Chapter 255: Chapter 255: Watching Dogs Fight from the Hill

Ye Haochuan was startled for a moment and said, ”Be careful of someone? Who?”

Su Zehao hesitated for a moment before saying, ”It’s that woman by your fiancée’s side.”

”Fan Qingyin?” Ye Haochuan blurted out.

Originally, he had already been somewhat suspicious of Fan Qingyin, but now with Su Zehao’s comment, his suspicions deepened.

”Exactly, Fan Qingyin,” Su Zehao nodded. ”I believe you’ve noticed as well, this woman is not from the secular world, just like you and me, she’s also a person of the Martial Arts Path. However, this woman is from the Phantom Sound Sect, skilled in charm techniques, and with the strength of the Mid-Stage Postnatal, you must be very careful.”

So she was from the Phantom Sound Sect, no wonder she was flirting with me just now.

Damn it, what do I have to be careful of? She should be the one being careful!

She thought she could charm me? Naïve! If I felt like it, I would have taken her down right there!

Ye Haochuan suddenly realized and said in confusion, ”This is really strange, what is a Phantom Sound Sect disciple doing here? She couldn’t possibly be here for the Ice Soul Sword in my possession, could she?”

Su Zehao snapped his fingers and said, ”Exactly, it’s for the Ice Soul Sword you hold. She’s only at the Mid-Stage Postnatal now; appearing in Haishan, she’s mostly likely aiming to enter the Sub-Fire Dimension Realm to enhance her strength. She probably wants to take the Ice Soul Sword for herself, you need to be wary.”

Su Zehao’s words were not off mark, looked at from any angle, possessing the Ice Soul Sword would indeed add a powerful advantage to Fan Qingyin. She had no reason not to covet the Ice Soul Sword.

”Alright, I understand,” Ye Haochuan nodded, then suddenly felt curious, ”How did you all know that the Ice Soul Sword was in my possession?”

Su Zehao smiled and said, ”Actually, the rumor has always been that the Ice Soul Sword is in your hands; I wasn’t totally sure about that. However, one thing is certain, on the night of the incident, you indeed met Ling Xiaotian.”

Ye Haochuan frowned, unable to deny this.

”I’ve received news that at Elder Xiao’s birthday banquet, many in the Martial Arts Path Realm suspect that the Ice Soul Sword is in your hands, and these people have been restraining themselves, waiting for the right moment to kill you and take away the Ice Soul Sword. You must be very cautious,” Su Zehao advised.

Damn!

A flash of surprise crossed Ye Haochuan’s face, he hadn’t expected Elder Xiao’s birthday banquet to hide such murderous intent.

”However, you don’t need to worry too much. Right after I entered the Xiao family mansion, I noticed that there was an expert of the Innate Realm by Elder Xiao’s side. Those coveting the Ice Soul Sword are mostly not very strong; no one dares to actually make a move. They’re lurking in the banquet purely to stir the waters, perhaps hoping to get lucky and obtain the Ice Soul Sword, then they would really strike it rich...”

Upon hearing this, Ye Haochuan chuckled, his laughter tinged with a sinister edge, ”Damn, a bunch of cowards. If they have the guts, just come and try to rob it, who do I have to fear?”

However, hearing Su Zehao mention that there was an expert of the Innate Realm by Elder Xiao’s side, he suddenly felt alarmed. Damn it, I had been careless to not notice this ourselves.

Thinking about it, it wasn’t surprising. Given Elder Xiao’s status as a former Inner Sect Disciple of the Ancient Martial Arts Sect, it was not hard for him to have some brothers and friends who had loyally followed him through life and death, otherwise, how could he stand unshakeable in Haishan’s business world?

”So, my guess is, these people are most likely not going to make a move at the birthday banquet, but wait until after the banquet to come and attack you...” as Su Zehao spoke, a handsome smile suddenly flashed across his face, ”Speaking of Cao Cao, Cao Cao arrives. Quite a few people are sneaking up here.”

Ye Haochuan secretly admired him; after all, he was at the Peak Postnatal in cultivation. He himself hadn’t reacted yet, but Su Zehao had already noticed.

Moved by this realization, Ye Haochuan activated his ”Perspective” vision, surveying the surroundings, only to see a group of people about a hundred yards away, some alone, some in pairs, and some in groups of three to five, quietly sneaking towards him.

Even if Ye Haochuan counted on his toes, he knew these people were after the Ice Soul Sword in his hands.

Although, these people were still uncertain whether the Ice Soul Sword was indeed with him.

At that moment, Su Zehao suddenly spoke up, asking, ”Haichuan, how do you plan to deal with these people?”

”Strike first to gain the upper hand, delay and suffer the consequences!” Ye Haochuan said murderously, ”As soon as the birthday banquet is over, they are going to attack me en masse. I might as well strike first and incapacitate them!”

Incapacitate them?

This was the first time Su Zehao had experienced Ye Haochuan’s resolute and ruthless approach to handling situations, and he couldn’t help but shiver, but after some thought, he found it justified. If not now, should he wait for those people to swarm up before retaliating?

”Alright, Haichuan, if you don’t mind, I’d like to fight alongside you. Consider it a trial for our future entry into the Dimension Realm, how about that?” Su Zehao said spiritedly.

Ye Haochuan couldn’t have asked for more and replied, ”Good!”

The two of them looked at each other and laughed heartily.

Unbeknownst to them, they both felt their friendship elevating.

However, as Su Zehao had predicted, the approaching figures indeed proceeded with caution, each of them afraid to strike first, lest they end up giving an opportunity for others to benefit from their confrontation.

Su Zehao frowned and said, ”It seems we need to use a stratagem to draw these people out.”

Ye Haochuan already had this in mind, his eyes twinkled as he came up with an idea, saying, ”How about we fake a fight? We both end up injured, and then, I stay behind while you leave and incapacitate those who are still unwilling to show themselves?”

Su Zehao agreed readily.

They then acted according to the plan and soon engaged in a fierce fight.

However, in order to prevent any leaks, Ye Haochuan purposely put away the Ice Soul Sword.

Soon after, Ye Haochuan feigned injury and fell to the ground, while Su Zehao pretended to be beaten back and fled.

Seeing Ye Haochuan’s plight, those hiding could no longer restrain themselves and burst out, rushing towards him.

In the blink of an eye, Ye Haochuan was surrounded by the group. Glancing around, he saw at least twenty people split into two distinct groups. Most were at the Postnatal Early Stage, with only a few at the Postnatal Mid-Stage, posing a slight threat to him.

However, what puzzled Ye Haochuan was that these two groups seemed to regard him only as prey, and instead started to confront each other.

What a bunch of rabble.

Ye Haochuan shook his head, a scornful cold smile playing on his lips.

At that moment, a skinny, pole-like fellow shouted, ”Ye Haochuan, quickly hand over all the Ice Soul Swords from the Tianyu Alliance, and we’ll spare your life!”

So, they were people from the Tianyu Alliance!

Just as Ye Haochuan was about to deny it, from the other group, an extremely obese individual also shouted loudly, ”Ye Haochuan, damn it, if you dare to hand over the Ice Soul Sword to them from the Tianyu Alliance, we from the Sun Moon Alliance will trash you!”

Sun Moon Alliance? What’s that now?

Ye Haochuan shook his head, but from the dialogue between the two sides, it was clear that all were undoubtedly disciples from Ancient Martial Arts Sects. Alas, to fight amongst one another, why the undue haste?

At that moment, the Tianyu Alliance and Sun Moon Alliance started hurling insults at each other, and the situation quickly escalated to a tense standoff.

Ye Haochuan found the scene increasingly amusing, thinking to himself to just watch the changes, let them engage in infighting first, as he watched from a distance.
