Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 344: Chapter 343: Absolutely Cannot Feed

A comment on his ”national expert demeanor” suddenly made everyone see Ye Haochuan in a new light.

Especially those medical giants, who changed their previously dismissive attitude towards Ye Haochuan and couldn’t stop praising his medical skills.

”Indeed remarkable, with just a simple move, he spared the elderly man the pain of surgery.”

”Amazing, truly amazing, this Qigong technique, I knew it could be used for self-defense, but I never thought it could also heal illnesses.”

”It’s extraordinary, it seems in the medical world, as the saying goes, ’the new waves of the Yangtze River push the old waves forward’; we’re all getting old.”

”If it were me, I couldn’t resist aging even if I wanted to.”

...

Hearing the approval from several medical giants, Ye Haochuan smiled slightly, humbly for a change.

Given his personality, it wasn’t that he didn’t want to be ostentatious, but this event was crucial, relating to the future development of Haishan University Affiliated Hospital, so he had to be cautious and modest.

Yet, even with his caution and humility, he still couldn’t overcome the envy of petty individuals.

”This Qigong healing indeed has some merit but to say it’s miraculous is frankly an exaggeration. Bronchitis is just a minor illness,” suddenly said a rather arrogant medical giant.

Ye Haochuan frowned and glanced at him, only to see that this man had a disagreeable expression, even somewhat disdainful.

”Hehe, what should I call this professor?” Ye Haochuan certainly wouldn’t swallow his pride, he chuckled and asked.

”The chief of surgery at Haishan Medical University Affiliated Hospital, Ying Hui,” the man replied with an arrogant demeanor.

”Ah, Director Ying, nice to meet you,” Ye Haochuan said with a smile.

Director Ying snorted and arrogantly said, ”In my view, your Qigong technique is nothing but a minor skill, of no use when you really need to perform surgery on certain patients.”

Ye Haochuan’s brows furrowed deeply; Director Ying was of an advanced age, yet his medical ethics were so poor, to say such things?

However, after a moment of reflection, he understood, Director Ying was from Haishan Medical University, naturally biased towards his own side.

Moreover, Haishan Medical University had always been a leader in the Haishan medical field, and since he represented Haishan University and had overshadowed them, it was natural for this chief of surgery to feel aggrieved.

”Director Ying, whether my Qigong technique is a minor skill or not isn’t up to you to decide,” Ye Haochuan said coolly.

Director Ying sneered, ”Regardless of who decides, do you have the courage to consult on a patient with me?”

”What patient?” Ye Haochuan asked.

”Let me check...” Director Ying said and scanned the assembled patients.

Just then, another elderly patient suddenly became dizzy and staggered, almost falling to one side.

Fortunately, a staff member reacted in time and steadied him, preventing a fall.

”How about him?” Director Ying said, looking at Ye Haochuan for his opinion.

”I have no objections,” Ye Haochuan stated.

”Quick, staff, help that patient over here,” Director Ying instructed.

Immediately, two staff members quickly supported the elderly man, placing him on the hospital bed.

Since it was a live diagnosis, the stage was specially equipped with some modern medical equipment, and not far off, a temporary operating table had been set up, just in case.

”Do you want to go first, or should I?” Director Ying glanced at Ye Haochuan and said.

Ye Haochuan responded with a faint smile and made a gesture of invitation, ”Director Ying, please, after you.”

Director Ying then began to get busy. Luckily, the elderly man’s son was right beside him, so he started asking questions one by one.

After asking about the age, Director Ying continued, ”What’s the problem with your father?”

”My dad has always had issues with coronary heart disease. We’ve visited many hospitals, but none could cure him. This time, we heard that Haishan Medical University organized a meeting with all the medical experts in Haishan, so we brought my father here to check,” the elderly man’s son said.

”Coronary heart disease?” Director Ying frowned slightly, ”Do you have his heart disease medication with you?”

The elderly man’s son promptly said, ”We’ve always carried it.”

After saying that, he took out a box of heart medicine from a leather bag he was carrying.

Director Ying checked it, nodded, and said, ”Yes, this is the medicine. Give it to him first to stabilize his condition.”

”Okay.” The elderly man’s son immediately opened the medicine bottle, took out a pill, and prepared to feed it to his father.

However, just at that moment, Ye Haochuan suddenly spoke up, ”You can’t feed him, absolutely not.”

The surrounding medical experts were stunned. The man was having a heart problem, and they weren’t supposed to give him medication? Were they supposed to just watch him die?

The audience, who had been watching the big screen intently below, were also taken aback by this scene, and whispers started spreading among them.

”What do you mean, ’can’t feed him?’” Director Ying frowned.

”Exactly, this elderly gentleman is not having a coronary episode. If you give him this heart medication, it might delay the true condition and could even kill him,” Ye Haochuan said anxiously.

It turned out that while Director Ying was asking the elderly man’s son about the medical history, Ye Haochuan had secretly activated ”Perspective” and conducted a thorough examination of the elderly man’s body.

Just as the elderly man’s son was about to administer the medication, Ye Haochuan found the real cause and spoke out to stop it.

Although the elderly man’s son respected his performance up until then, he disagreed with what he said, ”Whenever my dad has an episode of coronary heart disease, it’s always like this. As long as we quickly give him the medication, the symptoms greatly alleviate.”

Ye Haochuan hurriedly explained, ”Your father does have coronary heart disease, but this time it’s not a coronary episode. He got heatstroke from long-distance travel in hot weather, which caused his internal heat to rise. Additionally, due to his old age, he momentarily felt dizzy and almost fainted...”

Before he could finish, Director Ying couldn’t help but retort angrily, ”Bullshit! This elderly man passed out clearly because of an acute attack of angina pectoris. If we don’t administer the medication now, you’ll be the one who ends up killing him.”

At this, Director Ying instructed the elderly man’s son to quickly administer the medication and ordered a few nearby nurses to prepare for intervention.

Ye Haochuan was well aware of the elderly man’s condition and couldn’t care less about saving face at this point. He shouted, ”Who’s going to kill him? Clearly, it’s you, isn’t it? I guarantee that with your blind treatment approach, this elderly gentleman might not survive.”

”What?” Director Ying’s face darkened.

He was an expert in heart disease, and this young man dared to discredit him in front of so many people; this was unbearable!

Ye Haochuan ignored his expression, stepped back, and said, ”Here’s what we’ll do, let’s use an ECG to check whether it’s a coronary attack, and we’ll know for sure.”

An electrocardiogram is the simplest and most commonly used method to diagnose coronary heart disease, which Director Ying of course knew. But this would indirectly cause others to doubt his diagnosis.

So, of course, he would not agree.

”There’s no need!” Director Ying waved dismissively, ”I am an expert in this field, and it’s not your place to second-guess me.”
