Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 182, My First Profession was Dragon Tamer

Translator: Silavin

This bow might not be well-known to those who had just joined the Griffin Legion. However, Lui Fei had followed Tu Jing for a long time. How could he not know that this was the cavalry bow Tu Jing once used – Underworld Serpent’s Cry.

Back then, Tu Jing had aimed Underworld Serpent’s Cry at the head of the South Country’s King. He had intimidated thousands of elite royal guards into immobility by doing that.

Underworld Serpent’s Cry had basically become Tu Jing’s signature weapon. Whenever this bow appeared in any country Tu Jing had visited before, it would cause panic in these countries, reminding them of the fear of being suppressed by Tu Jing.

Yet now, such a bow has appeared in Lu Fan’s hands!

Tu Jing had even given such a precious piece of equipment to Lu Fan, clearly indicating that Lu Fan’s status and position were much higher than everyone had thought!

Lu Fan was quite pleased to see that his first shot had accurately hit the Ice Throw.

He seemed to have quite a talent for archery. If he had not Changed Profession to Dragon Tamer, he might have become an Archer instead.

Lu Fan had just used Underworld Serpent’s Cry’s Summon Divine Arrow, designating Baby Dragon’s Lava Blaze as its Enchantment Trait for the Underworld Serpent’s Cry.

Therefore, the arrow shot from Underworld Serpent’s Cry was a ball of fire. Combined with Lu Fan’s enormous Strength Attribute, this arrow’s Attack Power was explosive, directly negating even the Skill of a Level 80 Elite Monster.

After Lu Fan shattered the Ice Throw with one arrow, leaving Lui Fei and others dumbfounded, Lu Fan reminded, “Brother Lui, keep charging forward, don’t get distracted!”

Lui Fei immediately snapped back to reality, realising this was not the time to be amazed. He quickly spurred his Griffin to continue breaking through.

At this moment, the Ice Plain Yetis launched another volley of Ice Throw. Due to the close distance, this wave of Skills left almost no time to react.

Lui Fei wanted to use a Skill to block the Ice Throw, but Lu Fan acted much faster than him.

Behind Lui Fei, Underworld Serpent’s Cry’s Additional Skill, Serpents Swarm the Sky, activated.

Lu Fan’s eyes narrowed slightly as his right hand repeatedly drew the bowstring, moving so fast only a blur remained.

In an instant, twelve flaming arrows formed and were shot by Lu Fan, creating a rain of arrows that enveloped the three Ice Throw blocks.

*Boom-* A tremendous sound erupted as fire collided with ice blocks, creating large clouds of steam as the Skills cancelled each other out.

“Damn, Brother Lu, you’re amazing! I never thought you’d be this strong!” Lu Changkong exclaimed in shock, involuntarily blurting out his thoughts. After all, who could have imagined that the Skill bombardment even Lui Fei could not block would be so easily neutralised by Lu Fan?

Although Lu Fan’s Level was low, he was no weaker than anyone present. In fact, he might be even stronger than anyone else!

Lu Fan smiled without responding.

At this moment.

*Whoosh!* Lui Fei rode his Griffin out of the steam, instantly charging towards an Ice Plain Yeti.

Before the opponent could react, he thrust his spear forward with another Spear of Victory, sending the enemy flying.

This Ice Plain Yeti was tough-skinned and thick-fleshed. Facing a Third Profession Divine Punishment Knight known for being High Damage Dealers, it was not killed in one hit, but was severely injured with a huge hole in its body.

However, being in a Fallen Corpse Puppet state, its blood seemed to have frozen long ago and did not flow out, appearing very eerie.

After repelling one Ice Plain Yeti, Lui Fei did not take the chance to escape but turned back to attack another Ice Plain Yeti.

At the same time, Shen Cai, who was also amazed by Lu Fan’s strength but had not spoken, acted in perfect coordination. She summoned three Pet Eagles, making them circle in the air while releasing various Element Magic Skills to engage another Ice Plain Yeti.

Working together, they indeed tore open a gap.

Lu Fan, Shen Cai, and Lu Changkong, who were closely following Lui Fei, flew out of the Ice Plain Yetis’ encirclement. As long as they were careful not to be hit by Ice Throw, escaping would not be a problem.

Everyone secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Lui Fei used his Skills, trying to quickly repel the Ice Plain Yeti he was fighting so he could escape with the others.

However, at this moment, he saw that the Ice Plain Yetis blocking their way in the distance had started grabbing snow, preparing to release their Skills.

Although they had broken out of the encirclement, the other Ice Plain Yetis had approached, putting Lui Fei within range of their Ice Throw attacks.

Because Lui Fei had to cover the rear, he was slightly behind, instantly becoming the target of the other Ice Plain Yetis’ concentrated fire.

With so many ice blocks about to hit him, it would be hard for Lui Fei to dodge.

Lui Fei’s heart sank. He gave up on the idea of escaping with the others and instead turned to take out his shield while shouting, “Lu Changkong, do you have any Skills left? Quickly cast them on me!”

Lu Changkong looked back to see Lui Fei entangled and became anxious, saying, “No good! My Holy Light Shield still can’t be used!”

“Then there’s no choice, you guys go first!” Lui Fei was very resolute, seemingly ready to physically withstand this wave of Skills.

Seeing this, Lu Changkong and Shen Cai nearly bit through their teeth.

At this point, the Ice Plain Yetis had released their Skills, with over a dozen ice blocks flying through the air, directly targeting Lui Fei.

Faced with such a desperate situation, Shen Cai grasped at straws and turned to Lu Fan, asking urgently, “Can you save Lui Fei? Your arrows seem to be able to break the Ice Plain Yetis’ Ice Throw, maybe you could cover him so he can retreat!”

Although she had asked, Shen Cai realised in the next second that she must have gone crazy. [Wait. I’m actually hoping a Level 32 Player can save Lui Fei!?]

Lu Fan was very powerful, and he could easily break the Ice Throw of three Ice Plain Yetis. But now, there were over a dozen Skills hurtling towards Lui Fei!

No matter how amazing Lu Fan was, could he block the Skills of more than a dozen Level 80 Elite Monsters with just a bow and arrow?

Perhaps only a Fourth Profession Archer, Demonic Feather, might potentially have the Skills to counter this.

However, to Shen Cai’s great surprise, Lu Fan’s face showed no sign of panic, only a faint smile as he said. “Of course I can save Brother Lui. You and Brother Lu wait here for me, I’ll go kill all these Monsters.”

With that, Lu Fan actually turned back, flying towards Lui Fei while creating a Summoning Array with his hand.

Shen Cai and Lu Changkong were stunned, then became anxious.

They had managed to protect Lu Fan and get him out with such difficulty, yet he was charging back in!

The two wanted to intercept Lu Fan and bring him back, but what happened in the next second made both of them freeze in place, dumbfounded.

They saw the Summoning Array Lu Fan had drawn take shape, then suddenly expand, hovering in mid-air. It was clearly about to release some enormous beast.

Before the Summon could reveal its true form, the dozen or so Ice Throw Skills were about to engulf Lui Fei.

However, a stream of fire mixed with lava suddenly erupted from the Summoning Array, gushing out like a volcanic eruption, passing over Lui Fei’s head to collide with the Ice Throws.

Instantly, steam filled the air/ The scene was even more spectacular than when Lu Fan had acted earlier.

Faced with the power of Lava Blaze, Ice Throw was like child’s play.

The huge ice blocks were instantly melted by the fire. This blast of Lava Blaze swept across the sky, engulfing the two Ice Plain Yetis beside Lui Fei.

Immediately, the two Ice Plain Yetis howled in agony. Within just two seconds, their cries abruptly ceased. It was only then did the Lava Blaze stop.

The sudden appearance of scorching magma and fire not only broke the Ice Plain Yetis’ Skills but also instantly killed two Monsters.

It left Lui Fei dumbfounded. He looked back towards where the fire had appeared and saw a scene he would never forget.

In mid-air, the huge Summoning Array had fully formed.

A massive pitch-black creature, flickering with fire, emerged from it, its pressure overwhelming.

[This… this is a Dragon!?] Lui Fei had never seen a real Dragon before. However, the moment he saw it, he knew this was undoubtedly a Pure Blood Giant Dragon!

At this moment, fire was still spewing from Dragon’s mouth and nose, proving that she was the one who had just saved Lui Fei and instantly killed the Ice Plain Yetis.

The Dragon that emerged from the Summoning Array clearly disliking this icy environment. Because of this, her expression was somewhat frenzied, as if scolding, ‘I’ll kill anyone who dares provoke me now!’

At the same time, the Dragon’s scorching body in this icy environment was like a hot iron thrown into a pile of snow, constantly emitting steam, making her look even more like a world destroying diabolical Dragon. Her aura was terrifying.

Lui Fei felt so small in front of this Black Dragon. As strong as he was, he could not help but tremble for a moment. Even the Griffin between his legs was shaking in fear, almost unable to fly.

Why would a Dragon appear in this place?

But, judging by its size, this might only be a Baby Dragon. Lui Fei clearly understood that such a Godlike being, even if not fully grown, could easily instantly kill him.

After all, were those Ice Plain Yetis just now not a vivid example?

Not only were they surrounded by Ice Plain Yetis in such an isolated place, but they even encountered a Dragon! While Lui Fei was shocked to see the Black Dragon, he also completely gave up his last hope of survival.

But then, he suddenly realised that this Black Dragon was not a Monster from the Far North, but had emerged from a Summoning Array.

[Is it someone’s Pet!?] Lui Fei thought of this and suddenly shuddered all over. Because he remembered what Lu Fan had said earlier, ‘My Profession is Silver Dragon Rider.’

[Silver Dragon Rider… Could it be that he is actually a Dragon Knight!?]

Just as Lui Fei felt his worldview was about to collapse, he suddenly felt a blur before his eyes, and a figure appeared beside him.

Lu Fan smiled faintly and asked Lui Fei, “Brother Lui, are you alright?”

“No…” Lui Fei answered instinctively, then came to his senses.

He looked at the Black Dragon in the sky, then at Lu Fan, and pointed at the Black Dragon in disbelief, asking, “Lu Fan, this Dragon, it isn’t your Pet, right!?”

“It’s my Pet Dragon.” Lu Fan calmly replied. “My Second Profession is Silver Dragon Rider, which you might not have heard of. But you should know about my First Profession. My First Profession was Dragon Tamer.”
