Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 342: Chapter 341: Exchange Meeting

Ye Haochuan, whose hearing was incredibly sharp, could not help but hear the murmurs of the audience below.

However, facing skepticism, he had already mentally prepared himself, so he simply smiled and reassuringly glanced at Xiao Haimei beside him before he walked to the lectern with composure.

All eyes in the venue suddenly fixed on him, and in that moment, he became the center of attention.

Journalists at the back of the venue immediately directed their cameramen to focus their cameras on him.

As he stepped onto the lectern, Ye Haochuan saw that not only the audience but also the six medical authorities onstage, including President Shi Mingtai, all looked at him with surprise.

”Old Shi, who is this young man?”

”This young man looks too young, just in his twenties, right? How could someone of his age have unique insights and experience in medicine?”

Successively, two medical authorities asked President Shi Mingtai questions.

Shi Mingtai had just recovered from his astonishment and, after glancing at Xiao Haimie in the guest seats below, explained, ”This is a nominee sent over yesterday by Miss Xiao Haimie, the chairwoman of Haishan University, claiming this person has superb medical skills and unique insights in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Due to our long-standing cooperation with Haishan University, our university accepted...”

”Hey, I say, Old Shi, this is a medical conference, not a hodgepodge; we can’t just invite anyone to ramble on.”

”Indeed, Old Shi, Traditional Chinese Medicine is a very meticulous field. Without decades of medical experience, it’s impossible for one to have any insights or achievements. This young man is too young; it’s unreliable.”

”Exactly, Old Shi, look, the audience below is becoming rowdy. Maybe convince him to speak less and then get off the stage to avoid embarrassments.”

...

Listening to everyone’s remarks, President Shi Mingtai felt quite troubled. He had accepted the list from Haishan University initially out of trust built over long-term cooperation, without detailed scrutiny, only to find the situation now quite thorny.

”Let’s do this: let him speak for a few minutes, and we’ll listen. If he doesn’t speak well, we’ll pretend there’s a malfunction and cut the microphone, letting him step down,” President Shi Mingtai consoled.

The medical authorities, not being the hosts themselves, could only go along with his arrangement.

By then, Ye Haochuan had already ascended the lectern, taken the microphone, and after a brief self-introductory preamble, he began to speak fluently.

”Today, I will discuss the critical role of Qigong in Traditional Chinese Medicine...”

No sooner had he mentioned this than the audience erupted into murmurs. Clearly, many present were dismissive of him.

Because no one expected that he, being so young, would start his talk with Traditional Chinese Medicine. Most accomplished practitioners are elder traditional doctors; how could a young man like him have the audacity to speak at the lectern?

But Ye Haochuan was unfazed. He paused briefly, then continued, ”As we all know, Qigong has always been an essential part of our Huaxia traditional medicine. Over two thousand years ago, ’Inner Canon of Huangdi’ documented methods, theories, and therapeutic effects of Qigong exercises in detail.”

”Looking at the development of Traditional Chinese Medicine, our Huaxia medical experts through the ages have valued Qigong highly. For instance, the renowned Zhang Zhongjing of the Han Dynasty once mentioned in ’Gold Manual’ that ’when one feels lethargy in limbs, immediately undertake guiding and breathing exercises, and acupuncture to prevent blockage of the nine orifices.’ What he referred to as ’guiding and breathing exercises’ are actually a form of Qigong practice.”

”Speaking of Qigong, one of its most famous forms was the ’Five-Animal Frolics’ created by the Han Dynasty’s notable doctor Hua Tuo...”

As he spoke, just as he was about to demonstrate the ’Five-Animal Frolics’ inherited from Holy Hand to everyone present, suddenly a man stood up in the venue and shouted, ”Ye Haochuan, you charlatan, how dare you spout such nonsense here? Get down immediately; don’t embarrass yourself further.”

All eyes instantly turned toward this person.

Ye Haochuan was no exception; he looked closely and, after a moment, recognized the man as somewhat familiar before recalling he was Chen Yushan’s ex-boyfriend, Yu Haolin, a doctor at Haishan People’s Hospital.

At that moment, Yu Haolin continued loudly, ”Everyone, don’t be deceived by this young man. He is just a mere school doctor from Haishan University, graduated from a third-rate institution of Traditional Chinese Medicine. How much expertise can he have? Where would he understand Qigong? To let him talk about Traditional Chinese Medicine is an insult to our Huaxia’s Traditional Chinese Medicine.”

His voice was loud enough that everyone in the venue heard him clearly, and the crowd immediately erupted into murmurs.

On the stage of the venue, a medical authority furrowed his brows and said to Shi Mingtai, ”Old Shi, better get this Ye Haochuan off the stage quickly, so he doesn’t embarrass us.”

Immediately after, another medical authority followed, saying, ”Yes, Old Shi, the content of Qigong this young man is talking about is so baseless. Instead of listening to him recite from the book here, it would be better to go home and read medical books, and save time.”

The other medical authorities also shook their heads continuously, persuading Shi Mingtai to let Ye Haochuan step down.

Shi Mingtai saw the situation developing in an uncontrollable direction. If not handled well, it could embarrass Haishan Medical University severely.

However, just as he was about to stand up, suddenly there came a loud bang from a giant potted plant on one side of the stage, unexpectedly exploding into pieces.

”Ah!”

Simultaneously, the venue almost unanimously erupted in surprised voices.

All eyes were transfixed on the young man on the stage, Ye Haochuan, who had shattered the potted plant with a single palm!

”My god, how did he do that? Could it be that he was using Qigong just now?”

”This must definitely be Qigong, damn, this kid has strong Qigong skills, to be able to shatter the potted plant from such a distance.”

”No wonder Haishan University recommended this kid to do the presentation. It turns out he really has genuine talents and knowledge, and we’ve underestimated him.”

...

Seeing everyone’s reaction in the venue, Ye Haochuan inwardly sneered, ’Damn, if I hadn’t shown you guys something impressive, you really would have thought I was just bluffing.’

Glancing at Xiao Haimei in the guest seats, he saw her pretty face smiling, her eyes filled with playful reproach, obviously amused by his earlier antics.

At this moment, the most embarrassed person was Yu Haolin, who had just stepped forward to vehemently attack Ye Haochuan in an attempt to get revenge for losing his girlfriend. However, Ye Haochuan had immediately demonstrated his formidable skill in retaliation, leaving Yu Haolin feeling burning shame on his face.

Taking advantage of the attention focused on Ye Haochuan, he hastily sat back down.

Subsequently, the venue slowly quieted down, and Ye Haochuan continued his presentation. To make it easy for the audience to understand, he especially demonstrated Qigong on the spot while explaining the influence of Qigong on Traditional Chinese Medicine.

In this way, his masterful Qigong showcase quickly won over many in the audience.

However, discordant voices persisted, especially from Yu Haolin, who kept standing up to throw challenges at him.

Ye Haochuan, the influence of Qigong on Traditional Chinese Medicine is indeed significant, but isn’t it an exaggeration the way you describe it? If you really have the ability, diagnose some patients for us right now,” Yu Haolin said loudly.

This suggestion received support from many listeners.

This time, Haishan Medical University’s conference had already arranged two sessions beforehand: the first was paper presentations, and the second was live diagnosis.

Thus, President Shi Mingtai of the university stood up immediately and instructed his staff, ”Please bring in the patients.”
