Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 328: Chapter 337: The Eccentric Taoist

Hearing Ye Haochuan’s question, Liu Weimin glanced at Miao Hui and said, ”You’ve been at home all the time, have there been any other visitors to our house since Doctor Ye left?”

Miao Hui thought for a moment and replied, ”Jiajia’s condition had improved at that time, and I thought she was almost recovered, so I notified some relatives and friends to come over for a gathering in the afternoon. There were quite a few people who came.”

”Then, which of those people entered Liu Jiajia’s room?” Ye Haochuan pressed on.

”I can’t really remember that clearly; it seems like every guest I invited had been in there,” Miao Hui said with some uncertainty.

”Do you still remember the list of guests you invited?” Ye Haochuan asked.

”I do remember that,” Miao Hui stated confidently, ”I can list their names for you right now.”

”Good, list their names first, and also, it would be best to write down their addresses as well.”

After pondering for a moment, Ye Haochuan added, ”Based on my speculation, I cured your daughter yesterday afternoon; logically, your enemy shouldn’t have reacted so quickly. But that wasn’t the case, so, I suspect that your enemy is among these people. Think carefully, have you had any disputes with any of them?”

Liu Weimin and Miao Hui whispered to each other for a while, and finally, Liu Weimin spoke up, ”Regarding guests we’ve had disputes with, I’ve thought about it, and there are quite a few, but most are minor issues, unlikely severe enough for such extreme action. However, we had a particularly bad relationship only with my eldest brother and sister-in-law’s family.”

”Oh?” Ye Haochuan expressed surprise, ”Tell me more about it.”

”Alright.” Liu Weimin nodded, then recounted his grudges with his older brother and sister-in-law over the years.

It turned out that Liu Weimin and Miao Hui had always had a very poor relationship with his eldest brother and sister-in-law, stemming from an incident ten years ago.

Back then, their relationship had been neither good nor bad, but during one summer vacation, Liu Weimin’s eleven-year-old daughter, Liu Jiajia, insisted on going to play at the reservoir. She went there under the guidance of Liu Weimin’s nephew, Liu Hualiang, along with a group of children.

Tragically, Liu Jiajia fell into the water, and while Liu Hualiang attempted to save her, he unfortunately drowned, but Liu Jiajia was rescued.

Since Liu Hualiang was Liu Weiguo’s only son, Liu Weiguo and his wife were grief-stricken. They resented Liu Jiajia to the point of gnashing their teeth and had once declared they wished her dead.

From then on, the relationship between the two families plummeted to rock bottom. Liu Weimin and Miao Hui made countless attempts at reconciliation, to no avail.

”In fact, we deeply understand the situation of my older brother and his wife, because my sister-in-law was naturally infertile. After great difficulty, she conceived Hualiang, and after his death, at her age, it was even less likely for her to conceive again. Therefore, her resentment towards our Jiajia was extremely strong, so we suspect that she might have done something behind the scenes.”

After Liu Weimin finished speaking, Miao Hui added, ”However, what puzzles me is that my sister-in-law, though she came to see Jiajia, acted very normally and even laughed and talked with Jiajia. I really can’t figure out how she could have done anything.”

Hearing this, Ye Haochuan had already formed a conclusion. He said to Liu Weimin, ”Alright, give me your brother and sister-in-law’s address, I’ll go check it out myself.”

Liu Weimin immediately took out a pen and paper, quickly jotted something down, and then handed it to Ye Haochuan.

Ye Haochuan looked at it and indicated that he would go check it out right away.

”Should I come with you?” Liu Weimin offered.

Ye Haochuan shook his head gravely, ”You better not. I suspect there’s an expert at your brother and sister-in-law’s place. If you come along, you might be easily detected since I’m going there on the sly.”

Only then did Liu Weimin give up the idea, but he suggested that Ye Haochuan take his own Audi A6.

Ye Haochuan did not refuse this suggestion, saying, ”Alright.”

After leaving the villa, Liu Weimin called the driver, gave some instructions, and then invited Ye Haochuan into the car.

The Audi driver took Ye Haochuan to the Chunxi Road area in the city center, then stopped the car by the roadside as per Ye Haochuan’s request.

Ye Haochuan got out of the car, asked the driver to wait, and then headed towards the address provided by Liu Weimin to Liu Weiguo’s villa.

Before long, he arrived at Liu Weiguo’s villa, but he did not act rashly; instead, he observed the villa from a distance.

Soon, he noticed something unusual about this villa—it felt cheerless and eerie, utterly lifeless.

With a thought, Ye Haochuan immediately activated his Perspective Eyes and the situation inside the villa was laid bare before him.

Unlike Liu Weimin’s villa, Liu Weiguo’s villa had very few servants and bodyguards. However, Ye Haochuan could clearly see that inside the villa, in addition to a middle-aged couple looking haggard and two servants, there was also a guy wearing a Taoist robe.

This guy in the Taoist robe was tall and thin, with a sharp chin and monkey cheeks, and seemed to be in his thirties, especially those shifty eyes that rolled around incessantly, giving him a sneaky and sordid appearance.

At this moment, the Taoist was performing a ritual inside the villa, putting on an air of an otherworldly expert.

”Heh, just as I expected, there’s an expert manipulating things from behind,” Ye Haochuan nodded to himself.

However, before figuring out the details of the other party, Ye Haochuan did not want to reveal himself too early. Judging from Liu Jiajia’s condition, whoever had taken her soul was no ordinary person and was very likely an expert in the Postnatal Realm or even the Innate Realm.

After observing the layout of Liu Weiguo’s villa for a while, Ye Haochuan had a clear understanding in his mind. Then, when no one was paying attention, he leaped over the two-meter-high fence into the villa’s backyard and quietly sneaked towards the villa.

Eventually, he concealed himself in a discreet corner, activated his Perspective Eyes, summoned all his True Qi, pricked up his ears, and listened intently; soon, voices from inside the villa reached him.

The sleazy Taoist sitting cross-legged said, ”Mr. Liu, you can rest assured. I have successfully captured Liu Jiajia’s soul. It is temporarily imprisoned in this porcelain urn. If you want to vent your anger, I can summon her soul right now.”

Ye Haochuan raised an eyebrow; only then did he notice the small porcelain urn, about thirty centimeters tall, in front of the sleazy Taoist. The urn emanated a dark aura, clearly no ordinary object.

At that moment, the middle-aged man who was called Liu Weiguo impatiently said, ”Master, I beg you, summon that little bitch’s soul quickly. I want to torment her to death.”

”Yes, yes, quickly summon her soul. She caused the death of my son; I want her to suffer worse than death,” another middle-aged woman by Liu Weiguo’s side spoke with venomous resentment.

Ye Haochuan’s heart grew cold. Damn, this Liu Weiguo couple harbored such deep resentment. The deceased was gone; did they really have to pursue such vindictiveness?

”Well then, if you agree, kneel devoutly. Offer some of your Essence Qi...”

Hearing the Taoist’s words, Ye Haochuan suddenly tensed. Not good, there was something fishy about this Taoist, and he was definitely not a kind character!
