also saw the strange principal, who was wearing a Mage Robe.

At the time, Lu Fan did not know that this was the principal of Dragon Capital University. However, that was not the case for the staff in this person’s hand. He immediately recognised it as the staff that had been in first place on the Prosperous Heaven Auction House’s Treasure Catalogue for many years, Heaven Incinerator.

Silavin: Interesting. So, the ‘principal’ is something like a >Level 80 battle mage. And those below in the comment section, I know you know, I know god knows. No need to write it out okay?
