Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 164, Educating Ruan Changfeng

Translator: Silavin

Facing Ruan Changfeng charging fiercely towards him, Lu Fan held his Black Dragon Scale Greatsword. However, he did nothing else. He only watched Ruan Changfeng without any intention of raising his greatsword to defend.

Seeing this, Ruan Changfeng was convinced that Lu Fan was just a novice. That he was just a lucky brat that had managed to obtain so many Pet Dragons.

Ruan Changfeng was convinced Lu Fan himself was useless, and that he could easily defeat him!

Ruan Changfeng would never show any mercy to Lu Fan. Thus, he directly unleashed Holy Light Judgment with all his might.

Holy light flickered on his greatsword, transforming into a greatsword made of condensed light that looked incredibly powerful.

This sword strike was aimed directly at Lu Fan’s shoulder.

However, just as Ruan Changfeng was about to wound Lu Fan, eighteen shields suddenly lit up around Lu Fan’s body!

This was Xiao Cui’s Skill, Jade Shield. After Levelling Up, most of Xiao Cui’s Skills had reached LV4, and Jade Shield could now provide nine shields. With Lu Fan enjoying double the Effect, the number of shields doubled to eighteen!

Ruan Changfeng’s strike only managed to break one of these shields.

Instantly, Ruan Changfeng’s eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets. [My almighty Skill had only broken one shield!? And that bastard still has seventeen more!? How the Hell am I suppose to deal with this!?]

Seeing Ruan Changfeng’s shocked expression, Lu Fan chuckled and stuck his Black Dragon Scale Greatsword into the ground. He now had a ‘come at me’ attitude.

Although these two were only two steps apart, Lu Fan had abandoned any attempt at defence, clearly showing his contempt.

This reignited the anger in Ruan Changfeng’s heart. He gritted his teeth and swung his greatsword again, once more shattering a Jade Shield around Lu Fan.

Not just Ruan Changfeng, but his Mount, the Demonic Bloodthirsty Bat, also joined in to attack. Its sharp fangs pierce through a shield each time it attacks.

Working together, they broke through Lu Fan’s Jade Shields one by one, making Ruan Changfeng seem to see the light of breaking through all the shields.

He had yet to realise that Lu Fan was just toying around.

The duration of Ruan Changfeng’s Holy Light Shield had already ended. At this moment, Ruan Changfeng had no Defensive Skills to rely on. Forget about Xiao Ye or Xing Chen, even the two Flying Dragon Kings in the sky could easily knock Ruan Changfeng down with a casual Five Elements Dragon Breath.

However, under Lu Fan’s command, all the Pet Dragons were not attacking Ruan Changfeng. Otherwise, would Ruan Changfeng have had the time to break through the Jade Shields?

Ruan Changfeng was now frantically attacking, not noticing this fact. He only wanted to break through the shields and then severely injure Lu Fan.

However, when he and his Demonic Bloodthirsty Bat had finally managed to reduce Lu Fan’s shields to just three, Xiao Cui, who was behind Lu Fan, raised her head. With a Dragon Roar, green light shone and instantly, Lu Fan’s Jade Shields was back to eighteen.

Seeing this, Ruan Changfeng felt his hands go weak. He nearly bursted out into curses.

[I was just about to break through all your shields, and you immediately replenish them!? Don’t your shields have a Cooldown!?]

As a matter of fact, Cooldowns for Skills was related to one’s’ Mana Attribute. For Xiao Cui, the Jade Shield Skill already had a short Cooldown. With her ridiculously High Mana Attribute, she could cast Jade Shield as if there was no cooldown.

In other words, facing an opponent like Ruan Changfeng, who took an extremely long time just to break through the shields, Lu Fan was essentially invincible. He did not even need to move. The opponent simply could not do anything to him.

Seeing Ruan Changfeng livid, Lu Fan could not help but laugh out loud.

Seeing the shields replenishing had made Ruan Changfeng almost give up. Thus, Lu Fan waved his hand and actively removed the Effect of Jade Shield.

Lu Fan lifted his Black Dragon Scale Greatsword. He lightly tapped his foot against the ground and his whole body shot like a cannonball towards Ruan Changfeng.

Because the distance between them was already so close, Lu Fan instantly smashed into Ruan Changfeng.

Lu Fan’s sudden removal of the shields and attack caught Ruan Changfeng off guard.

He immediately knew that Lu Fan was deliberately toying with him!

[So, if you wanted to win, you had ten thousand ways to do so, huh!? In fact, it seems like you are keeping all your Pet Dragons from attacking! Instead of sending them, you want to personally come to challenge me! Are you joking with me!? What do you take me for!?]

He, a Level 76 Holy Shield Knight, was actually being used as a tool to test the strength of a level 32 Second Profession Player. Who could stand this kind of treatment!?

Ruan Changfeng’s reaction was very quick. The moment Lu Fan struck with his sword, he raised his greatsword horizontally, meeting Lu Fan’s attack head-on.

Although he felt insulted and was enraged by it, Ruan Changfeng was secretly pleased as well. After all, Lu Fan had removed his shield to face him directly, giving him a chance to win. [As long as he does not have those shields, I can take him down!]

However, the instant their weapons clashed, Ruan Changfeng suddenly felt something was wrong!

An enormous force transmitted from his weapon, making him feel as if he had been hit head-on by a train. He simply could not match it!

Not only could Ruan Changfeng not withstand it, but his Demonic Bloodthirsty Bat Mount also could not take it.

This Monster was not known for its Strength Attribute to begin with. Thus, Lu Fan and Ruan Changfeng’s hard clash sent shock waves that were particularly hard for it to bear. Carrying Ruan Changfeng, it flew sideways for dozens of metres before stabilising.

After clashing swords with Lu Fan, Ruan Changfeng also felt his chest surge with blood.

He was shocked. His Strength Attribute was far from low. When facing a level 32 Player, he should have been the one to overwhelm him. Yet, in that direct clash, he had clearly lost in terms of Strength Attribute!

[Why is this bastard’s Strength Attribute so monstrous!?]

Little did Ruan Changfeng know, if he had come to Dragon Capital University a month earlier to assess Lu Fan, he might have been able to compete with Lu Fan in terms of Strength Attribute.

Ever since Lu Fan got Xing Chen, his Strength Attribute had skyrocketed. Now, although Xing Chen was only level 11, her Strength Attribute had reached an incredible 4068! Naturally, Lu Fan had received an extreme amount of Strength Attribute Boost from Xing Chen. It was to the point where even Ruan Changfeng was no match for him.

With just one sword strike, Lu Fan had forced Ruan Changfeng to retreat solely based on his overwhelming Strength Attribute.

Ruan Changfeng sat on his Sky Mount, panting heavily, with blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.

He looked at the two Flying Dragon Kings who did not continue to attack, and the three Giant Dragons behind Lu Fan who had barely made a move. A great sense of helplessness suddenly arose.

[How… How could I possibly fight against this… Forget about the Dragons, it seems like I am even having trouble dealing with Lu Fan, the Master of these Pet Dragons.] Ruan Changfeng knew he had really hit a wall this time.

Originally, he had wanted to teach Lu Fan a lesson by relying on his High Level. Instead, it was Lu Fan who had educated him in every way possible!

[If I don’t admit defeat now, am I going to wait to be hospitalised?] Ruan Changfeng had already concluded that this assessment could not continue. [If this goes on, I might really lose his life!]

“Stop-” Ruan Changfeng opened his mouth, but before he could finish saying ‘for a moment’, he suddenly felt a numbness overwhelm his body.

A chilling sensation came from the depths of his heart. He looked down and saw arcs of lightning appearing on Lu Fan’s body, forming a phantom manifestation of a huge Dragon above his head.

[This… isn’t this a Magic Skill!?] Instantly, Ruan Changfeng realised he was not safe in mid-air either!

Even if those Pet Dragons did not come to attack him, Lu Fan alone had the ability to attack airborne targets!

“Roar of the Blue Dragon King!” Lu Fan directly unleashed Dragon Language Magic. A huge lightning pool enveloped Ruan Changfeng, instantly submerging him inside.

Three seconds later, a charred Ruan Changfeng flew out of the lightning pool, with a faint holy light wrapping around both him and his Mount.

Clearly, he had used a Skill to reduce the damage taken, allowing him to safely escape from Lu Fan’s Skill.

However, just as Ruan Changfeng flew out of the lightning pool, his vision blurred, and he saw a figure appear before him.

At first, Ruan Changfeng thought it was one of Lu Fan’s Pet Dragons flying over to attack him, but when he looked closer, he saw that it was Lu Fan who was in front of him!

[H-How is he able to fly!?] Only then did Ruan Changfeng notice that Lu Fan had a pair of bone wings on his back. It was these bone wings that granted Lu Fan the ability to fly.

Ruan Changfeng did not even have time to see whether Lu Fan’s bone wings were an item or a Skill before Lu Fan unleashed Dragon Fang Strike.

Ruan Changfeng was in a desperate situation, only able to passively defend.

His hasty defence naturally could not block Lu Fan’s attack.

Instantly, Dragon Fang Strike came crashing down, knocking both Ruan Changfeng and his Mount out of the air.

After crashing to the ground, they naturally separated from their Riding Form. Ruan Changfeng rolled off the bat, while his Mount was writhing on the ground, screeching painfully, temporarily losing its ability to fly again. It was clearly severely injured.

At this moment, Xing Chen, who had been motionless all this time, wore a weary expression.

Unexpectedly, Lu Fan took the initiative to fly towards the Demonic Bloodthirsty Bat.

Ruan Changfeng struggled to get up from the ground. When he saw this scene, he immediately became anxious.

He knew that Lu Fan was going to kill his Sky Mount first, making him lose his ability to fly.

This Demonic Bloodthirsty Bat was an excellent Sky Mount that he had obtained with great effort. If it died, he really could not bear the loss!

Ruan Changfeng panicked. Completely disregarding his own safety, he directly cast Guardian Shield on his Mount.

Guardian Shield, also known as the mini Holy Light Shield, was a Second Profession Skill of Guardian Knights. It could be casted on oneself or on ones’ teammates to reduce 90% of incoming damage. Although it only lasted for three seconds, it could save lives in critical moments!

Ruan Changfeng hoped this Skill could save his Demonic Bloodthirsty Bat, giving him a chance to recall it. He was determined to protect his hard-earned Sky Mount at all costs.

Guardian Shield was cast on the Demonic Bloodthirsty Bat. But at this moment, Xing Chen had already flown above it and stomped down.
