Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 310: Chapter 309 Old Master Lin

Today, Lin Xiaoquan was wearing a casual suit, a departure from the business attire he sported at the Xiao family mansion. He seemed less imposing and more carefree, giving off an approachable vibe.

Guided by the Lin sisters, Zixuan and Qingxuan, Ye Haochuan approached Lin Xiaoquan, chuckled and greeted, ”Mayor Lin, hello.”

”Doctor Ye, you’re a VIP to our Lin family, no need for such formality,” Lin Xiaoquan smiled faintly, ”Today, in my house, there’s no Mayor Lin, feel free to relax. If you don’t mind, you may just call me ’Uncle.’”

Ye Haochuan, already fed up with pomp and ceremony, broke into a wide grin upon hearing this, ”Then I won’t be polite, hello Uncle Lin.”

Lin Xiaoquan laughed heartily, obviously pleased with this address.

At his side, Lin Zixuan looked at Ye Haochuan with dissatisfaction, muttering, ”You sure know how to ingratiate yourself. Who said you could casually call him Uncle Lin?”

Ye Haochuan’s expression froze, and he gave her a speechless glance.

Seeing her sister always picking on him, Lin Qingxuan hurriedly tugged at her sister’s sleeve, signaling her to be more mindful.

”Zixuan, Haochuan is a distinguished guest of Dad’s, you should not be rude, do you understand?” Lin Xiaoquan frowned and said sternly.

After all, having held a position of authority for so long, Lin Xiaoquan naturally exuded an imposing aura. His frown quieted Lin Zixuan, who dared not talk back.

Ye Haochuan found the scene amusing, thinking that this must be the so-called ’natural pecking order.’ With a chuckle, he helped smooth things over, finally dispelling the awkwardness.

”Come, Haochuan, let’s go inside and talk,” Lin Xiaoquan then made a welcoming gesture.

”Okay.”

Ye Haochuan agreed and followed behind Lin Xiaoquan. However, after a few steps, he intentionally fell behind to catch up with Lin Zixuan, lowered his voice and chuckled, ”Just a correction, I am not the type who likes to climb up by flattering. I prefer to ram forward with the pole, remember that.”

After saying that, he flashed a mischievous smile and gave Lin Qingxuan a meaningful wink before turning to catch up with Lin Xiaoquan.

What does he mean by ’ram forward with the pole’? Utterly baffling!

Lin Zixuan, unlike her sister Lin Qingxuan, was worldly-wise, and soon grasped the implications of his words. That scoundrel, he’s making advances on me again, it’s infuriating!

Lin Qingxuan, who was nearby, also heard Ye Haochuan’s words, but after pondering for a while, she couldn’t understand their meaning and couldn’t help asking, ”Sister, what did Brother Ye mean by that?”

”What does it matter what he meant? Just listen to me, that Ye Haochuan is not a good egg; you should stay away from him,” Lin Zixuan adopted a lecturing elder sister’s tone.

Though Lin Qingxuan appeared demure and charming to outsiders, she had a rather strong character in front of her sister, saying, ”Sister, Brother Ye doesn’t seem as bad as you say, does he?”

Lin Zixuan shot her sister a glare, holding herself up high, ”What do you know? He’s the type who’s great at deceiving young girls. If you’re not careful, you won’t even know what hit you after suffering a loss. Alright, let’s hurry inside.”

Feeling helpless, Lin Qingxuan could only follow her sister inside.

By this time, Ye Haochuan had already entered the drawing-room with Lin Xiaoquan, but soon, he noticed an old man in his sixties sitting upright on a sofa.

Standing next to the old man was a middle-aged man in his forties.

Without a doubt, this old man was the former senior leader mentioned by Gao Ren, Elder Lin.

He was dressed in a crisp grey Sun Yat-sen suit, appeared spry and vigorous, with short, light silver hair – clearly a character of unyielding personality.

Somehow, Ye Haochuan unconsciously thought of Elder Xiao, and even secretly compared them. He found that, unlike Elder Xiao’s unassuming and innately commanding presence, Elder Lin exhibited an overt dominance, every move conveying an oppressive weight.

Yet quickly, Ye Haochuan suddenly felt the pressure emanating from Elder Lin dissipate.

Huh, what’s going on? Can someone really control their presence like that?

Ye Haochuan was inwardly shocked and suddenly thought of a possibility, damn, could Elder Xiao be an Innate Master?

”Junior Doctor Ye is here!” It was Elder Master Lin who spoke first, his laughter hearty.

Immediately after, Lin Xiaoquan explained, ”This is my father, Lin Zhonghe, and the grandfather of Zixuan and Qingxuan.”

Ye Haochuan hurriedly collected his thoughts and offered a slight smile, ”Elder Master Lin, hello.”

”Junior Doctor Ye, I, this old man, have been eagerly waiting for your arrival, haha, the strange illness of Qingxuan, thanks to your miraculous healing,” Elder Master Lin chuckled.

Ye Haochuan quickly waved his hand and said, ”Elder Master Lin is too polite; Lin Qingxuan is a student at Haishan University, and as the university’s doctor, it is my duty.”

Both Elder Master Lin and his son Lin Xiaoquan were very satisfied with his answer.

However, Lin Zixuan snorted lightly, ”Nice words, but in truth, a belly full of crooks and whores.”

But her voice was soft, and no one noticed what she said.

”Junior Doctor Ye, actually, there’s another reason I asked you to come over today, aside from thanking you for saving our Qingxuan girl—it’s a request from this old man.”

Ye Haochuan’s brows raised, the real issue at hand, he promptly said, ”Elder Master Lin, please speak, as long as I am capable, I won’t refuse.”

”Good.” Elder Master Lin laughed openly, ”You see, this old man got shot when I was young and injured a lobe of my lung. Because it wasn’t treated in time, it left a chronic problem. Now that I’m older, the issue is getting more severe. Fortunately, Doctor Fu here has been taking care of my health, or else I’d probably be gone by now.”

Ye Haochuan glanced at the middle-aged man beside him, thinking to himself that this man’s surname was Fu, and he was also a doctor.

Nonetheless, for some reason, he felt a hint of hostility from Doctor Fu’s eyes.

”Elder Master Lin, rest assured, I will do my utmost,” Ye Haochuan said earnestly.

Seeing his commitment, both Elder Master Lin and Lin Xiaoquan were pleased.

At that moment, Doctor Fu spoke up, ”Elder Chief, although this Junior Doctor Ye knows some medical skills, he is, after all, so young. Your lung injury is an old ailment of many years, and even the Expert that you... asked for help was helpless. How could he possibly cure your injury?”

Ye Haochuan frowned slightly, this Doctor Fu’s talk about the ’Expert’ was vague and unclear, really damn frustrating. Speak clearly if you have something to say, why beat around the bush? I curse you to a lifetime of buying instant noodles with no flavor packs.

”No matter, no matter, anyway, this old man’s condition is as such,” Elder Master Lin waved his hands and laughed, ”let Junior Doctor Ye take a look. If he can cure it, that would be great; if not, then let it be.”

Doctor Fu sighed and had to let it go.

Only then did Elder Master Lin urge Ye Haochuan to examine him right away.

Ye Haochuan nodded, used his Perspective Eyes to check on Elder Master Lin, and already had a plan in his mind.

Seeing him nodding with a smile, Lin Xiaoquan couldn’t help but feel thrilled, ”Haochuan, how does it look? Can it be cured?”

”It’s somewhat serious, but yes, it can be cured,” Ye Haochuan nodded.

”Is that so?” Lin Xiaoquan rejoiced greatly.

And even Elder Master Lin was unexpectedly overjoyed and excited to the point of almost standing up, ”Junior Doctor Ye, you mean it?”

Ye Haochuan nodded, ”I can guarantee it!”

No sooner had the words left his mouth than Doctor Fu’s icy voice rang out, ”Nonsense!”
