Yandere Stream

The eye remained open.

Eden could no longer tell where it ended. There was no face surrounding it, no head, no body—only an enormous eye suspended above the white room. Its iris shifted slowly, almost thoughtfully, as though it were trying to focus on something impossibly distant. Yet despite its size, despite its impossible existence, Eden knew exactly what it was looking at.

It was looking at him.

The question still lingered between them.

Why did you look?

The simplicity of it bothered him.

After everything he had endured, after countless worlds, countless deaths, impossible revelations, Authors, Readers, forgotten stories, and broken realities, he had expected something greater. He had expected the final mystery to have a name. Some ancient creator. Some hidden force that had manipulated everything from the beginning.

Instead, he was standing beneath an enormous eye being asked why a frightened child had once looked through a door drawn on a piece of paper.

Eden lowered his gaze.

”I don’t know.”

The room immediately grew colder.

The eye narrowed slightly, and the change in temperature felt less like a physical reaction and more like reality itself responding to disappointment.

Beside him, Aria grabbed his arm.

”Eden.”

”I’m not lying.”

”I know.”

The eye continued watching him in silence before the voice echoed through the room again.

”You do know.”

Eden lifted his head.

”No.”

”You remember the door.”

”I remember drawing it.”

”You remember the knock.”

His jaw tightened.

”Yes.”

”You remember what was behind it.”

Eden hesitated.

The memory existed.

He could feel it buried somewhere deep inside himself, hidden beneath years of stories and layers of reality. Something had been behind that door. Something had been waiting. Every time he tried to grasp the image, however, it slipped away like water through his fingers.

”I remember being afraid.”

”Yet you looked.”

The answer came immediately.

Eden frowned.

”I was a child.”

”That is why.”

The words unsettled him more than they should have.

”What does that mean?”

For the first time, the eye moved.

It didn’t disappear or retreat. Instead, it slowly descended until it filled nearly all of Eden’s vision. The closer it came, the more details he could see within its iris.

There was something reflected there.

A room.

A bedroom.

A desk.

A child.

Eden froze.

It was him.

The reflection showed the small boy he had once been sitting beneath a desk exactly as he remembered. The room matched the fragments lingering inside his memory.

Then he noticed something else.

Someone was sitting across from the child.

A dark silhouette.

No face.

No features.

No identifying details.

Only a black shape holding a book.

Aria whispered beside him.

”Who is that?”

Eden didn’t answer.

The figure turned a page.

The memory shifted.

The child crawled out from beneath the desk and walked toward the drawing on the wall. His small hand stretched forward until a finger rested against the sketched wooden door.

His lips moved.

Eden leaned closer.

”What did I say?”

The eye answered.

”You asked a question.”

”What question?”

The reflection sharpened.

This time he heard the words clearly.

”What happens if I open it?”

The memory struck him with overwhelming force.

Not just the words.

The feeling.

For years he had believed that moment was the beginning of everything because he wanted adventure, because he wanted escape, because he wanted another world.

None of that was true.

The child had simply been curious.

He wanted to know what was behind the door.

Nothing more.

Nothing less.

The reflection continued.

The child reached for the handle.

His fingers wrapped around it.

He turned it.

The door opened.

Darkness waited beyond.

The child leaned forward.

And looked.

Eden staggered backward as the memory crashed into him.

Aria caught him before he could fall.

”Eden!”

”I remember.”

His voice shook.

”I remember what I saw.”

The eye remained silent.

Eden stared into the darkness surrounding the room.

”It wasn’t a monster.”

Aria waited.

”It wasn’t a person either.”

His eyes widened as the truth resurfaced.

”It was a world.”

The white room vanished.

For a single heartbeat, reality peeled away.

Eden saw a sky without stars stretching endlessly above an ocean that contained no water. Mountains floated upside down through an infinite black expanse. Cities stood silent and empty. Houses existed without doors. Trees grew from nothing. Everything looked unfinished, as though creation itself had paused midway through its work.

The place wasn’t destroyed.

It wasn’t abandoned.

It was waiting.

And somewhere inside that impossible world, something had been watching him.

The vision disappeared.

Eden dropped to one knee, struggling to breathe.

Aria crouched beside him.

”What did you see?”

”A world.”

”What kind?”

”I don’t know.”

He looked back toward the eye.

”It was empty.”

The answer came quietly.

”It was waiting.”

”For what?”

The eye slowly closed.

Darkness swallowed the room.

”For you.”

A single point of light appeared.

At first it seemed insignificant.

Then it expanded.

A rectangle.

A doorway.

The same door.

Only now it wasn’t drawn on paper.

It stood before them physically, old wood illuminated by pale light.

Eden stared.

Aria moved closer.

”Don’t open it.”

A faint smile crossed his face.

”You said that before.”

”And you opened it.”

”Apparently.”

She looked at him with complete seriousness.

”That doesn’t mean you have to do it again.”

Eden reached toward the handle.

Then stopped.

For perhaps the first time in his life, he hesitated.

Instead of acting, he turned toward Aria.

”If I open it, everything could change.”

”Yes.”

”If I don’t, we’ll never know.”

”Yes.”

He looked back at the door.

Something caught his attention.

Words had been carved into the wood.

Three simple words.

YOU ALREADY DID.

Eden froze.

The handle began turning on its own.

Aria stepped backward.

”Eden.”

”I didn’t touch it.”

”I know.”

The door slowly opened.

There was no endless world beyond it.

No darkness.

No cosmic revelation.

Only a room.

A simple room.

A desk.

A chair.

A computer.

And someone sitting behind it.

Eden’s heart stopped.

The figure turned around.

It was him.

Not the original adult Eden.

Not another version from one of the countless worlds.

A child.

Seven years old.

The same child from the memory.

The first Eden.

The boy smiled.

”You took long enough.”

Aria stared.

”That’s impossible.”

The child stood and looked between them.

”I’ve been waiting.”

Eden finally found his voice.

”Waiting for what?”

The boy pointed toward the computer.

”For you to come back.”

Eden stepped through the doorway.

Aria followed immediately.

The moment they entered, the door disappeared.

Eden spun around.

Nothing remained behind them except a plain white wall.

The child didn’t seem surprised.

”What is this place?” Eden asked.

”My first room.”

”You remember it?”

”I never forgot.”

Eden stared.

”Then why did I?”

The child walked toward the desk.

”Because you became too busy being Eden.”

The answer struck harder than Eden expected.

”What does that mean?”

”It means you grew up.”

The child sat in the chair and rested his hands on the keyboard.

”You started losing people. You started writing. You started trying to make everything mean something.”

His eyes lifted toward Eden.

”And I stayed here.”

”Why?”

The child glanced at the blank monitor.

”Because somebody had to remember what happened before the story.”

A strange weight settled in Eden’s chest.

”Tell me.”

The child shook his head.

”No.”

”Why?”

”Because you need to remember it yourself.”

Frustration flared inside him.

”I’ve spent what feels like centuries remembering things.”

”Not this.”

The child pointed at the keyboard.

”You remember what happened after the door opened.”

His finger tapped the desk.

”But you don’t remember what happened immediately before.”

Eden went still.

”What happened?”

The boy smiled faintly.

”You asked for someone to answer.”

Eden felt the color drain from his face.

The room fell silent.

He remembered the drawing.

The loneliness.

The curiosity.

The desire to know what existed beyond the ordinary world.

But there had been something else.

A missing piece.

A sentence.

A wish.

The child leaned forward.

”You didn’t open the door because you wanted to see what was inside.”

Eden whispered, ”Then why?”

The answer came gently.

”Because you were lonely.”

The words struck deeper than any revelation.

Before Luna.

Before Aria.

Before every story.

There had only been a lonely child sitting alone in a room.

A child who drew a door because he hoped someone might be waiting on the other side.

And when something answered him...

he hadn’t run away.

He had welcomed it.

Slowly, Eden sat down.

”Who answered me?”

The child looked toward the monitor.

The screen flickered to life.

A single sentence appeared.

I DID.

Eden stared.

”Who are you?”

The child smiled.

”I already told you.”

He rose from the chair and walked past Eden.

”I’m the first Eden.”

He stopped where the vanished doorway should have been.

”And you’re the one who came after.”

Eden turned toward him.

”Then who am I?”

For the first time, the child’s expression became serious.

”You’re the part of me that kept looking.”

The computer suddenly came alive.

Words appeared across the monitor faster than any hand could type them.

THE FIRST QUESTION HAS BEEN ANSWERED.

A second line followed.

THE FIRST ANSWER HAS BEEN FOUND.

Then a third.

NOW ASK THE SECOND QUESTION.

Eden stared at the screen.

His entire existence had begun with a question.

What happens if I open the door?

For years he had believed the answer created everything that followed.

Now he wasn’t so sure.

Perhaps the answer had never been the important part.

Perhaps the answer had only led to another question.

Slowly, he placed his hands on the keyboard.

Aria stood beside him in silence.

”What are you going to ask?” she whispered.

Eden looked at the blank screen. Then he looked at the child. Finally, he glanced toward the place where the door had vanished.

For the first time since this journey began, he wasn’t afraid of whatever might answer.

His fingers moved across the keys.

What was waiting for me?

The computer stopped.

The child froze.

Aria’s grip tightened around his hand.

Then, from somewhere beyond the room, something responded.

Not with words.

Not with a voice.

With three slow knocks.

Knock.

Knock.

Knock.
